On October 16th 2025 , i found that Sophie had a broken leg and injuries after a car accident. Sophie is my 12 year old Yorkshire terrier that i had since middle school, I'm in my third year of college. She had been a consistent, loving companion for me all my life. At True companions I did receive well care consulting, ensuring Sophie had oxygen , and discussing the next action. Unfortunately, I had decided to put Sophie down, it felt unreal. I got to say goodbye and held her in my arms. After, they had discussed which urn I would like for her, so I pick one and write it on the order paper. A week passes, I get a call from true companions that her paw print is ready. On said call I questioned about her urn, Michelle (front desk clerk) said that we can discuss it once I arrived. At true companions , I am welcomed to Michele and she started to talk to me and then lead to "I'm so sorry" . She made the mistake of not ordering an urn for my baby Sophie and thus the last of my first companions remains is lost to the void. So she kept saying her sorries and refunded me money. We are repeat customers. Our dogs hip bone is out of socket. The staff is not trained for customer service. Our pet needed to get seen bc his hip bone is out of socket due to previous surgery from car accident. He needed a vet to look him over to decide next steps. When I first brought my dog here about 3 years ago the staff was amazing. They seemed to really care about the animals and making the families who were bringing their pets in feel comfortable. The new staff, which has had a huge turnover the last year or so, is absolutely awful. They're cold, rude, don't seem to have any care or compassion towards anyone regardless of the situation. I've had to put a dog down, I've had 2 dogs in medical emergencies, and they treat the owners like trash. It's absolutely horrible. If you're not going in there wanting to drop thousands of dollars on whatever they are recommending. They're just not nice. They don't fill prescriptions on time, they don't answer or return calls. They have you sit and wait in the waiting room and in the exam room for hours. Then charge you exuberant amounts of money to only later treat you like crap if they did their job wrong or if you still have a problem. Recently when I was there with an emergency for my dog they quoted me in the exam room, but when we went out to pay they told me the price had changed while they were helping my dog. In a matter of 2 hours? Is this how all vets are? It's literally turned into a machine just like big pharma. Disgusting. They make darn sure that they get paid! We have a Boxer Puppy who had two forms of Pneumonia. She had to spend the night several times, took rounds of anti-biotics, medications and pretty much ran up thousands of dollars in bills. I found out two things, one, I could have gotten the same care for her at about half the cost. That's okay, as we were the ones who decided to bring her there. We did get her from a breeder. (Couldn't find any Boxers in any shelters) We contacted the breeder and found out that they provided insurance for her. All we had to do is send the bills and medical records to them and they would re-imburse the costs. Easier said than done! We have called numerous times, emailed, called more, stopped by several times etc. This has been going on for over a month. The insurance company is getting ready to close the claim. Every time we try to get ahold of them we are told that we would get "a return phone call" yea right! Customer service at its worse!!! read more

Theyre closed on Sundays, yet online it says they open at 9 AM and on the door it says 8 AM. So don't waste your time like we did on a Sunday! Also, they're friendly enough but the service takes forever. They have no sense of urgency or other people's times. Appointment at 3:00? They'll get you in the room right away, but you're still going to be waiting 30-45 mins to even see the doctor. The doctor is great, so if you have time to sit around all day, then highly recommend! We just wish this place ran a little more smoothly and had better time awareness when scheduling appointments. And please get your Sunday hours together and consistent. read more

