I was watching my parents dog while they were out of town and it turned out she needed some extra care during the day while I was at work because of her separation anxiety. I started looking around Buckhead and BHV had the best prices and made the enrollment easy compared to other doggie daycares in the area. They do a free trial day and I could tell right away that their staff really cared. I loved being able to watch our dog on the livestream video, and even caught her being held, haha (she's the 5 lb chihuahua). While this pup isn't in Atlanta full time, we will definitely use BHV when my parents visit town and we want to do some activities that aren't pet friendly. Great place for doggie daycare. Ample parking, easy to get to. Prices are the same as other doggie daycares in the area. The staff members I encountered at BHV Buckhead were super helpful to me and loving to my dog. Webcam is a nice touch! I loved the photos they took of my dog, as well as the detailed report card. read more

I should have listened to the reviews for the Buckhead location (both on this page and their previous location page). I dropped my dog off for the temperament test. I do appreciate that the temperament test is free here, unlike other places. I watched her on the webcam for most of the day. She appeared to be very happy and was walking around with her tail up the whole time. But then her report card said that she was very shy and wasn't enjoying herself. It did not make any sense to me. There is an indoor play space with a garage door that was open to the outdoors and the dogs could walk back and forth. There was someone supervising the dogs in the indoor section of the play area, but it did not look like anyone was outside picking up poop or monitoring the dogs outside. Lo and behold when I went to pick up my dog, her collar was completed matted with poop and there was poop all over her fur. I pointed this out to the person working at the desk, she barely even had a response. When I asked her to help clean her, she just wiped my dog with a paper towel. It is very concerning to me that poop is not being picked up in a timely manner and that no one is watching the dogs outside. I was also shocked about the lack of a reaction or assistance. We had to put my dog in the car still covered in poop. read more

I have been taking my 2 corgis to this location. I love the report card I get after each visit. It is always informative and fun. Cameras to watch are a plus, but sometimes distracting if you are trying to work. The staff is always friendly and show their love to my dogs. That is what I ask for anybody. read more

First of all, the camera to view my dog was broken the entire weekend. I could only see the very corner of the inside room and watched 3 dogs, including my own pee at 11am so I imagine that was their first opportunity to go to the bathroom. There are no employees present in the room to watch all the dogs and pee/poop sat in the room for over an hour while all the dogs walk in it. I called the facility three times with no answer. Do not bring your dogs here. They clearly do not get any outside time to go to the bathroom. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this amazing place. I started bringing my dog to Barking Hound Buckhead a few months ago, and like any dog parent, I was extremely apprehensive to try out a new place and leave my dog with...strangers. Barking Hound Buckhead advertises itself as a "play all day" daycare, which is what initially drew me in. It is smaller than a lot of other daycares in the Atlanta area, but that's what I liked about it. I like my dog to have a little individual attention if possible. They seemed to be going through construction when my dog and I first started going, so needless to say the place wasn't very "pretty" LOL However, the super attentive staff put me at ease. When I picked my dog up from his first day, the guy up front gave me a little report card about his day. It was a very sweet gesture and they said he played the whole time, which I was sure of because he zonked out as soon as we got home! Ever since then, I've been taking my dog there regularly. When we pull up to the parking lot he starts barking in excitement and barely says good-bye to me once we walk through the door. As a doggy mom, that makes me feel like he truly loves it there. They recently finished their construction and have certainly spruced up the place. It looks great and I love that you can see the dogs in action from the windows in the lobby that look into the area where they play. You can tell the staff and the dogs really enjoy it there. I've seen the manager quite frequently and she seems to be very in tune with dogs and their human owners. Whatever they're doing at Barking Hound Buckhead is certainly working. Me and my furkid will continue to frequent them for daycare, it's his home away from home. We haven't done any boarding or grooming yet, but we'll definitely give it a go soon. This place gets two paws up! read more

I have a 3 1/2 year old large dog that has been going to camp since he was old enough and had all his shots. Because of his size (90 lbs) I wanted to try to find one that had a bit more room than the one we loved and had been frequenting. So, we tried Barking Hound. After going 2 or 3 times to camp, he seemed to have had a good time but the last time I had picked him up he REEKED of urine and was sticky. He isn't the type to "roll around" in anything like that so I called to follow up. After trying to get in touch with the manager and leaving multiple messages I gave up and decided he wouldn't go back there. Fast forward a few months later...I got a new job where Barking Hound was a better location...reluctantly I decided to give them a try again. I was assured that they were under new management and making a lot of improvements...great! My dog went to camp again, 2 or 3 times and was having a lot of fun. However, the last time I went to pick him up we had a problem...they brought me the wrong dog. Honestly, I thought it was funny, there is probably another dog named Shadow, no big deal. However, then they clearly had no idea where he was. After looking for a few minutes I saw them get him out of a cage, I was confused since he wasn't supposed to have been put up. When I asked what happened they told me they put him up to be fed....WHAT!?!?! My dog has an extremely sensitive stomach and was NOT supposed to have been put up or fed and can NOT eat food that isn't his (I will spare the details of him stomach problems that followed for the next few days). But again, mistakes happen. However, the 2 guys that were there were SO RUDE and had such an attitude about it, even defending the type of food they serve. I wanted to follow up with the manager to see if I could get a better understanding of how the mix up occurred and let him know how poorly the other 2 guys handled the situation. Again, mistakes happen and a simple "I'm sorry, our mistake, it won't happen again" would have sufficed. Well, I followed up with a call, an email, over 6 messages, and spoke with the "team lead" who was very nice about the situation but also never got back to me. After 2 weeks trying to get a response I gave up. Needless to say we won't be trying them again. Their customer service is appalling. read more

Barking hound village is the best! I have taken my 1 1/2 year old Aussie to several other daycares around Atlanta but this is the only place I know she feels most comfortable in because she hops out of the car and runs inside and doesn't look back at me! The staff always greets her and once told me they missed her and wondered where she was when she wasn't there for a few months. I love the webcams, photos and detailed report cards. read more

I have taken my dog to multiple doggy daycares in the area and this is by far the best! The staff is incredible and friendly and loves the dogs like their own. Every time I dropped my dog off I was welcomed with a "oh Freddie hi!!!". I can't recommend this place enough. Freddie always left happy, tired, and smelling fresh. He would lose his mind in excitement every time we pulled into the parking lot! Good people. read more

I've been taking my dog to the Buckhead location for over 2 years now. I'm not sure if they've switched management or owners, but I am extremely disappointed. You can see the indoor play area through a class window and the past 3 weeks I've been horrified. There has been pee and poop all over the floor. They let my dog into the pen and she was sliding in it while playing. It completely disgusted me. I've never seen it this bad, not sure who the knew team is but they have to work on sanitation. read more

For starters, the staff at this location are amazing & very friendly! I drop my puppy off early mornings for daycare & it's nice to start your day interacting with this staff. My puppy runs for the door soon as we arrive in the parking lot & she comes home worn out from playing & being entertained through the day! Not to mention the convenience of the location to my home.Also, they learned her name (Bellah) quickly & love to see her coming as well! It feels great to know she's in good hands while I'm working! Barkinghound is easily my favorite daycare! The team is caring and treats all of the dogs like they are their own. They are currently renovating the facility and I am certain once it it's finished it will be the best daycare in Buckhead! They have switched both in store management and company owners. So there has been MAJOR improvements! read more
