DO NOT GO!!! I took my two dogs to the cypress location because it was a little more affordable than my usual place, so I decided to give it a try. Upon arrival the staff was nice, so I figured they'd be in good hands. Left them for 7 days, and they came back in horrible condition. Literally smelled like piss and full of dirt. I wasn't expecting them to come back groomed as I didn't add it to the service for my bigger one, but at least hose them down. Honestly think they let them sleep in their own piss too due to the horrible smell they came back with. They literally looked like stray dogs! They said they couldn't groom my little one which is fine because I know he's really anxious around new people. I just think this place isn't truly caring with pets. If I could put 0 star I would. This kennel neglected my cat until she literally died. When we dropped her off she was in great health and very happy, thank god we arrived a day early because once we got there she was on the verge of death. We rushed her to the ER and the doctor said that she was without water and food for days. The least the kennel could've done was notify us that our pet wasn't eating or drinking, but they don't check on their animals so clearly they didn't know. This place caused my family and I a huge loss and there is still a hole in my life because of it. Please hold this place accountable for the neglect towards animals. Summary (TLDR): We were loyal customers of over 6 years. After an altercation with a supervisor, we feel too uncomfortable to come back. I apologize for this review being so long, but there's a lot to be said about this company. My family experienced disappointing haircuts and service at Dogs Day Inn recently. We've been loyal customers to for over 6 years and have consistently brought our dogs, and foster dogs, to them. In the past, our dogs have not been nervous to come to Dogs Day Inn and have received very cute haircuts. The staff had always been nice and accommodating as well. However, our last visit was so terrible that we are never coming back. We brought my cocker spaniel and Dutch-spaniel-mix to this groomer last Thursday. We requested that my cocker spaniel receive a standard cocker-cut. Also, we requested that my spaniel-mix receive a trim, but not to cut the fur on her ears or tail. I was not the person who picked up the dogs when they were finished, but when I saw their haircuts I thought they looked rushed and choppy. My cocker spaniel's fur was not trimmed on his chest, paws, or belly. Additionally, my spaniel-mix's ears and tail had been trimmed straight across. We figured that maybe there was a miscommunication, no big deal. It's bound to happen at least 1 time after 6 years of great service. My brother, cousin, and I brought the dogs back the next morning. The front desk people were nice enough to give us a store credit refund and offered to fix the dogs' haircuts for free. I showed the groomer some pictures of how I wanted my cocker's fur blended (including pictures of our other dogs that had been groomed by Dogs Day Inn). We left him there and they were quick to redo his haircut. I came to pick him up and he looked A LOT better. I was very happy with the changes that they made and thanked them for it. A middle-aged woman (I believe she's a supervisor of the groomers) came to talk to us. She explained that my dog's fur was different than that of a typical cocker and that it was difficult to blend his fur because of it. I was satisfied with that explanation, but then she began to lecture us. She said a lot of things to us that were completely out of line, but I'll try to summarize it. Basically, she said that we needed to 'watch our tones when we talk to people' and that we were 'rude to the groomer'. We were also told that we "hurt the groomer's feelings", which I thought was an unprofessional thing to say to one of your patrons. We even offered to apologize to whoever's feelings we hurt, it was unintentional. The breaking point for me was when this woman said we if we were "always" unhappy with the groomers, that we should take them to a different groomer. I told her that we had been coming to Dogs Day Inn for years and that this was literally the only time we had ever been unhappy. Again, she repeated that the groomers "can't seem to satisfy" us and to try a different groomer. After finishing talking to this woman, I went to the front and requested a full refund for both dogs, rather than store credit. I explained that I did not want store credit if that woman wanted us to find a different groomer. The people at the front desk and the manager were very apologetic and gave us the full refund. They said that they'd hate for us to not come back after bringing our dogs to them for so many years. Frankly, it may have just been this one woman speaking out of line. This was the only time I had ever been dissatisfied with a haircut, yet this woman accused me of being consistently unsatisfied and high maintenance. I don't appreciate being spoken to in a patronizing way. I regret that this one altercation caused my family to end our long relationship with Dogs Day Inn. But this woman made me feel so uncomfortable that I'd rather look for a different groomer (per her request) than ever have to communicate with her ever again. read more

