Looks like they've changed owners and now have more beers as well as pizza offerings. I tried their macho nacho pizza. Sounds big and manly, but it's a somewhat smallish personal size pizza. I can probably eat 2-3 of these in 1 sitting. Quality was okay, but honestly isn't worth the price. Their beers are mostly on the lighter side. I tried their London Fog. This one actually does taste like their tea. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Cute little brewery. Doesn't have a lot of selection, but they are all wonderful flavours. They have indoor AC and outdoor picnic seating. We love the indoor cute church seats and the indie feels. They mentioned they have happy hour the whole Sunday - all pours are $1 off. Love it and will definitely come back. read more

After a late lunch, we decided to try a brewery that we've never been to. Dogwood Brewing randomly showed up in my search; they produce organic, locally sourced beers. The location is in an odd, random industrial area across from a White Spot branch. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 4:30pm) and was surprised to find it packed! There's a mix of seating (communal tables, bar stools and a few comfy lounge chairs). Love the relaxed, chill vibe here. The music is interesting (a mix of house but played very low) and the chatter from the crowd drowned it out.There's self serve water up front. There was half a dozen beer options to choose from along with some food (pizza, sandwiches, chili and salad). Happy hour is Tuesday and Sunday (all day) and Thursday to Saturday (4:00pm to 6:00pm). They also had a decent selection of games tucked away by the bar. Everything from Scattergories, Monopoly to Settlers of Catan and crib. - Tasting rack ($9.00 for 6) - we decided to try all six flavours (honey, fest, coconut chai, stout, dark and stormy stout and London fog). My favourite was the dark and stormy stout followed closely by the fest. The London fog and coconut chai sounded interested (coconut chai smelled great) but the taste was minimal. You get a hint of flavour upon first sip but it disappears immediately after. I enjoyed the atmosphere at Dogwood but the beers left me wanting more. However, this is the only brewery you'll find in the Marine Drive area. read more

They have the London fog beer (4%) that is made with vanilla and Earl Grey tea...honestly one of the best beers I've ever had! Cozy little brew pub in South Vancouver. A little hard to find - look for the giant BEER sign. Food is fresh and well presented. Pizza creations are beautifully done. Lots of delicious options for the kids. Comforting touches (like lounge seating, and a neat view of the brewing warehouse) make this Brew Pub stand out from the glut of others in the region. Beer is standard. So far nothing stood out for me as truly memorable. There are about 5-6 options. It's touted as Organic, so that might be their niche. I'd come back just to try it again, and enjoy the ambiance. read more

This place is a gem tucked away for you to find. It's a bit of a journey to get here, especially without a car, but it is DEFINITELY worth it. I love me a communal table to facilitate friendly chats with strangers amirite?! We did a tasting bat so we could try all the things.... London Fog Golden Ale? Shut the front door. It was SO good. They have adorable personal pizza plates, served with your own shakers of parm and chili flakes - but we didn't try one. They have a great game selection to enhance your drinking fun if you're into that... which you should be. read more

Dogwood organic brewery opened 2 weeks ago and it has a promising start. The location is awkward but if their beers prove to be solid, it might be worth going out of your way. My personal favourites were the Fest and the seasonal Black IPA which were very drinkable. The weaker beers were their stout which could have had more body and the IPA which tasted more like a mediocre pale ale. The honey beer is made from local Fraser Valley unpasteurized honey and is a nice light summery beer but a touch sweet for me. The decor with the church pews and narrow wooden tables was cool but it could have used some funkier art work on the walls and more atmospheric lighting. The growler fills are little pricey in my opinion but overall it is worth another visit. read more

This rating of this review is for the quality of beer & the service. I had seen this beer before and wanted to try it especially because it's local. I have been to most of the other local breweries. The location is a bit odd, out in an industrial area, so it can be tricky to find. However, the service was very nice. I was well-informed about all the beer choices & was glad to have the chance to sample several before filling my growler. I was very satisfied with the beer I got. The honey lager tastes light & refreshing...perfect for summer, and the stout is quite nice...similar to a Guinness but without the nitrogen. The seating area & atmosphere is more like a casual daytime cafe, so not really a place I wanna sit down for a beer. However, I'll return someday to fill a growler or two again. read more

The staff here are so friendly and laid back! Nice tasting room with communal tables, and so many games which was a great touch. I had a absolutely delicious apricot sour which I also got a fill of to take home. The only thing was it was boiling in the tasting room, everyone was sweating and the windows and curtains were closed, when we left we were relieved as it was actually cooler outside, and on a 20+ degree may day ;) Maybe will add to my regular haunts through the fall and winter? hehe. read more

If beer made from organic, locally sourced ingredients sounds good to you, then look no further than Dogwood Brewing! Their little tap room is just off Marine Drive, and has ample parking out front. There's seating inside for 10-15 folks, but they were never over half full on this Sunday afternoon. Dogwood has four regular beers on tap, and two seasonals. You can opt for pints or tasting flights. I got a flight with all six offerings for $9, which was a solid deal. There's also red wine and a couple of spirits available for any friends who might not like beer. The coconut chai seasonal beer was the biggest hit among my group, with the stout and honey lager (both regulars) coming in second. The wine was a miss--we all agreed that it was rather harsh on the palate, and mediocre at best. I will say that I think the beer quality is higher at the Mt. Pleasant breweries like 33 Acres and Faculty Brewing. Growler fill prices here are also higher than at those breweries ($14-15 for a fill here, versus $10-12 at those two breweries). However, Dogwood is the only brewery in this neck of the woods, and the beer is not bad by any means. Also, if local, organic ingredients are important to you, then nothing can beat this place. read more

