I've been a loyal customer to Doguroo for over two years, ever since we were introduced to the company through the Puppy Play Hour. My dog loves day care and the staff could not get any better - incredibly kind, attentive and true "dog people" to the core. They even recognize my dog and I by name when we are out at Piedmont Park and such. The retail selection is great and they offer an extensive selection of top quality foods (the buy 10 get one free card levels out the cost). My dog also had a rough time as a puppy after coming home from the humane society. He vomited up all of his food consistently for many weeks, and subsequently failed to gain weight and developed a number of other ailments due to the lack of food. After a half dozen visits and innumerable tests (huge, huge bills), the vet could not figure out what was going on. I eventually mentioned all this to a Doguroo staff member who suggested that my dog may be allergic to chicken, which totally ended up being the case. Doguroo saved my dog a ton of suffering, when not even the vet could, so I'll be a customer for life. read more

I've been using Doguroo for about a year or so now. Sadly my dog doesn't go to daycare as often as I'd like, but they always remember him even if it's been a few weeks since his last visit. My dog ALWAYS comes back happy as a clam and tired (thank god!). I've been taking my Great Dane to Doguroo since about August, and I could not be happier. Every time I drop him off, I'm greeted by name, and he's greeted by name. He seemed nervous that I was leaving him the first couple times, but now he just runs up, tail wagging. It's obvious that the staff treats him like one of the pack, and I wish that I could afford to take him more than twice a week. We've also boarded him for vacations, and he's always seemed like he's had a great time. It was extremely easy to set up his trial day (called once about a week in advance and had no trouble booking a day), and it was fun to get feedback from the staff when it was over - they give you a folder with a temperament rating and all that. It made me happy to know that my puppy wasn't going to be spending a lot of his days in a yard with dogs that had not been screened in any way. Finally, they do a wonderful job with bathing and grooming. In the summer, we'd bathe him at the car wash station in our complex. But in the winter, we don't want him to freeze on the walk back, and he's too big for our tub. It's really easy to just drop him off for daycare and ask them to bathe him and clip his nails. Anyway - if you're looking for a place to take your dog for daycare, boarding, or grooming, Doguroo is the place. I have been bringing my cockapoo to Doguroo for almost 4 years now. I used to leave 5 mins away but still bring her even though we've moved thirty minutes away. I have peace of mind when I leave town knowing she's in great care. The groomers are AMAZING! I've taken Roxie to one of the 'big chain groomers' before and she came back looking like a drowned rat. The groomers at Doguroo take the time to talk to you about what you want and remember your dog when you come back. Also, they have a great selection of dog food and I trust their recommendations because Rox has a sensitive stomach. All in all, I love this place and Roxie does too! read more

*This review is just for the groomers* I've taken my dog here a few times and they always do a very good job. When I pick her up she seems a lot less traumatized than when I used to take her to Petsmart - so that's a huge plus! The only gripe I have is that they usually wash her before clipping - it seems a lot of places do this and I'm not really sure why. I'm going to ask this weekend that they wash her after her clipping so that she doesnt get hair all over the place! We haven't done much business with Doguroo just yet, but so far so good. I've bought food here on a couple of occasions, and they keep an excellent stock - and in lots of sizes - of the premium brands that can be harder to find online and from other retailers. We also recently used their dog wash station for our big dog. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. We may use them for grooming at some point, but booking far in advance seems necessary, so I don't know how feasible it will be. read more

I have been taking my dog here for about 9 months, when it was originally Wag-A-Lot....although I think most of the staff is still the same. I love this place because overall my dog comes home tired and wants to rest after her long day of play, and my long day of work. They have a large selection of great food and toys, and recently added a veterinary office which is fantastic because they can just grab your dog from daycare and put them back so you don't have to take time off. Also, they have free Starbucks coffee, it isn't the best but its freshly made and free so I guess I shouldn't complain. The grooming is okay, my dog looked pretty ridiculous when she left once... but it was probably because I talk fast and she didn't get it all. I did have one problem with Doguroo (incident occurred during the change from Wag-A-Lot to Doguroo) Whenever I would pick up my dog from daycare, they would bring her from a crate in the back. Then my dog would want to play when we got home, indicating that she did not get much playtime during the day. The second time this happened I got very upset and asked why they were doing this and the reply was "we have to close down the yards at 4:30pm to clean.' But I believe that if the operation hours last until 7:30, then I am paying for my dog to play until 7:30. After the third time this happened I talked to the owner and eventually found out my dog had behavioral issues so they had to place her in a pen when the other dogs were leaving. Nobody told me this until I basically had to drag it out of them. After this, Doguroo offered to give me a free training lesson so that they could stop the behavior issue from happening. The training and advice worked, and now my dog no longer has this problem. Since then, I have always found my dog playing until I pick her up before the place closes. This place is awesome - we love the staff and always know that our two dogs are in the very best hands when we go out of town. The webcams give us that extra bit of security and prove to be a distraction when at work and when we are on the road with family and friends. We love when Santa comes to see the dogs in December - our dogs, not so much, but we love the picture we can purchase! The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful and fully understands customer service. I wish we hadn't moved to Alpharetta and could take the pups to daycare more often - they love it and we love how tired they are when they come home from playing with their friends! :) read more