Although we love Brandi, she was not present when we dropped and picked up our pets. Our cat was in the worst condition when we picked her up after a 8 days stay. Upon pick up we Immediately rushed her to the animal ER, where ultimately they put her to sleep. Yes, we were notified she had cancer at the ER...we did drop her off her good condition. She obviously took a turn during her stay. HOWEVER, the vet said she had been in pain, dehydrated and dying for days! NOT one call from the kennel, literally no concern even when we she was brought down from the cat kennel. She was limp, major weight loss and crying in pain. The girls working up front didn't even notice when I questioned them. We know the kennel is not to blame for the cancer, but they are responsible for communication! WE have asked the kennel to at least cover the cost to rush her to ER directly from picking her up from their care. The owner, who has yet to even contact us the self. They have all other employees doing their dirty work. The owner stated they won't pay because the cat had cancer. We are so Incredibly disgusted by the lack for care and professionalism from thr owner. Our poor cat had been sick for days and in major pain. If we wouldn't had come home 2 days early from our trip she would of died in their care alone and helpless. We pay them to watch our animals and notify us and our vet (who's information they have on file) if any odd behavior is noticed. We heard nothing! Again Er vet verified to be on the condition she was in when we took her in, she would have had been like this for days and was not an overnight turn of health. We have been trying to work this out quietly and privately hoping the owner would do the right thing. Not good. We took our two dogs here for 4 nights and when we returned to get them our one pup had a huge wound on his neck. They told me they just noticed it as I picked him up. He had to be rushed to the vet immediately. They should be paying for the bill but they won't. 1 Star is too many. I am completely disgusted with this facility. I should have known when i dropped her off for doggie day care and Amy along with two other people were out front smoking and dispersed when they saw me pull up. They were very nice when we toured it and gave her a free day of doggie day care to get used to it, but that's about it. When I arrived to pick her up at the specific time we said, Amy first tried to overcharge me by $100 dollars and only when I asked for an itemized list of the costs did she fix it. When they finally brought her out, they "forgot" her huge bed, harness, and collar w/tags...which they were looking for for 30 minutes and still could not find. They were not able to tell me one thing about her stay other than "I've been gone and off for the past three days and my staffs all new" with a shoulder shrug. Dogs Day Inn in Cypress, use to be our go to place. Management must have changed. We boarded our two dogs; a Lab and a Terrier-Shih-tzu mix for 15 days. When we picked up our dogs, both looked malnourished, even though we had left plenty of Science Diet with them(took some food back home). Our little dog who was boarded in one of their "suites", was a nervous wreck, something we never saw before on previous visits. There was a towel they had placed in the little dog's crate that had diarrhea on it. We got the dogs home and they drank large amounts of water, but would not eat. Both had diarrhea and vomiting. We took them to the Vet the next day. The Vet said they were dehydrated, malnourished and had bacterial infections. For the tests and medications, we spent over $250! I tried to call the manager;Alex, however, she was unresponsive. I left several messages for her to call back. Her workers said she did not come to work until late in the day. Alex finally called my wife and told her the dogs must have become sick when we returned home. She said she would get us a discount on the next boarding since we were good repeat customers. She said she would review video tapes and let us know those results. We never received a call back. We know from the Vet, our dogs became ill at Dog's Day Inn. We spent over a thousand dollars $1,000 for this boarding and were asked if we wanted to leave a tip! We will find some other place to board our pets next time. read more

My dog stayed at dog's Day Inn and got the kennel cough. He's been boarded at different places many times and we've never had any issues. He's been to the dogs Day Inn and cypress several times and as soon as we walk in we can see he gets nervous. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you cared about your dog. read more

