I've been taking my dog since we adopted him about 6 months. It's a major plus that it is a minute from my house. I am so sad to see Sara go, but everyone here is super friendly and truly loves dogs! They have 2 large (air conditioned) rooms. One is for the smaller dogs and the other for bigger ones. The larger dog room also has access to a secured yard. Rizz is about 23 lbs, but likes to play with the big dogs. At first, both Rizz and I were a little uneasy about him being there, but we both started getting use to it. I love that on their Instagram page, they post picture and videos about the dogs and their days (which makes me feel good to see Rizz having a good time)! Nowadays, Rizz's tail wags when we pull up into the parking lot. He's even comfortable staying over night. I love that he gets his energy out here and is able to socialize with other dogs. We always get the 10 time pass, making the play dates $27/day, rather than $35. If you need to keep your dog overnight, it's $50. Definitely try this place out! You and your furbaby will love it! read more

We bring them here because our experiences at Dawg Dogs House had always been great in the past with the previous groomers. In fact we even expected to pay more because of this . After dropping off my beautiful dogs, and telling them we only want a puppy cut or a bit shorter. But not a shave!!!, I even called them to remind them not to SHAVE the dogs And. about 10 minutes later I get the call from this woman who says to me 2 of the dogs have already been shaven, and then goes on to tell me that it had to be done and how bad of a mother I am if I don't understand this. WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband immediately goes there to check on them and pick the other dogs up, THEY LOOK SOOOOO BAD, I've have been crying for 2 days now... A few years ago I really liked this place. I had good luck with my old dog. I still like the girl who works the evening shift, she seems to love the animals she works with and knows them by name. I will never go back. I have taken my puppy there multiple times and I will never go back. My dog lost 10-18% of her body weight the last 2 times we have taken her there. I was told she should have wet food, but changing food causes problems with the breed, and we have had no problems elsewhere, only here. She came back with ribs, hips, and spine sticking out. She looked like a skeleton, so we went and weighed her and she had lost almost 20% of her body weight. We went home, fed her the same food, same container, and she ate 2x what she normally eats. The last time we got her back with her legs covered in her own pee, bedding still wet with pee, barking at people, and afraid to be touched or have her collar touched. Before that, this dog does 10-14 hours alone with no pee, has never once peed her own bed, rarely barks, and does not shy away when you touch her. When she was brought out at 9 am, she peed all over the floor and her bedding was covered in pee. The only thing I can figure is that she was left in her cage with no bed overnight while her bedding was being "washed" and was not let out to pee until we picked her up. She has clearly been dragged/thrown around by the collar. This is hard for me to understand since she responds quickly and easily to verbal commands and hand signals. After spending thousands in boarding here over the last 5 years, I will be taking my dog elsewhere. read more

I could not be happier with DWP and the helpful people who work here! The facility is very clean and spacious. There's both indoor and outdoor play yards. It has been hot in Concord lately so very happy to know that the entire place has AC! I am able to drop off my dog every weekday at 6:15 am even though they don't open till 6:30 am. Now that's tailored customer service for you! My pup is so happy to be dropped off every morning...I'm a little sad when he takes off running bolting to get inside but when I pick him up in the evening, he's so happy to see me and gives me kisses. Took our 5.5 month old little girl Pomeranian LiLu here on a Saturday just to have some play time during all the rain. Best choice ever! The staff is amazing! They are all very professional and well informed, they will even take you through a tour of the facility (which met all of my expectation's). The rooms are all sheet rocked, painted with baseboards and nice flooring (like a home) there is a door from the main play room that they open to outside and this allows the dogs to go into a little fake grass area and get some fresh air or go potty out there. This place even has room heaters and air conditioners inside each play room depending on the weather. Our little girl loves them! She gets so excited when she knows she is going there and even wants the staff to pick her up and hold her. I brought her again on a Thursday and she was so excited when the worker picked her up she just was so happy she had a look of satisfaction and her little tongue hanging out. It felt really good to know she loves going here rather than is just sitting at a place waiting to be picked back up. Dogs Will Play has definitely got a lifetime customer with us, we would highly recommend this place to others! read more

