A co-worker recommended Dogtown, and I am glad she did! If you have been following my trek around the state in search of outdoor roadside grills, you know this is my favorite type of restaurant. I got a 1/4 pound burger, added bacon, got the large fries, and a bottled beverage. It all came to $18 and was delicious! The service was quick and friendly, the food hot and plentiful, and the price about average for this meal.

Dog town is one of my favorite spots! My dad put me onto it earlier this year. They have amazing chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, and fries! The only complaint I have (which is kind of hard to control) is that the bees always bother me when I'm sitting outside. They prepare the food quickly and I love the outdoor seating (aside from the bees lol).

Stopped here on our road trip to Maine. Needed a quick bite to eat but we didn't want to grab any "fast food". Found this little hidden gem. Definitely a grab and go type of place, no seating inside. The hot dogs were delicious. I wish they were a little bigger for the price. The toppings are delicious and juicy, which caused the bun to get a little soggy. (That's my reason for 4/5 stars) quick service as to be expected, since it's take out only. All in all, yummy place that I would eat at again if I were ever in Connecticut.

I got 2 burgers & onion rings. The burgers were pretty good. Dogtown burger seemed like Big Mac made fresh. Krusty was seasoned better, in my opinion. I was looking forward to getting some skinny fries, but it seems like that's not on the menu any more. Onion rings were good, but seemed a bit pricey for the portion. Service was great. I might come back for some chicken burgers or hotdogs! (There are about 4 tables outside & some baby high chairs!)

A very small place to grab food with limited seating. I decided to get the dogtown burger and a plain hotdog. The bun for the hotdog was crisp and solid overall. The burger was thick and juicy, with solid amount of toppings. A great grab and go place and fair prices. I would not mind going back and maybe also grabbing those tater tots.

I'm pretty sure it was Milford's Elizabeth S that first told me about Dogtown, although many sing Dogtown's praises. I enjoyed everything about my first visit. Dogtown uses Rosol's hot dogs from New Britain, CT, like some of my other favorite places. The dogs are standard-size and fit the bun. I am not an over-sized dog person. At all. They split and grill them. The buns were also grilled. The buns and dogs were very well executed. I loved the Duster Dog, which shares some toppings (lettuce, tomato, celery salt, relish, mustard, pickle spear) with a Chicago Style Dog, but Duster still has its own vibe. Love all these toppings. I also loved the Mongo Dog with chili, bacon and slaw. Something about slaw, with its crisp texture and juiciness, on top of chili really works for me. The thin onion rings are my favorite style. They were very tasty and had good texture. I liked the skateboard vibe, which fits the Dogtown name. The outside area was cool and service was friendly. Dogtown skyrocketed on to my Best Hot Dogs in CT list. It beats one that I often see on lists as CT's best, and is on par with my other two favorite places.

Yummm! Finally made it to this spot! I'm excited about their extended Saturday hours! They are close to my Dad's but are now open for dinner on Saturdays! They were super friendly and our food was quick and fresh. It was quiet, possibly because of the heat but most days it's hopping there! My dad got the regular dog with the works and said it was super tasty! He ordered a side of fries, which I insisted on trying and was glad I did. Crispy and fresh! I got the CBR 1000 Chicken Sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors melded perfectly in every bite, and the chicken was fresh and delicious. The onion rings I got on the side were definitely the star though! I couldn't stop eating them! Yumm! I will definitely be back!

Always a good time when you come by Dogtown in Milford. Came here looking for some fresh drive in food and was not disappointed. I got the Zephyr Hot Dog which had some hot pepper relish, raw onion, chili and American cheese, was perfect. My wife for the Basic Chick chicken sandwich and we split an order of fries. Chicken sandwich looked very good, good size piece of chicken and kudos for the wrapping, individual wrapping of a chicken sandwich always elevates it in my eyes. The fries looked hand-cut, we couldn't get enough of them, they remind me of McDonalds fries, always a good thing. They have a nice side patio are for seating on a nice day, otherwise it becomes a take out place during the cooler seasons. If you're looking for some home cooked fast food offering delicious bites, DogTown is where it's at, can't wait to go back to try out some other items on the menu.

Grilled chicken sandwich and one of the rare days I opted for fries rather than Tater Tots.

Came here a few times when it first opened. Thought it was very good but like any restaurant it's all about consistency. I now eat here once per week. The tater tots are in point every time. I rotate through their chicken sandwich options and get it grilled every time. Again, it's about consistency and I'm not sure you're gonna find a burger shack, hot dog stand, deli, insert whatever New England fast food establishment you want.....you're not gonna find the quality and consistency that you're gonna find at Dogtown. Bonus points for the smiling faces behind the counter.