This place is a win-win for both me and my dog. It's right off Barker-Cypress by 290 which is a convenient location to hit up on my way in or out of town. Their hours are great for those of us who work days too (7a-6p). On my first visit here I asked to be shown where my dog would be staying and they took me back to see it right away. I didn't get any of the "you have to schedule an appointment for a tour", or "wait while I get someone to help you (aka- were going to do a quick clean job before you see it)" all of which are excuses I have heard before from other boarding facilities. This location is very clean and I got to see the exact space my dog would be in. He weighs 65 lbs. and their kennel was more than enough room for him with a doggie door in the back so he could go inside/outside at his leisure. This is a feature I love because he is very indecisive and this gives him control of his climate. I also like that the doors are solid plastic from top to bottom because there is no way an animal could hurt themselves on it (as they could on cage bars) or accidently get out (in the case of smaller dogs). My dog happens to be a problem child requiring daily medications. All the girls that work here are very sweet and gentle with him and they always remember his name and to ask for his meds when we come in. They are also diligent to give me a progress report on how he did during his stay when I come to pick him up (a very nice and appreciated personal touch). We have gotten to the point where he is actually excited to go to the kennel! Their kind and calm demeanors added to his obvious enjoyment give me peace of mind about leaving him with them. They also offer grooming services which I have taken advantage of as well. He always comes home from a bath smelling great and wearing a super cute bandana. (see pic) For the quality of services they provide I think their prices are extremely affordable. What a shame. Pretty disappointed with Dog's Day Inn here in Cypress. We boarded our dog here last week and she came home a mess. We told the staff that we had recently lost her 'brother' and she has been grieving pretty hard. I even took her to our vet who was kind to offer to go get her in case she got worse. We asked the staff for a little extra attention - make sure she was eating properly and not acting out of sorts; if so, please contact our vet. We picked her up on Monday and she was extremely vocal the whole trip home. She smelled horrific - not as though she'd been playing and had a stinky dog smell, but as if her kennel was never cleaned. She had also lost weight; I am able to feel her back bone. She whined a lot on Monday night and slept most of it and Tuesday. She's also been very hungry; my husband noted that her food bag was still very full when he brought it home. I understand things happen, so I called on Tuesday and expressed my concerns, and also asked for some feedback from management. I have yet to receive any response. I wanted to know why my vet was never called, why her bag of food was mostly full after boarding, and why we were never contacted. I have three dogs and have boarded them here several times, usually for 3 to 7 days at a stretch. Now I'd like to point out that when I take them to the vet I usually have a real hard time getting them out of the car... They know what's coming! But when I bring them to Dog Days I can tell they are happy to be there. They stay in the junior executive suite, which is a good size for the three of them to hang together, plus it's air-conditioned and not noisy like the open fence kennels. The last time I went, there was a new young lady working the front desk who wasn't all that friendly, but generally the staff is sweet and you can tell they are very much into animals. My kids will tell you that I love my dogs more than I love them (of course, the dogs don't stay out late or talk back), and I would not trust just anyone to take care of them when I travel. I wanted to wait a day or two to allow my anger to subside before I decided to write a review so I could be as unbiased and unemotional as possible. With that said the last day I did business with this company was on the 16th of June 2015, and here's why: Went to pick my my dogs and they were soaking wet, covered in their own poop and one had a lacerated eye, which was verified by my vet the next day. In addition. To his eye injury he was acting terrified of the people there and couldn't wait to get out of there. When he got home he was still scared. In addition I did not find out about the eye injury until I picked them up and it was me that noticed the eye injury. No staff member offered to contact me and let me know, "hey your dog got injured here's the deal you may want to come pick him up". The manager at the Cypress location is not good. She constantly complains about her job and the staff which brings me to the other issue. The staff turn over is excessively high. I asked the manager where one of my favorite employees was and the manager volunteered that she had quit. The manager then went on to tell me details as to why she quit and that the employee who left said that the manager ran her off because she was pregnant and was unable to do certain tasks. This put me in a very uncomfortable position. Maybe it's just me but you should never air your employee, employer dirty laundry to your customers regardless of the situation. I could go on but there's really no need. I am not taking my dogs there ever again regardless of how inexpensive they are. Super convenient location and nice facility, however attention to detail is not something they excelled at. We boarded our two dogs in an executive suite for two nights. I logged into the web cam to check on our dogs after their first night to find that both of their beds had been piled on top of the bed in the "suite" making it so neither dog could use any of the beds in the pile. Thus only allowing them to lay on the concrete for their first 20 hrs there. They did rectify the situation after I called to complain. They did a nice job bathing the dogs, returning them clean and fresh smelling. At drop off we detailed a specific diet that the dogs are on so as not to pack extra weight on a recently surgically repaired leg. Both dogs are noticeably heavier/bloated after their stay. We have no proof, but suspect they were fed far more than we requested at drop off. This place has so much potential, but you don't get return customers when you offer poor service like this. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This was my first and last time using Dog Day Inn in Cypress. I dropped my dog off on Friday (Terrier Mix) and the women working seemed super nice. I was kind of hesitant on boarding my dog since I have never done this before but I felt like he would be in good hands, boy was I wrong. When we picked him up on Sunday, he was brought out smelling of urine and had pieces of poo in his fur and on his paws. I was informed that his bed and blanket were in the wash and if I could wait 20 minutes, I now know he messed in his bed and they let him lay in it. I then discovered all the food I left for him had not been touched. My dog is very sensitive to different foods and after leaving specific instructions on how to feed him, they chose to ignore it. When I was shown what was in his food bowl, the pieces were too big for him to even chew! Now reading additional reviews it seems like this is becoming the norm for this place. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and we knew none of this was her doing. She did refund our money and went onto explain that they close at 6 pm on Saturday and do not reopen until Sunday at 6 am. Pets must go 12 HOURS, 12 HOURS without relieving themselves. When we got home he drank buckets of water and ate like he had not been fed the entire time he was there. I am keeping an close eye on him now to make sure there is not an emergency vet trip in the near future. My husband has called to speak to the manager and still no return call. Please, beware of Dog Days Inn in Cypress, not a good place to board your pets. read more

