Taken after picking him up from a bath. Notice his sharp looking bandanna :)

This place is a win-win for both me and my dog. It's right off Barker-Cypress by 290 which is a convenient location to hit up on my way in or out of town. Their hours are great for those of us who work days too (7a-6p). On my first visit here I asked to be shown where my dog would be staying and they took me back to see it right away. I didn't get any of the "you have to schedule an appointment for a tour", or "wait while I get someone to help you (aka- were going to do a quick clean job before you see it)" all of which are excuses I have heard before from other boarding facilities. This location is very clean and I got to see the exact space my dog would be in. He weighs 65 lbs. and their kennel was more than enough room for him with a doggie door in the back so he could go inside/outside at his leisure. This is a feature I love because he is very indecisive and this gives him control of his climate. I also like that the doors are solid plastic from top to bottom because there is no way an animal could hurt themselves on it (as they could on cage bars) or accidently get out (in the case of smaller dogs). My dog happens to be a problem child requiring daily medications. All the girls that work here are very sweet and gentle with him and they always remember his name and to ask for his meds when we come in. They are also diligent to give me a progress report on how he did during his stay when I come to pick him up (a very nice and appreciated personal touch). We have gotten to the point where he is actually excited to go to the kennel! Their kind and calm demeanors added to his obvious enjoyment give me peace of mind about leaving him with them. They also offer grooming services which I have taken advantage of as well. He always comes home from a bath smelling great and wearing a super cute bandana. (see pic) For the quality of services they provide I think their prices are extremely affordable. I seriously hit the jackpot in finding a place like this that is reasonably priced and takes loving care of my puppy while I'm gone!

I have three dogs and have boarded them here several times, usually for 3 to 7 days at a stretch. Now I'd like to point out that when I take them to the vet I usually have a real hard time getting them out of the car... They know what's coming! But when I bring them to Dog Days I can tell they are happy to be there. They stay in the junior executive suite, which is a good size for the three of them to hang together, plus it's air-conditioned and not noisy like the open fence kennels. The last time I went, there was a new young lady working the front desk who wasn't all that friendly, but generally the staff is sweet and you can tell they are very much into animals. My kids will tell you that I love my dogs more than I love them (of course, the dogs don't stay out late or talk back), and I would not trust just anyone to take care of them when I travel. I trust Dog Days.

After there baths and play time and pepper pasted out.

I couldn't believe what she accomplished with my dog on the first day, let alone after 4 days of training. Dexter, a rescue dog, who was taken from his momma at 5 weeks (currently 4 months old), needed to learn bite inhibition, and he had anxiety issues. He is a different dog; more calm, relaxed and so pleasant! He went from biting and barking and jumping (mostly what puppies do anyway, but the biting was getting more aggressive and a huge concern for me) to doing none of those. In 4 days, the majority of basic obedience has been taught. I can put him in the down position, drop a treat, say leave it, and he won't touch it until I say! I have always wanted a well-behaved dog, and because of her work, I have that!! And it will only continue, as Dexter will get to work with her once a week! I highly recommend Dawn - 2 HUGE thumbs up. You will not be disappointed.

We initially thought we'd foster her for adoption due to her dog aggression issues. After working with Travis, we decided togive Rosie a forever home ourselves. We brought Travis in to privately train her so she didn't have to deal with the stress of a group setting and because we wanted a tailored training program. With Lone Star Dog Training, we received an excellent job. Travis educated us about how training is important and what results he felt we could see. Over the course of 4 months, Rosie went from being aggressive toward our other dogs to feeling safe and comfortable with them. She's even adopted our 12 year old border terrier as her sister. Rosie has progressed from a frightened stray who did not wag her tail or understand how to take affection, to bounding and leaping with joy when she sees her people. She now seeks out our affections and looks forward to spending time with us. If not for Lone Star Dog Training, we would not have decided to keep her. Before she went, I'd worked with her on sit, down, take it, leave it, and some spins with decent success. Brian took what she had and built on it, adding heel, come when called, turn, and stay. He returned a noticeably different dog. When we hit some bumps shortly after, he came back out and spent a solid hour with me going over what was actually happening...not just commands and corrections, but why she was behaving the way she was and what she needed from me to feel secure. (Spoiler: she needed me to be more confident and consistent.) He has a way of cutting straight to what matters without overcomplicating it, and more than once he said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. What struck me most across both experiences was how much genuine wisdom he brings to his work. He's clearly someone who has learned his craft through deep experience and observation, and it shows in every interaction with the dog and with the owner. On top of all of that, his pricing was incredibly reasonable; boarding and training combined for what many trainers charge for training alone. We felt genuinely taken care of. Kind, patient, perceptive, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

Our trainer, Monica, was excellent with Daisy and what I loved most about her was that she would explain to us how she was training our dog and also why she would do something a certain way. A lot of times she would comment about how this reinforces some sort of behavior or would boost Daisy's confidence, etc. At one point of our training Daisy didn't take well to the previous lesson (down lesson) and Daisy wasn't receptive to the next training session and was extremely nervous and jittery. Monica picked up on this right away and instead of just charging through, took a step back to assess the situation and told us that this lesson would be free since Daisy wasn't herself and even considered bringing another trainer in. We were extremely appreciative of this gesture and found it to be very considerate and professional. We were a little nervous starting out the training because Daisy is an extremely sensitive and submissive dog, but at the end of the training (which was today) her confidence levels are much higher and she seems to be a much happier dog!!! Daisy is far from perfect but her discipline and manners are getting better every day and we love seeing her progress and growth. We highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training.