I had the Danger which tasted good, but you had to search for the hot dog amongst the toppings because as the lady from Wendy's once said - where's the beef? On top of that, I was here for the thin onion rings which prior posters had shown pictures of. Apparently they changed the menu 6 months ago to frozen onion rings with no character or flavor instead of what they used to serve which looked like Ted's from Buffalo. Sadly, they didn't care as the pictures on Yelp were not from them (they are correct) and therefore they take no responsibility for the mass disappointment. That was before the added insult of $18 for inedible onion rings, a 12oz can of Diet Coke, and a very small hot dog. The plus - the grilled onions and peppers were good.

Dogtown is a great spot for burgers and hot dogs. Although its a smaller space and intimate setting, there is outdoor seating. They were quick to get our order ready and it was delicious. We've visited Dogtown multiple times and enjoy it everytime!

It's a small hole in the wall hot dog place without formal seating options indoors (just a small space where it is barstool seating), but they have seating outdoors. No bathrooms for customers so bring some wipes for your hands and use the restroom before and after. They provide clear plastic covered utensils, condiments and napkins. Only opened from 11- 4AM in the fall, I'm not sure about the other seasons. Inside there's a large menu on top of where the cashier is located. From the menu I ordered Notorious D.O.G, Danger Dog, and the Totchos. I didn't particularly like the Notorious D.O.G. as it was over powered by red onion sauce. The Danger Dog tasted good because of the pico de gallo. However, I would've preferred to have gotten the Freestyle one where you put your own spin to it. There are other options as well. If you want more selection there are sandwiches, burgers, a kid's section, and sides. There's even dessert too.

For a roadside hot dog place, this is as good as it gets. Dogs are loaded w/ condiments and full of flavor, can't wait to try more.

With a peanut allergy, do you use peanut oil to grill or fry? Reviews read great, want to come try!

We do not use peanut oil to grill or fry anything. We do use peanut butter sauce in one of our shakes but the shake cups and spindles are cleaned between each use. (But for caution sake, maybe just avoid a milkshake.) Hope to see you soon!

Hanging out in New Haven, CT after doing some day-drinkin' and…read moreit's time to soak up the alcohol before we head back home so we stopped into Jordan's Hot Dogs & Mac who have been around for over a decade to see what it's hittin' for! Atmosphere/Appearance: No frills. Straightforward comfort food spot. TVs on the wall, black wooden paneling, some beat-up booths, bright-lighting and loud music. Lol. You're here for the food, nothing else. Service: You go up to the counter to order your food then it's brought out to you so nothing crazy, but very simple. Food: I got to sample quite a few things here, so let's go through them, but first I just want to let y'all know that this is a B.Y.O.B. spot! Woo! The O.G. Mac Dog: It's macaroni & cheese, bacon, jalapenos on an all-beef hot dog. There were so many different hot dogs to choose from, but I had to go with the original. This was SO FLAVORFUL. It tasted like a Nathan's dog, (but is actually a Hormel's dog), but altogether it was fantastic. The mac & cheese was creamy, the bacon was crispy and the jalapenos added just a hint of spice and a little acid. This would be the perfect thing to sober you up after a day/night of partying. Sweet Potato Fries: These were cool. They were crispy and very simple. They could use a bit more salt, but it was all good. Onion Rings: These didn't look like they were made here and that's fine. It's like I've seen these before at other restaurants and that's okay. Restaurants get stuff from the same suppliers so it saves them time. Moving on... Lemon Pepper Wings: These were a dry rub and the wings were crispy. These were very lemon-y and I liked that compared to them being too salty. The flavors were balanced very well. Garlic Parmesan Wings: These were delicious. The ingredients were caked on and that's always a good sign. It was creamy and the parmesan was a bit stronger than the garlic. It tasted like there was some extra hidden ingredients like a ranch or something that was in there, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I wish there was a bit more balance there, but it's all good. I liked them. Sweet Chili: These were not your traditional "sweet chili" wings. They had a Buffalo flavor aspect that I really enjoyed and I was literally licking my fingers after eating these! Jordan's Glaze: Another delicious flavor. The wings were excellent. There was a good hoisin flavor here that presented itself up front which gave a sweet, salty, umami flavor and was well-balanced. Philly Cheesesteak: On their cheesesteak is sliced sirloin, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos and cheese wiz. The bun was nice and soft. It was executed so well. The Maillard reaction on the little bits of steak added an extra touch that I really enjoyed. Though.. the sandwich as an entirety was a bit salty. Banana Pudding: This was really good, but comparing it to the best I've ever had (Magnolia Bakery), but this was EXCELLENT. The wafers were soft, but I was just hoping for a little more banana. Strawberry Banana Pudding: Everything mentioned above, but a little more exotic with the bold strawberry flavors. Really, really good. Value: The food is cheap, but doesn't necessarily taste like it. You won't blow your budget here and that's kinda the point. Without all the frills and overhead, Jordan's is allowed to bring you comfort foods and they can solely focus on the flavors. In conclusion, I loved it here. The food will stick to your ribs. Lol. But visit here in moderation. There's a reason they've been here for so long and I'm so happy I got the chance to check them out.