I cant say enough about Doguroo and the people that work there. I live less then a mile from their location and called them when my dog got out a few weeks ago thinking someone may have turned her into them. They actually came out in the rain to help me look for her and when i pulled up they were on the side of the road with her and the family that found her. They put her in the car and took her back to Doguroo. Already that was great service, but they gave her a bath and had to wash her three times to get the smell out of her and then they kept her in day care for the rest of the day. When I arrived after work to pick her up they refused my tip and would not even let me pay for the bath. They did it all for the love of dogs and animals and it was the best service I have gotten in any retail establishment in months! This is a review for the retail market as my dog doesn't do daycare. I love shopping for my food and supplies. I find the people who work there to be friendly, patient and helpful. I look forward to seeing the folks there and seeing the dogs as they come in and out. The quality of their product is excellent. The best of the best foods and treats. I've never had to return anything, but they do have a return policy as I've tried different foods/treats over the years. For boutique shopping, this is the place to go. Their location is not very obvious to those that don't live near there but it's nice and easy parking. Their decor is very nice and they are very good about taking care of the place so that it doesn't smell like dog. I like the fact that they look like they really care about me and my pet when I come in. They're very helpful in helping me find the perfect products for my pet. The prices are a little above average but it's decent. They even have a STARBUCKS machine inside the store...yes you heard me...FREE coffee for the customers that come in! I LOVE it! I can only speak on the overnight boarding and they do a great job! My rescue pup, Josie, is an... awkward pup to say the least and has always been very weary/scared of men due to her past. After boarding with Doguroo a few times, I saw an incredible difference to how Josie now interacts with men/people in general. She doesn't bark/growl at men anymore and is so much calmer when strangers come up to her and I can only think of Doguroo to thank! This place has really gone down hill-I used to go often to use the self service bathing area and to buy food and only ever encountered a clean and pleasant place. Let me say-I'm a total dog person! I worked at a vet clinic for 2 years before working at a service dog training facility (with 150+ kenneled dogs) for 15 years! I also breed and show dogs. I share that because I'm used to dogs, their smell, and how kennels smell...it's not always pleasant and I get that! Today, I went to pick up my friends dogs who had been boarded for 5 days. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was overwhelmed by the terrible urine stench...in the lobby!! I cannot imagine how bad it is for the dogs in the kennel area. The two dog beds I picked up smelled so terrible I had to roll all my windows down to get them home. They're outside to air out before washing and I can smell them from 10+ feet away! The dogs were supposedly given baths, but must've been put back in their runs on the dirty beds bc they feel and smell gross. These are two well behaved, middle aged dogs. This kennel is a breeding ground for germs. It seems dogs could easily break with stomach bugs, kennel cough, dog flu, etc. at any time with the lack of cleaning. Kennels are stressful enough on dogs and their systems, not having cleanliness is a disaster waiting to happen. Kennels that are routinely disinfected do not smell as foul as this place. It was 1pm-well after the overnight and morning mess. On top of the unsanitary conditions, the girl at the front desk, Erin, was a real charmer (hope you sense the sarcasm there). She was rude and almost non responsive. Management needs to clean house!! read more

My dog loves this place and goes bounding in tail wagging every time. They are very responsible and clearly dog people who geniunely care about each dog that comes in the door. My dog is scared of people, especially men and her favorite caretakers at Dogaroo seem to be the guys. This is a testament to the patience and care they put into each dog, even the more difficult ones. (All the women that work there are amazing too, the guys just come in at a disadvantage with my dog so I had to give them extra praise!) I would highly recommend for boarding and daycare!! read more

