Adopt Me Rescue - headed by Laura Dash and her friend Laurette - is one of the most compassionate, sensitive, and responsible animal rescues, that I have ever had the honor of working with. My family and I lost our toy poodle Shadow of 12 years, after we had rescued him at 2 years old. After he passed, we all had an empty hole in our heart. Until, we met Ridley - who was an 8 year old poodle - who recently lost his owner. As soon as we met, we could tell he was a good fit for our family and with our other dog (who is also a rescue) Harley, our 12 year old silky terrier. Adopt Me Rescue had a very structured process which was inclusive of an application to prove interior and exterior pictures of your property. This was followed up by an in person meeting with Laura and Laurette, and also the opportunity to meet Ridley. Laura and Laurette do everything to make sure that the pairing is a win-win-win situation. Most importantly, they want to make sure the pets that they rescue from kill shelters or strays, are placed in loving fur-ever homes. They also want to make sure that the family that is rescuing the pet understands their obligations and what their commitment is in taking care of the pet. Adopt Me Rescue also wants the relationship to work for them, as they place another loving pet. Laura has been doing this for 25 years and has an amazing memory. She and her team rescues animals from kill shelters, as well as strays and surrenders, but even getting dogs from Mexico that live in packs on the streets of Tijuana. A little cute, adorable boy, Ash, joined us two weeks ago through Adopt Me Rescue and officially became our new family after two-week-trial!! When he met our big dog first time, he was scared of him. So, we worried... but, Laura Dash, a founder of ADOPT ME RESCUE, observed how Ash acted after that and told us he would be fine. And, she said, if Ash won't be happy to be with our big dog after two weeks, she would pick him up. Laura was absolutely right. Within a few days, he started to enjoy his new environment and has been giving us lots of joy and laughter since then. I had the pleasure to be paired with my new best friend through Adopt Me Rescue. After my two Chihuahuas past away of old age in 2020, after a long period of time I decided to adopt. I was having no luck through other adoption groups, wouldn't even get an email back! So after trying one last time before giving up, I figured to fill out an application for Adopt Me Rescue. Within ONE day, I got a lovely email response back to start my process in the Adoption. My Doggy Advisor for pairing me was Laurette (super fantastic and easy to talk to). I initially applied for another dog but after getting to know me and my schedule she found that I would be paired with another handsome little guy named. So - we recently responded to a post about an adorable dog needing a new home. My son and I visited the dog and their bond was INSTANT and UNDENIABLE. the lady and her husband watched their interaction between them - basically picturesque and classic "boy meets doggie". I filled out the application while they played in the yard as I was then told that this dog was through a rescue. 1000 questions later I was done and the lady explained to me that she would help get things rolling quickly. Now, we had 2-3 dogs in our current home for the past 10yrs. All our dogs are/were very well taken care of. We have a dream yard - 13000sf property!! One by one our original 3 dogs to this house passed of old age/health complications. About 5yrs ago I rescued a Weimaraner. Still alive. Still happy here. Also - went through an adoption of a baby, a human baby, with Calif. Passing background checks and more, if you know what a grueling process that is!!! The lady who runs this facility has an ego that needs checked at the door. She denied our application because she believes my pool should be fenced in and she didn't like that I explained the success of our 5 dogs on this property, along w the MANY dogs that frequent our property w our visiting guests. She blamed it on his personality despite the fact that she has hardly spent time w this dog - as it is in her friends care!!! The same woman that glowed at the instant connection my son and this dog made. Since Wednesday, when making first contact, I was told DAILY that she would call me - and not once did she call me. If she truly did her diligence - she would know that that dog was about to have an amazing life here. I wouldn't trust this woman and from what I see on these other reviews - I am not alone. read more

ONE OF THE BEST RECUES ON EARTH. THEY SAVE DOGS LIVES! The people writing poor reviews here are writing them because they obviously got rejected or didn't get the pet they wanted from this rescue. I understand rejection is difficult and not getting the things you want in life is hard, but learn from it and don't sabotage because you didn't qualify. If this is how they behave in this situation I am so glad they didn't adopt to these people! This shows that they know their stuff, and these people shouldn't be owners. This rescue has the dogs best interest in mind and because of that, they don't just place dogs in any home haphazardly. They do a thorough inspection of your home and make sure you and the dogs personality are the best fit. For instance, if you cant gate your pool and you have a 3lb dog, chances are it will drowned in that pool. If you are 90yrs old and want a puppy that is not a good fit. If you cant handle the facts you have no right being a pet owner! Again, you have to qualify and your home has to qualify, pretty simple formula. I am all for the dogs, protect them please, too many people are irresponsible with them. read more

I met with Adam - super nice human and obviously cares about all the dogs in his care. I actually went to see one dog and ended up adopting a different much better-matched pup! The one pup I went to see was "too much" dog for me - beautiful energetic puppy-ness - sweet and clearly well taken care of, but I just knew he was going to need more training than I could provide - I am so thrilled and impressed with the flexibility and willingness to help match dogs with their new forever homes... These are good humans trying to save dogs and find well-matched forever homes. Be honest about what you can handle - it was tough to separate my heart from the reality that the pup would be more than I could handle... I volunteer for Adopt Me Rescue. I foster dogs. I know they are VERY careful about who their rescues go to. They rescue dogs from a lot of difficult situations and are very concerned about the well-being of all the dogs they place into adoptable homes. I know there are lots of people out there who would love to adopt one of their dogs. But Adopt Me Rescue is very careful to place their rescues into homes with secure yards or houses with people who will always walk their dog on a leash or will not place a dog into a house that doesn't have a secure pool area etc. Sometimes prospective adopters get very upset when they are denied the dog of their choice due to a possible dangerous situation. Since I foster dogs, I am also very particular about where my fosters go. I put everything into the safety and well-being of my fosters and it breaks my heart every time a dog leaves me to go to his/her forever home, enemy though I am happy for them. I foster because I want my foster to go to a much better home than the one he/she was rescued from. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to take a dog into foster care and care for it and place into a great home. I am sure some people don't know all this. I want all adopters to know that the ONLY thing that is important is the health, safety and happiness of all the dogs Adopt Me Rescue rescues. I was so excited to meet a dog they posted needed a home. An adult-only home, which I have. I didn't even sleep the night before waiting for their reply because I was so happy I could possibly take him in if he was available. Turns out, I get an email the next day saying he's available but they're declining me because "my home would be too loud." I live with two other adults, one which is never home. We have a very calm household with not much activity - perfect for this dog - but I wasn't even asked about it or asked to meet with them or the dog. They just told me no. Is it because I'm in my early 20s? Or because I'm a waitress, and they made assumptions? I'm not sure, but I'm heartbroken for these animals that are missing out on their forever homes. I am willing to open up my home, I have the finances, I have the room, I have the time, I have the love. He would've had a spoiled life. Such a shame. read more
