Infected belly, and cut paw from groomer.

Where do I even start with this poorly run business.. As a new customer, I called to get pricing information and book a bath & mini groom for my golden retriever. The man that answered the phone sounded like he was high as a kite - couldn't give me any pricing information or tell me when would be a good time to drop my dog off. He said, "it doesn't matter, you can drop your dog off whenever you want during the day." Im used to making an appointment time, and picking my dog up within 2-3 hours after - not the case here. A very unprofessional start, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I walk in the grooming location that day and wasn't greeted by anyone. The whole place smells like urine. Stood there for 5 minutes before I said, "can I get some help please?" Turns out, they never put me on the books and there was no record of my appointment. On top of that, they said my dog was way too big to play with the other dogs and would have to be separated all day. He's 55lbs and this was never once mentioned to me on the phone. At this point I'm frustrated. The groomer got angry and started yelling at me, saying that she's just a part-time groomer and doesn't care. I decided to leave my dog anyway (poor decision on my part). I picked him up that afternoon.. worst haircut I've ever seen. Honestly, a hack job. He looked SO excited to be leaving that place. All the dogs in there look really miserable and neglected. Half of them were hiding and scared to death. :( I found out later, that due to grooming, his underbelly had become very infected. His paw was also cut and bleeding (see photos). We went to the vet where he was put on antibiotics and treatment cremes ($200 vet bill later), I called pupcakes back to speak with the owner. HORRIBLE customer service. She not only didn't give me my money back, but blamed MY dog for all the problems that had occurred. She insisted that he tried to bite the groomer. My dog is a loving golden retriever who's never once bit anyone in his entire life, and gets groomed regularly. Makes me think that they were really mean to him.. If you love your dog, please don't take them here. All the dogs look very sad, aren't given any attention or water. It's run by a bunch of people who really don't care. There are lots of other dog care businesses in Atlanta, I'm begging you to please explore those options.

This is just some of the cuts I noticed when I got home. Many more that I couldn't take a pic of bc it hurt him and he just wanted to sleep

I have taken my 10 year old maltipoo to Pupcakes a few times now to get groomed. This last time put me over the edge. It was very odd when I picked him up, he was all by himself and wasn't excited as usual to see me. When I came home I noticed blood and cuts on his stomach and other places on his back legs. They also clipped his nails and few you could tell were bleeding. I am so upset I left a tip. I will never be taking him there again. Horrible customer service as well. The only thing the lady said to me was do you want a copy of my receipt. Stay away!!!!!

Took my dog to get groomed. They shaved him for no reason. Clearly they don't know what they are doing. Never take your dog here.

Bleh! Dirty and rundown. I don't know what kind of pet owners would leave their dogs at this place.

The only negative is that they don't have a webcam installed so that you can see the pups during the day..

Cat Owner!...Speaking on behalf of my lovely cat…read more First time I had Jacob stop by to help provide for my cat twice a day for 15-30 min, he was a newly adopted 2 yr old boy. Incredibly standoffish at first, my cat became perfectly comfortable around Jacob very quickly. I was away for nearly 2 weeks. Jacob only took about 1 or 2 days for my cat to get acclimated to him. Fast forward 4 months later (a much shorter trip that I'll be on, and still a naturally skittish cat) but he remembers Jacob!! Usually he hides for a while but he seems to have immediately smelled Jacob's scent and felt comfortable with coming out sayin' hello and possibly having a bit of play time. I'm so happy to know that Travis can happily expect someone he trusts and looks forward to seeing! The best part of this service is the photos and real time text updates during the appointments. A serious A+ for communication. You can call in, text, discuss everything with him down to whichever specifications necessary (i.e food, behavior, etc). Nothing beats seeing your little one in real time via photos and understanding how they're doing through direct messages from the person that's taking care of them. It's a huge amount of stress off of your shoulders during a trip away. You've been fantastic Crate Escape! Thanks for making me feel secure that my little guy is taken care of and feeling good :)

I had hopes for this place that ended in disappointment…read more Strange business practices with several red flags. I was referred to this business through my mother, who had been referred by the owner's sister. On 9/21, I called to inquire about grooming services after my original appointment with Furry Friends was canceled. During the call, I learned they also offered boarding, so I arranged for both grooming and boarding in mid-October. We had a 20-minute conversation where everything was confirmed, and she provided her personal number for me to send my pet's shot records. On 9/22, I called her again to confirm the grooming price since she had only given me the boarding fee and to ensure she received the shot records. She never returned my call. I followed up with the business on 9/23 and spoke to a man (likely her husband), who said she'd return my call, but she never did. I called again on 10/4, spoke to the same man, who said he would take a message. He called me back a minute later after forgetting my details and ensured she would call me. Still, no one called me back. On 10/8, I decided to stop by the business since phone communication seemed ineffective. The parking lot was empty, except for one truck, and no one appeared to be inside. I called the business number while standing outside, but no one answered. I then called Erika's personal number and left a message, which still hasn't been returned as of today, 10/10. The same man called me back shortly after, took another message, and promised a return call, but it never happened.

My next two dogs loved going to the pooch and playing and getting groomed. Now we have a five month old puppy who has started at Puddle Of Pooch, and will continue to go for daycare and occasional grooming, I have also recommended them to several friends and everyone I know is very pleased with them