Sigh - I really liked this place yesterday and knew this is where I would bring my pup. Not so much today. I am on the search for daycare for my dog as I'm starting a new job that will require me in the office regularly. I can't remember the staff from yesterday to save my life but she was very, very helpful. After speaking with her, I was extremely comfortable. She told me the time I came was a busy pickup time and asked if I could stop by today. No biggie! Today, my friend and I stopped by. The staff that assisted us (Lexie?) was not very approachable from the time I walked in. I told her I was there for a tour and I gave my pup to another staff to hold while I took the tour. It really wasn't much of a tour and I felt like I didn't have to make another trip to take 3 minutes to see the boarding/nap time area. I was a little frustrated that I came back today thinking I was getting a full tour and that wasn't it. Also, Lexie speaks very loud and I almost felt like she was yelling at me or didn't realize how loud she speaks. I just felt like it was an off moment and she didn't provide the best service. Compared to the staff i spoke with yesterday. If this same situation happens yesterday, I'm sure I would've never came back. Service is everything, especially when dealing with our babies and we might be nervous. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! I recommend it to all my friends! Yes they have a great building with great amenities, but what gets me is the staff!!! They are always so patient with me - I can be really high maintenance when it comes to my baby. One time when I was picking my dog up, a worker was leaving for the day (had his helmet in his hand), and stopped and spent quite a bit of time helping me pick out a new bed. I have so many stories like that where they've gone out of their way to insure you (and your pooch) have the best experience. I've both boarded my dog and done the daycare, and I love them both! Best in Atlanta hands down. We looked at several places before selecting doguroo for our Mastiff. They always treat her as if she was their own dog. They remember her name and she is always really excited to see them which is a big thing as she is extremely shy around people. They also have big walk up bathtubs that you can rent out to wash your dogs which is really important for the big guys! Food, treat, and toy selection is excellent as well. read more

Moved to Atlanta 9 months ago & tried out a few places around town for grooming, day care, & overnight boarding. Doguroo became mine & my dogs favorite very quickly. They always do a fantastic job grooming my 8lb maltese! I feel good about leaving her overnight there as they have called me a couple times to let me know if she wasn't eating or actually needed more food because I had overlooked a day. I love bringing her there for day care. When we walk in everyone knows her name, even though I only bring her once every 2 weeks. She always comes home tired & they have webcams you can go online to watch the dogs play during the day just to make sure your dog is happy. I love the fact they separate the smaller dogs from the larger/more active dogs since my dog is on the smaller side. Being someone is particular about the care my dog receives, I would highly recommend anyone taking their animal to Doguroo for any of the services they offer. read more

So I used to be happy with this place because it was a clean and beautiful store with friendly staff. But I had called on a Monday to schedule a bath for Next weeks Wednesday. I called far ahead to make sure I got a spot because we were leaving town Thursday. The lady (wish I knew her name) had said I needed to send in necessary documents from my dogs vet such as ticks, etc. Okay Check. I also had to register her for release. For about two days their site was crashed so I was told I had my appt and could do it by paper by Wednesday 11:15-30 when I scheduled. 2 days later I filled out the application when the site came back up. I was excited. I wait and assume I was okay when Wednesday comes around. I walk in with my dog with a lot on my mind to get ready and she (Manager) tells me that they did not receive all of the documents. I say, "What do you mean?" and she says that I didnt get a flu shot for my dog. I said, "well is it required by Vets?" She says, "No, you have to ask for it." Well I was not made aware that some of what you need I was to go and ask for! She apologized for the miscommunication but that does not help that I literally cannot get her a bath anywhere else now that it's cut too close. She says, "try petsmart." Jerkish thing to say seeing theyre booked all the time! It's petsmart. Nothing is open last minute. And THEN ... She says well because of the holiday all dogs get a bath upon release to go home so there were NO SPOTS FOR ME ANYWAYS. I said but i made an appt a WEEK ago! I was so upset I had to leave out with a dirty puppy. As i leave she shouts out that I could use their self-wash. You know, I will never speak another good word of this manager but I do appreciate the building and food and the workers but I was treated a bit poorly and was upset with how I left out. I was going to board my dog here, but changed my mind when I was told that my puppy would have to spend majority of his time in a den because he was four pounds. I would expect for him to be able to play with small dogs, I'm not paying over $30 daily for him to sit in a den! The problem is that their "small dog play area" isn't really just for small dogs! Everyone was friendly, and I would have liked to board with Doguroo and possibly even do daycare since it is so close to my home, however, I am not going to pay to have my dog contained all day. read more