I think this location is awesome the lady at front is amazing I can't remember her name but she is always there and is so friendly. My dogs always come back smelling amazing and worn out. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!!!!! Never go to them to board your dog. My husband was picking up our two dogs and my moms dog and they gave him the wrong dog for my moms dog, which looked very similar to him. They called him 4 hours later to say to bring the other dog back and didn't want to resolve the situation with him about the inconvenience. I tired to call and talk with the manager and the rude lady on the phone wouldn't do anything because the manager wasn't on site and had no back up number. Then she hung up on me when I said I needed to talk with the manager today. I would give them no stars if I could. Again never take your dogs to them, HORRIBLE customer service and they cant keep track on the dogs they are supposed to be watching. 6/30/16. Went back for a third time to get my dog bed back and my dogs medicine. They finally found the bed after waiting a long time. Louann proceeded to tell me that it was my husband's fault because he describe it wrong to them, even though the bed was labeled with the dog's name, and they are not liable for losing your personal items! Really, how can a business lose your dog's bed and not take responsibility. While I was waiting another owner was picking up his dogs and wanted his dog food and medicine. They gave him a bag with medicine that was for a different dog with the same name. I sure hope they didn't give the medicine to the wrong dog. Your dogs are not safe here! They lose your dog's items that are supposed to help them be ok during boarding, They argue with you about the type of food your dog had, they cannot keep track of medicine and which dog it belongs too, they gave away the wrong dog to the wrong person. My aunts dog passed away late last night after being picked up earlier that day , the dog was pretty much skinned and acting very stressed and not her self , she was taken to a specialist at A&M where they said that she went through a traumatic experience and had trouble breathing ,then later passed away , the dog was fine when she was left in the dog days inn care and now is no longer with us . when the family called not to blame this company but just to ask questions the staff was extremely rude and defensive . I have used Dogs Day Inn for grooming our 4 dogs for 6 years. They have always been great, grooming services have always been excellent. However, we will not be bringing our dogs back. I do not wish to go into detail of my experience but will say that their management must have changed and it is obvious that they are busy enough that they do not want or need my business. DOGGIE DAYCARE NIGHTMARE: I took my 6 month old Great Dane here because i wanted her to play and socialize with other dogs. I was VERY nervous about leaving her since we have had bad experiences with boarding facilities in the past with our other pups. This place was new and had alot of good reviews so i thought i would give it a go. When i called about the daycare they told me it was inside but they also took them outside for a little bit for potty breaks. She had a full-day of daycare. I dropped her off at 7:30am and I picked her up at 5:15pm. Before i got her I asked them to show me where the daycare was and the process. The staff proceeds to walk me outside to the side of the building. I began to get nervous. Keep in mind it was JULY and about 100 degrees outside. There daycare is a backyard/ ditch area that is on the side of the building and EXTREMELY HOT!! The sun during the afternoon just beats off the steel building and it was unbearable. It was muddy from it being a sloped backyard, which at the bottom of the slope is pure mud. The staff person then proceeds to walk me to the kennels..there was my dog COVERED in mud and stunk to the high heavens. As soon as i put the leash on her she couldn't get out fast enough. NEVER AGAIN!!!! If i wanted to leave my dog outside in the heat..I COULD DO IT FOR FREE IN MY OWN BACKYARD!! I did make a mistake by not checking the daycare BEFORE dropping her off. I surly have learn my lesson. read more