The Vet seems to be very knowledgeable and addressed all our questions and concerns however their office has rescheduled 3 separate Saturday appointments we had scheduled for our pup well in advance. I would prefer to give exactly no stars. This place is Horrible. If you truly love your baby, do not bring them to this vet. Here is my story. I brought my baby River to this person for a cough, on arrival River was able to walk, talk and would whine a bit. I paid the initial visit fee of $120, and proceeded to wait for the vet for over an hour, because she wasn't even at the emergency location. This place, please believe me when I tell you. Never bring your babies to this place, Worse mistake I ever made. Now I will tell you my incident. I brought my baby in for a cough/rattle in her chest. If I tell you that I spent 5 1/2 hours with no diagnosis, no one telling me what was going on with my baby and on top of that I was the only customer for that 5 1/2 hour. I would ask an attendant what was going on because NO one would come and tell me anything. when I would ask someone what was going on with my baby, the person would never come back with anything. My roommate was cold so she went to sit in her car. I was the only client, when I brought River in she was walking, talking and whining a bit. Once my roommate went out to her car, that's when I realized that someone at the office had locked us in the building. I know that this place closes at 12:00 PM and i was made to wait until closing to even see what was done to my dog. I had to have a worker push a button at the reception desk to let me out to get my wallet and I still was not told anything being done to my baby. Once I paid this $960 fee to be able to release my dog, the person behind the reception desk waited until my payment and proceeded to use a walkie-talkie and state "Were Good!" It was that time and the only time I wasn't even allowed to see my dog. When I got my baby girl back from this awful place. She was not able to even move, she was gasping for air, she could not walk or even sit up by herself. Yes, I had to put her down the very next day. No one would let me know what was going on. I wasn't allowed to see her or to have someone bring her to the room I was in. To this day I still do not have a diagnosis. I brought her in for a cough, oh I was sent home with cough medicine for her. Now I understand the visit fee, but I tell you that $960 fee for her to kill my dog is unacceptable. Oh yeah I was also told to bring my baby to a 24 hr hospital. Which I had no idea of the condition my baby was in. I got my baby girl back she was gasping for air, she could not walk, she couldn't even pick her head up. So basically I spent roughly $1200 in total, for the office visit, the diagnosis (which to this day I still don't know) I basically paid this company to basically KILL my dog. I swear to you once I got home and read some of the reviews, it appears that there are several of us with almost the exact issue with this place. I wish that I had NEVER brought my baby there for her to be killed, and on top of that I paid her a $1000. I can only say, just know the risks before you even think about bringing your baby/babies here. On top of it all, I was told that If I had to bring River back my cost would be $2300. This is the biggest mistake that I have ever made. I can honestly say if you bring your baby here, it is at your own risk. Every single person that had an issue had to put their baby down as well (Euthanized).I beg you, please don't do it. This place is utterly ridiculous. There is no empathy, no concern for you or your babies. I saw the vet once while being there but after that I did not see or hear from anyone, until closing. Such an amazing animal hospital. My cat Max became very I'll and needed immediate attention at 10pm. I called around and True Companion was the only one willing to see him immediately. We discovered he had a huge hair ball blocking his intestines. They were able to get it to pass within a few days without surgery. They took such great care of Max and they were able to give his panicked Momma updates every time I called. I am truly great full for the whole staff. Our dog was throwing up and would barely walk to get water. We called another emergency vet on 290 and they wanted us to call poison control first which was going to cost $75 just to make the call. We found True Companion on Yelp and saw that they were open until midnight. We took him in and they saw him right away. The vet called in a couple hours with an update and again in the morning. He started doing better once IV's were going. They were not sure what was wrong with him, and even discussed surgery as an option. That's the only reason I'm taking a star off because two people there had two very different treatment ideas and he ended up not needing either one. It was an expensive visit but all places are when they are hospitalized. Definitely recommend for emergency visits! read more

Zero stars! First of all the receptionist at this office is extremely rude. I brought my baby here a few weeks ago for an ear infection and the receptionist just had an attitude the entire time. Unfortunately I had to bring my girl back for a follow up today and my plan was to have today be the last time because of this. I wanted to check out another vet to bring my babies where the environment was a lot better and welcoming to my doggies. But today when I brought her in for her ear check up they brought her to the back for an ear swabbing and all of a sudden I hear a dog gasping for air really loud over and over I asked the receptionist is that my dog she said yes, so I went in there and grabbed her and she was literally gasping for air my baby could not breath. I asked what was done and the so called vet said nothing we just swabbed her ear. Lies! How is my dog going to come in for a follow up ear infection and come out gasping for air like she was being held down and choked. Then she has the nerve to tell me she came in like this!!? Are you kidding me! I immediately took my dog to the closest er and they had to sedate her and give her air to breath. Do not bring your babies here please! You will regret it I should have listened to my gut after the first visit now my dogs on medication and steroids for the damage that was done to her throat. read more

My dog was vomiting nonstop and I brought her in and although there were many other patients there, they took very good care of my dog and explained everything thoroughly. Update: we had such an awesome experience a month ago when we rescued a kitten (Fred) that we decided to take our other cat to them rather than Fairfield Animal in Cypress. We had been taking them to Fairfield for three years. I LOVE this new vet and their team!! Haven't had this good customer service EVER before. We've been having issues with 'Ethel' that we didn't seem to get much attention from with the other vet. True Companion spent at least 20 minutes checking her out and also a very lengthy discussion to get her issues taken care of. The vet was extremely helpful and gave us several really great options! Fairfield never did this! And, their prices are a lot cheaper than the other vet. True Companion is further for us to drive by about 15 min but the care they give is worth it! I'm writing this review after 1 week of bringing my cat home from this place since I did not want to risk them doing anything to my cat while he was there . Took my cat in because he weren't able to pee, they had me paid $109 for my cat to be dropped off and seen by a doctor. Doctor is Groemminger, she sent me the diagnosis and the procedures needed as well as the bill. At the vet they had me sign a bunch of paper one of them being "paying everything at discharged" and also a pdf was sent to me saying that I will need to pay when my cat gets discharged. I dropped my cat off around 7pm and around 8:30 from a receptionist saying that I could do some payment plan but I wasn't able to get that to work , then I told them that I'll be paying everything in cash when my cat gets discharged, receptionist then told me I need to go back there and pay everything before 10pm. I told her that I got a pdf saying I pay at discharged , she had to go on hold and ask the doctor (Groemminger). The doctor then picks up the phone up with an attitude and i quote "This is our policy and you need to come up here before 10pm and pay everything or we are not going to work on your cat" I then tried telling her that , everything I signed and the pdf saying it will be paid at discharged. She then said ,another quote by this doctor , this time even more frustrated "I'm not going to argue with you , you have 3 options : Come here before 10pm (mind you they open until midnight) and pay the bill , we EUTHANIZE the cat because he's going to die anyways , or you come take your cat somewhere else" . Note that I've never raised my voice at any of these people and apparently all their calls are recorded. I then sent over my card info to them to which they charged my card instantly. My cat ended up doing well got discharged early , which means they needed to refund the money that weren't utilized in the bill. Talked to one receptionist and she said the manager not there she'll leave a note for the manager that handles refunds. The next day comes I heard nothing from these people , mind you they open at 8am and I called to see if there's a manager there at 11am , the receptionist told me that the person that was in charge of doing that had already left. Which means they never seen the note that was left by the other receptionist nor get started on my refund on the day my cat got discharged , I wish they had the same quickness to refund my money as much as they were when they were taking it (gave me a deadline). Please look around for better places and people that actually care for your pets and not your money. read more