I joined yelp just so I could give Doguroo five stars! I work in film so my job and traveling makes it difficult for me to have dogs, however Doguroo is constantly stepping up and helping out. I have two smaller older dogs (9 yrs old) who don't necessarily like playing a ton with other dogs but because doguroo breaks their play groups into a quieter group and a more playful group I feel reassured when I board them here. We've never done just the daycare but the boarding is fantastic because I know they're getting plenty of attention and care. I can also check on them with the puppy cam! I also love the fact that they're connected to PetWell. I can literally have my dogs have their appointments while boarding at doguroo. This is helpful when bordatella vaccines are out of date. I've boarded my dogs at other places, and one in particular, they came back shaky and weird. Doguroo they get excited when we pull in the parking lot and they're excited to see me when they're done. AS far as the grooming goes the groomer pointed out to me an injury she saw in one of my dogs which was very helpful, but I've never had extensive grooms there partly because they book up so fast. Also the reception staff is AWESOME. i just email my requests and they get back to me in like 5 minutes. I always find out I'm traveling last minute and they always find a way to fit me in, their drop off hours are awesome and let me drop off my pups in the early morning before catching a plane so I can spend the most possible time with them (ya ya I'm one of "those people"). Doguroo especially impressed me over labor day weekend. I last minute realized I needed to board my dogs and they told me there was no room (understandable) but that they'd keep me on their waiting list. I said sure figuring "ya ya as if..." I then scrambled around to find a boarder who would take them without a "Trial day" and actually seemed like an OK place, but it was looking slim. Then Doguroo called me back like 10 hrs later, they had actually managed to fit them in! Basically if you send your dogs anywhere else you're missing out. This place is amazing. read more

Review of self serve dog wash only: I was disgusted by the lack of cleanliness in this part of the business. Dog hair everywhere! All over the tub, on the stairs, on the chairs, on the walls. I've used lots of different self serve dog washes all around Atlanta, and never have I been in one so unkept. Hair from multiple dogs, evidence this was not a one time situation where they just didn't have time to clean up after the last patron. The shampoo was also really diluted, causing me to have to use A LOT of the shampoo to get my dog clean. Lack of trash cans at each of the stations also made cleaning up hair from my dog as part of the wash difficult. There was also no trap over the tub drain to catch hair and make it easier to clean up. The staff never checked on me during the service or asked how it went when I checked out. I will be looking for a different place to take my dog this winter. read more

I love this place. More importantly, my dog LOVES this place. He is so excited to coming for play days, and skips through the parking lot to get here. We have boarded him for up to 8 days at a time and have had wonderful service. We did have a problem with him eating something that he shouldn't have -- but it was dealt with in a timely and productive way. I can't give this care facility enough praise! I brought my dogs in a few months ago for their "orientation" day and they both had their individual assessment testing for daycare/boarding. Not only did the staff hit both pups personality on the head but gave me a detailed sheet of their thoughts on the dogs personality. I had them boarded for a few days there too. I'm that crazy dog owner who takes them everywhere with me and does NOT like leaving them anywhere for extended periods of time but it has to happen every once in a while. When they were being boarded I sent a short simple email asking how they were doing. I got a fully detailed response in a very short time. I also peeked at the webcams every once in a while and noticed they gave a lot of individual attention to all the dogs. The staff weren't just filling space in the room they interacted and help stimulate the dogs minds which is a bonus especially if you have very active dogs. When I came to pick them up they offered helpful suggestions or tips for the dogs on what they noticed about them,so that right there you can tell they really pay attention to what's going on. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is bc of pricing. For a large care facility I would think they could offer a competitive price bc they are pretty exspensive ; but I guess you can't put a price on amazing customer service and love. read more

I came here a couple of years ago and Ashley, the groomer, was superb. She consulted with me on what I wanted and did it exactly. Unfortunately, they instituted a flu vaccine rule. Had my two golden retrievers groomed here for the first time with Ashley. I have not had luck finding a groomer that works well with golden retriever fur in Atlanta. I am SO HAPPY I found Doguroo. The two girls came out beautiful and not show dog style like most groomers try to do. We favor the natural golden look. Would recommend this to anyone with golden retrievers or dogs with long hair and multiple coats. read more

A bit late with this review, but I took both my dogs in for the temperament test a couple weeks ago, and they called me halfway through the day and said one of them did not pass and could not come back. I asked what he did, and they said he was fine playing with the other dogs, but the staff tried to bring him inside to a kennel or something for whatever reason, and he growled at them. He has never had any problems at other daycares, so I am wondering what exactly happened. Granted, I probably should not have taken them to a new place so soon after moving since they had some anxiety about it, but we were in a bind and going out of town that weekend so I needed somewhere to board them. My issue is that they charged me $50 in advance for the temperament test day, did NOT refund it even though they rejected my dog, and said he could not come back for a second try once they settled in our new house. I have been researching other places in west midtown, and NONE of them charge for the temperament test day so this is a freaking racket. I will tell everyone I know not to go here, and I will not even buy food at the adjoining store even though it is the closest place to us. Bye Felicia! read more