We recently adopted a 1 year old pug puppy from the San Francisco Animal Care & Control- he came to us easily startled and suspicious of just about everyone. I brought him to Dogs Will Play one early afternoon in hopes that he would be pampered and put at ease by a nice bath, nail trimming and friendly people/pups. I'm so glad I did! I dropped him off, the staff was super cheery and accomodating, they were so sweet to our pug, and when we picked him up... His tail was wagging and he was giving kisses to everyone! Unfortunately I'm not satisfied with this place. It was my first visit & I had my dog groomed. First of all they didn't communicate with me that my dog would be free with other dogs. Yes I found this out because I asked after they took him to the back. Even though I was told the dogs were supervised I didn't trust because I don't know what size dogs my little one was around. Also when I picked him up he had sticky areas on the front of his hair, they didn't do the best job bathing him Also the location of this place isn't the best, it's actually in a dangerous area because it is on the edge of a busy street where cars are always speeding & if your coming from a certain area you need to make a u turn & hope no one crashes into you when you are trying to get on the far right lane after making a u turn & also when turning into the parking lot for this place read more

I really enjoyed my experience here for getting my dog groomed! Scheduling the appointment over the phone was really easy; Devon was great to talk with and very informative. The grooming itself was also wonderful! The groomer really understood how to cut the dogs hair for the style I was going for. With other groomers they've had to bring the scissors out and do more work with me next to them, instructing them on how to cut the hair. The nails were cut and filed down, and she looked wonderful! Definitely plan on coming here again for my dogs next grooming appointment! read more

They didn't log my dog into their system so when I came to pick him up they had no record of him being there. I was told this was the case for every dog in there that day. He also was not fed at all. They didn't not know where his food was and couldn't return it because of that. He came home starving and very thirsty. He did seem to have fun and since they didn't log us in they ended up not charging us. read more

I've used Dogs Will Play twice with my two Maltipoos and one twelve year old poodle. Both appointments were wildly successful and we couldn't be happier. Especially as one of the Maltipoos is an allergy dog with severe separation anxiety. He came home very relaxed and happy without any scratching or tears. I have been taking my two large dogs here for about two years for day care, play dates, grooming and one time for boarding. I have been pleased each time. The staff is very upbeat and friendly and my dogs get so excited when we arrive in their parking lot. This is the third doggie daycare I have tried. My German shepherd/cattle dog mix gets stressed out very easily. At the other two places, I practically had to drag her out of the car. We brought our 90 lbs APBT puppy here on short-notice and they had spaces available. The staff was very friendly and definitely dog people. They thought our dog was adorable and squeezed in a same-day appointment to have him assessed. They were observant enough to notice that he reacts to little dogs with intensity, and kept logs of his behavior with other large dogs while in free play. They never judged him for being a pitty, and he was very well cared for here. We ended up having to board him for over a week, and it's a little pricier than what we are used to, but the convenience of it's location and the fact that they were able to board him on such short notice (with it also being 4th of July weekend), helped out a great deal. They basically charge $35/day for day care and $50/night for boarding. Will bring my dogs back here again! read more

I have had my dogs come here multiple times for day care and pups came home seemingly happy and all was well. Recently I boarded the dogs overnight. Please know that no one stays at the facility overnight with the dogs. I happened to pose the question AFTER I had dropped the pups off and was boarding a plane for LA. NOT OK with me . I was told that it is OK there is a police station next door. What ? As a commercial property manager, A million things went through my mind as to what could happen. Finding people that my dog feels comfortable with is extremely difficult. She is a rescue, and still possesses many fearful traits due to her past. She normally doesn't warm up to someone quickly.... I was very excited to find a convenient local play space for my small dog. My first adventure there was great, people were friendly, and they assured me the space for small dogs would be ready soon. I came down on the agreed upon date and it was no where near ready. We set a new date and tried again. No go. I tried calling multiple times and got no answer. I tried again a week later and had to ask them to call me when the space was ready. They may like dogs but they don't seem very clear about customer service. It's been a month with no call. Additionally there is no way to see your dog at play, a real drawback that doesn't seem to be appreciated. This is potentially a great spot if they can get stuff together. read more

Our dog LOVES Dog Will Play! When we arrive, he runs straight in the door to go play -- after greeting and kissing the staff, that is. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic, and you can tell they truly enjoy working with the dogs. It feels good to leave our dog with someone who loves him as much as we do. We bring our dog here about 3 times per week and it helps keep him happy, allows him to socialize with other dogs, and tires him out so he is calm on the 2 days he spends at home alone. Dogs Will Play has been a true godsend for both us and our dog. It's a great place! I would recommend it to anyone who has a dog in need of daycare or boarding.