My dog went in with a torn CCL. Doc explained she needed X-rays to determine diagnosis and medicine for a week or so to help mitigate the pain. I was told they would have the x ray results within a few hours. This was on a Friday and I had to call on Monday to inquire about the results. First time I called they hadn't got them and would send it. Meanwhile two different staff members called me to ask how my dog was doing. So they can't get on the same page on whose checking up on who and where my x ray report is. Called a second time and asked about the results. They had them and would email me shortly. Then the doc would call to follow up with me. Got the email and doc never called. Called the next day and was told the doc would call me. Called later that evening and was told the doc would call me. Here we are almost two weeks later with no follow up from the doc. Charged almost $600 for X-rays and medicine with no follow up afterwards. I don't recommend this establishment. He genuinely loves animals and you can tell, he always loved on my pups and played individually with them while checking up on them. My disappointment comes from the front desk clerk who was rude. Being new to the area, we had to find a new vet for our furry son. They quickly connected with our old vet to get his records got him in in the next week to keep him up-to-date for his shots. They are friendly and fast,the facility is clean and new and we really couldn't ask for anything better. Have taken one newborn kitten and one cat here and both passed away shortly after our visit. The kitten was bathed and ended up dying from hypothermia. I don't even know what happened to the cat because we left him there for observation for a few hours. When I picked him up (it was late) he was sleeping in a crate and the next morning we found him not breathing in the exact same position as when we picked him up. Dr. Trujillo and his nurse are our guardian angels. Our elderly cat that was recently diagnosed with cancer, let us know at 10pm on a Saturday night, that he was unfortunately suffering. After a previous poor experience at another emergency clinic in the area, I was panicked about where to take our baby. Luckily an Internet search yielded True Companion Urgent Care that was open until midnight. Dr. Trujillo and staff were so caring and understanding of our situation. We were seen right away and allowed to be in the room with Charlie until the end. They provided Charlie and us with an extraordinary gift of a peaceful pain free passing of our baby. Absolutely perfect. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances that led me and my wife to meet the team at True Care. Yesterday our beautiful baby Daisy was pronounced dead around 10pm at True Companion after 5 hours of trying to keep her alive because of Poisoning. It was incredibly traumatic for me and my wife to lose our baby. The team from Dr Groemminger to the receptionist were incredibly tender with me and my wife during the entire process of our baby trying to stay alive. They were caring and compassionate. They demonstrated calm in the middle of a lot of emotion , they kept us informed to the minute on what was going on with her. We could feel they cared for our pup as much as we did during her last hours. They did everything they could , from bringing blood in to do a transfusion to resuscitating her 4! Times. Around 10pm Dr informed us that it was looking very grim for Daisy so she allowed us to go see her and say our goodbyes. My wife couldn't stomach doing it but I went in to see my baby one last time and to my surprise one of the staff was still doing CPR trying to revive her. He was trying so hard to get my baby back. I approached and told him he had my blessing to stop , that I understood...... arguably one of the saddest moment of our lives seeing her there laying. I got to say goodbye one last time. There shouldn't be a STAR rating for people Like TRUE CARE. They put their hearts into their clients. They will love you through it and take excellent care of you. read more

Dr. Groemminger and Angie are fantastic. I wish I could continue to bring my pets here but the front end service is poor. I have had several issues and even spoke directly with the owners when I stated I was going to find a different vet previously. The issues continued, however, whether it was never receiving email responses or making mistakes on appointment times. The last straw was a $1700 bill 3 months after my dog had passed away. I knew money was owed and each time I came in they told me they were still working on finalizing it. That's three months of continual reminders of the beloved dog we lost suddenly. I asked for an itemization and was told they could not provide one until I paid and they printed out the receipt. I asked to speak to Angie and instead of a call I was sent the itemized receipt. I truly wish them the best and hope they can fix the administrative issues as they have the potential to be an excellent hospital with the care the two of them have shown. This review is not a reflection on the care provides to our pets. The care receives five stars all day long. read more