I love, love taking my Doggies here. They treat my babies like royalty. I take all 3 of my Shih-Tzus in for grooming and when I pick them up, they always look very neatly groomed and smell extremely nice. The young ladies who work here are also very nice and accommodating. I live within walking distance of a grooming salon, but make the extra effort to take my Doggies out here. Their pricing is also very affordable and they do a wonderful job and offer many other great services. Would highly recommend! read more

Awesome, awesome, awesome. All I can say. I have 2 chihuahuas, 1 is very old, the other was abused and known to be a biter. The girls at the front (Brittney, I think and another girl whose name I shamefully can't remember) were wonderful. Friendly, courteous and informative. Called a few hours later to let me know they were ready and I wasn't close so they said I could get them on my way home. They were clean and smelled wonderful. Additionally going in and out I saw many happy dogs coming in and looking very excited to be there. Good sign! On top of that my bill was less than 40 bucks for both dogs! I just boarded my dog here for the weekend. It was his first time being boarded and I was really nervous leaving him. We got him the executive suite which is a good size and he got a tv in there and we got Internet access so we could log in and check on him. The fact that I could check on my dog myself was helpful for calming my nerves. The staff here is also very nice and friendly and made me feel at ease leaving him in their care. The only thing I didn't like was that at night you can't see your pet through the Internet because all the lights are off and it's really dark. But all in all the place is great! I would definitely recommend them to a friend and use them again myself. read more

Stopped by Dogs Day Inn with the intent of getting better information of the facility. One woman was busy on the phone so we approached the other lady that wasn't. The entire time her eyes were half closed. Not a moment where her eyes were completely open. It was really bizarre. She even mentioned she was tired. We were really hoping we'd be able to get to look around but there was no offer. I certainly didn't leave with better information. Instead just disappointed. Considering we live so close and how convenient it would've been; it's just a shame. We then drove around just to see how big the outdoor area was. We saw this guy let the dogs out. Light his cigarette. Then walk back inside(with his cigarette). Then I remembered the half-asleep lady said the dogs will be "supervised" when they are let out. Not happy at all with the grooming service that my dog received here. Worst haircut ever!!

First of all, my dog can't wait to get out of there he was extremely nervous leaving the place he couldn't stop shaking. Second of all, Their staff (specifically their manager) is awful. They do not care about punctuality nor basic manners. I'd made an express appointment (a week in advance) in order that my dog could be in and out of there when in return they took over four hours, making me late for work. We had taken our dogs here for the past 8 years. We travel quite a bit, so probably board 5-6 times a year. No more here. The last few rimes, staff has been indifferent to downright surly. Have tried to call to make appointments and get no answer and there is a full mailbox for two days straight. Web site hours and hours printed on the door are wrong. Both say they are open Sundays, but when I stopped by because nobody answered the phone, a harried woman came to the door and told me "that's wrong. They need to change that." Who is THEY? YOU work there. How about WE need to change that - a place where staff don't feel invested in the business and the customer, and have a "that's not my job" attitude isn't a place to which I want to entrust the well-being of my pets. If understaffed, hire more people. On a holiday weekend, when they know they will be busy, they should hire extra staff or at least have someone clear the voice mail box (even if the owner has to do it - that's what you do when you are in a customer-service driven business.) We will be going elsewhere with our two dogs. read more

We took our 4 month old Shih Tzu mix there for her 1st grooming. As it grows out, it is the choppiest job I've ever seen. She looked bald at first and I thought it was just because her fur so long to begin with. The front staff was indifferent. Didn't care for the cologne at all on her. I'm currently looking for another place. Don't think we'll go back. read more

We used to take our dog to petsmart and he would always resist going to daycare I guess cause they make him stay in his room all day and only take him out twice. But when we take him to dogs day inn, he starts whining and crying because he is so excited, the employees there seem to be good people too. read more

Long overdue review! I've been using Dogs Day Inn since they first opened this location in Cypress! I have used them for both boarding and groomIng for my 2 Maltese and have always been very pleased!!! The girls are very friendly and accomodating- and Sophie and Paris look adorable when I pick them up!!! read more

I have taken my Scotties there for a number of years. However about six months ago, something changed. Two Scotties came back as Westies. My westie came back with a poor styling. Just picked up my scottie (a rescue) and the head was styled as a westie. The body was closely shaved with no attempt to build a skirt. WHile promises are made to call when the dog is ready, it hasn't happened in the last four trips. Attempts to call are either placed on hold and never answered or roll over to voice mail. This is a shame as they used to do excellent work. read more
