We've traveled many places with our camper in tow and often stop at Dogtopia. This review is for our local Dogtopia in Charlottesville. It's conveniently located on the Northern end of Albemarle County near Dunkin Donuts, Anytime Fitness, and the bowling alley. Our pups really enjoy going and it's so nice to have a place where they can exercise and socialize. They really enjoy it as they don't hesitate to go to the back after they go in. I appreciate the webcams so I can check on them during the day. They have a rest time from 12-2. Saturdays and Sundays are half days and so are Mondays throughout October.

My baby boy loves this place. He's always excited to go in. His home away from home! Staff is amazing and truly loves and cares for all the pups!

No warning about how expense Greenbrier would be. The cat got good care at Greenbrier but was not prepared for how expense it would be. Payment needed to be made in advance before any care was given. Had to run home and get another CC that I don't normally carry with be. The practice is open late Friday - Monday 7:30 AM. Had to pick the cat up Monday morning doing a snow storm still with catheter sticking out his rear. Then take him to properly only vet open doing the snow storm. They keep him while I waited half a day in the lobby. Was told best to keep the catheter in for 48 hours. Cost at Greenbrier $2,900 and another $350 at Meadow Creek. I ask them if I came to them first what the charge would be for the same procedure. Was told $700. At Greenbrier I was also told that my cat may need to go next store to the specially surgical veterinarians for a future procedure . That they were the only ones that did that procedure in our area. Cost would be about $5,000. At Meadow Creek they told me that they could do the same procedure and cost would be about $2,000. They put the cat on a special diet and medicine so hopeful he will not need to have it done. Can not say enough nice thinks about Mesdow Creek and staff. I expect that they will be my new veterinarian. Finale thought my father was a veterinarian and I use to help him out at his practice. I know a few things about the business.

Instead of support, we felt judged and pressured, which made an already heartbreaking decision even harder. Families deserve empathy at such moments, not guilt. Will not return and do not recommend.

Nice people who I think probably do a decent job, but after three visits and over $1000 I feel…read moreripped off and a little mistreated. I made an appointment specifically about my dog's chipped tooth because the website says "complete dental." I paid $80 to be told that they do not handle chipped teeth. They told me they'd call me for referrals, but it sounded like I'd probably have to go to some special place out of town that I logistically couldn't go to any time soon. They also never called with referrals. So I waited and worried for weeks about his tooth that I had wanted to take care of quickly. Two months later they call and say actually they CAN handle chipped teeth (?????). So I take my dog in again and someone finally looks at the tooth. He says he's actually not sure whether it needs to be extracted, but they'd do an exam and decide based on X-rays. they end up extracting the tooth and when I pick up my dog I ask why they made that decision. Nobody there can tell me, so I ask to get a call about it. Instead of that, I'm charged extra to talk to the doctor a week later when my dog comes in for his postop checkup, so instead of a 5 min call I had to pay another $80 when at this point I've already paid them ~$1000. I wasn't warned about this and I think I should have been. I would have said no. I believe I paid more than I should have had I been given information I requested over the phone, and more than once I was waiting for a call that I never received. My dog seems bothered by something in his mouth now, I assume related to his tooth, and if I bring him somewhere it won't be here.

Dr. Magill was very caring and gentle with Frodo and very good at explaining everything to me. She gave me suggestions as to how to make his "Golden Years" more comfortable and enjoyable. The office staff was very accomodating and helped me find the best prices possible for the prescriptions that my dog needed.
