This was my second time at Dogtown let's start with the good: - dogtown burger was nice - the mother clucker was also yummy - my spouse liked his hot dog and his plain burger - the kiddos did like tater tots - the skinny rings were crispy Suggestion: - change hours listed on Yelp/Google map (everyday: 11am - 4pm) - it took me a bit to find the menu the first time: placing a menu link on main page would make it easier for costumers. - the tater tots and skinny rings are way too salty (I think they're fine with no salts, but that à personal preference). - anything that is deep fried is holding on to all the oil which makes some items such as the tater tots and skinny rings which makes it uninteresting to finish (resting them on a towel and pat patting the can reduce the amount of oil consumed by costumers). read more

Very good food however the service was very disappointing. We ordered 3 meals for lunch: Rocco Burger, Famous Samboni, and a kids cheeseburger along with doggy style fries. When we left we noticed the tater tots were just regular tots. We went back in and they fixed them. After we returned home, we noticed the famous samboni did not include the pickle or coleslaw it was supposed to come with. Finally, we gave the lady behind the register a tip when paying for our order and she seemed apathetic and did not say thank you. Only been to this place 2 times but during those 2 times were some of the best food I ever had. The bun of the hotdog is buttered and fried a bit so you get the perfect amount of crispness. The hot dogs are grilled to perfection or at least that what it tastes like and the tater tots are godly. The place has a 60s feel inside of the building and it has outdoor seating. Looking for a food adventure, Tim M and I tracked down to Milford at about 1pm on a Saturday. There were about 10 people waiting outside and just about as many inside, which made me nervous at first, but the wait was brief and worth it. The hotdogs are definitely packed with lots of fillings. We split the Yuppie dog and the Danger dog. They were quite different and had unique flavors. The Danger dog included mayo and pico de gallo, and it was hearty. The Yuppie dog was packed with sauerkraut, and the sweet cucumber relish was a nice compliment. If you do anything, get the skinny rings. They're delicious. Oh, and don't forget the napkins. Good outdoor seating with particularly sturdy picnic tables fitted with umbrellas and ample parking. This place has no shortage of customers for sure. Dogtown is such a cool place to grab a quick bite. It has a food truck vibe with a little outdoor patio, so don't expect anything fancy, but this place packs a punch with flavor. I liked Dogtown, didn't love Dogtown. What I liked most about this joint? The California vibes plopped in a beach town in Connecticut. I was fully expecting the burger to be the star of the meal but the hot dog was the focal point of the show. I ordered the Zephyr dog and it hit the spot. Dogtown uses the technique of slicing the dog open a little bit to let that be a holding compartment for the toppings....smart. For my burger, I ordered the Dogtown burger. I was fully expecting it to be just as good if not better than the Zephyr dog but sadly it didn't meet expectations. To be honest, the burger patty was a little bland. I was expecting it to hit all the high notes but it was a little flat. Nonetheless I will definitely be back for the hot dogs since they are a success. read more

For a quick and tasty bite, Dogtown is absolutely great. It honestly looks a bit unsuspecting from the outside- just a small stand on New Haven Ave with a few picnic tables outside. As soon as you park, you could smell the food they're cooking up inside. On my most recent visit, I got a Mother Clucker sandwich (buttermilk fried chicken sandwich on a soft roll, served with lettuce, pickle, chipotle Mayo and coleslaw on the side). The chicken was piled high and crispy. The doggy style tots were a great side and totally shareable. Small building with 4 seats inside and the rest outside but really adds to the LA vibe they're going for. The hamburgers cooked perfect and have great add-ons. I know that it's been 5 weeks because I have come *at least* once a week since! I can't explain it but I've been on a chicken sandwich kick for the past few months and holy moly, Dogtown has ruined me. At some point I'll order something else, but I wake up salivating over the Mother Clucker. If I could give them a half star I would give them 4.5 stars. I'm excited to see a small place be busy and hope it stays that way for them. The food was good and reasonably priced. We paid $30 for lunch for 2. Two burgers, two shakes, and an order of loaded tots. I found it odd that the milkshakes were more than our burgers but I guess maybe that's "where they get you". It's a small place so expect to be crammed in waiting if it's busy. Hopefully once it's warmer they'll have some set up to announce orders on a speaker outside or something. Everything seemed clean and service was quick. The only thing I noticed was with my shake the employee used their hand to scoop up Reese's rather than just a spoon or wearing a glove. I would definitely go back and try other items on the menu. Other notes: I'm wondering how parking will work once the building next to them sells. Great hot dogs and tater tots! Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got there today. No place to eat inside but they have 4 picnic tables outside. It wasn't busy so I was lucky to get a table. I imagine in the summer you may have a hard time finding a place to sit. They have burgers, dogs, chicken sandwiches, tater tots and milkshakes. I had a dog with sauerkraut and mustard and one with chili and cheese. Nice snap to the dog when you bite into it. Chili was good, not spicy. They use American cheese slice rather than liquid cheese. Got the buffalo tots, they were spicy and delicious. Cooked well, nice and crispy and the buffalo sauce did not make them soggy. I do wish they used the New England style buns toasted with buttered sides but that's ok. I'll still be back soon for another hot dog fix. And I want to try the buttermilk chicken! read more