Great service! I have a friend visiting from NZ and we stopped in for the first time today. I'd heard Dogwood was organic, and wanted to check it out for awhile. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Chelsea, who cheerfully shared her knowledge of the beers on tap, brewing process, and local sourcing of all ingredients. I didn't realize all the beers are vegan with the exception of the Honey Lager. We also found out that Dogwood's brewmaster is female, and that they are involved with the Pink Boots Society. Chelsea's passion for beer, and for promoting female empowerment within the brewing industry was so wonderful to experience, and inspired us to learn more about Dogwood's history and the PBS organization. We picked up some coconut chai and London fog beers for dinner, both of which were flavorful without being overpowering... and both were completely different takes on beer than I've seen or tried elsewhere. Highly recommend both beers! I'll definitely be back for Friday trivia, and hopefully talk some friends into Thursday Karaoke. I like this little gem. If you don't know the craft beer scene in Van, you may not be aware of Dogwood Brewing. It's not in Yeast Vancouver and definitely off the beaten path, but so worth it. Just off marine drive in South van, it's a perfect stop if you take the Knight street bridge in your commute. Oh and it's our city's ONLY organic brewery headed up by kick-ass brewer and owner, Claire. Unlike some tastings rooms, Dogwoods is bright and airy with sunlight streaming in and herbs growing on the sills. They have 4 mainstay brews and often have amazing one-off casks. Last week was Cinful Cherry; a wit with cinnamon and cherry. I know sounds crazy, but it was perfect on a sunny day. They also have pizzas and some pretty cool events happening alot. If you haven't checked out this brewery yet, it's worth a visit. Or three :-) read more

Although it was a bit of a commute from our home in Kits, it was worth it. They've got a great set up - cool bar, comfortable long tables, high tables, and an awesome airy aesthetic. We did the 6 beer flight which included their four main (organic!!) beers plus two seasonals. Loved the Acai IPA, the Fest, and the Honey. This is a perfect tasting room complete with a variety of snack foods from pistachios to pizza! All of the staff were friendly and knowledgable. Only thing I'd like to see is gender-neutral bathrooms. They are single stall anyways, so why label them? Overall, we had a great experience, filled our growler with Fest, and will be back again! read more

I saw this reviewed on the front page of Yelp on April 18th and decided to book mark it for a visit between the guy I am dating and I. It is hidden away, however, they had a sign to guide you in the right direction from Marine Drive. It is small with communal seating. It was quiet today 'cause it was mother's day. I will start my review by saying that I am not a beer connoisseur. I am a big fan of fruit beers and radlers though. This Sunday half way through a 40 km bike ride I was ready to take a short break and enjoy a cold beverage. Really any cold beverage. It was a weekend and I expected the tasting room to be packed. Fortunately Dogwood is a little off of the beaten path being in South Vancouver. I ordered a glass of the watermelon honey lager thinking it would be the least hoppy of the bunch. This is now my new favourite beer. It was so good that my friend bought a growler put it in his backpack and carried it the remaining 20 km or so back home. Some flights were consumed, some really cool swag was ogled, and the food menu was seriously considered. On top of that the staff are super friendly, the non-fruity beer is great, there are no big crowds, and the music is good. I would definitely come back. Oh did I mention that the brew master is a woman? Not that it matters, but I thought that was pretty cool. read more

Kind of disappointed about this place. A good location as it's a place I can go and get a growler fill before taking the Knight Street bridge home. However, I guess I won't do this. Really disappointed with the stout as it tasted like the dark IPA. Maybe they poured the wrong beer by accident, but I don't think so. Stout lacked body and tasted like an IPA that was not brewed long enough. Guess what the dark IPA tasted like? Ended up getting the Fest, which was more malty and a little sweet. It was OK, but not something that will make me want to buy it again. Maybe something better will open in the area. read more

I wish I could love this place. The atmosphere is nice, good vibe in the sitting area part. I'm not an expert, but as an 'end user' the beer here is just plain watery, in my opinion. The food offerings are mediocre also. What they've got going on is ok, but even though I live in the neighbourhood and want to support this place, I can't really justify going back. We went to Dogwood on a rainy Saturday in the early evening. The location is in an industrial park just off SW Marine. As others have said, the décor is somewhat 60s retro, quite nice. Mostly communal bench seating with some seats at the bar and a small barrel table. The beer and the food is organic. Some reviews have mentioned that the beer doesn't have a lot of flavor, we didn't find that at all. We had a couple of tasting flights of six beers each. Every beer was good to excellent, with the seasonal special ginger and ginseng being a standout. We tried the food as well, and pizza and a charcuterie. Both were very good, it was nice to have organic meat on a pizza for a change. Its a small operation. The staff is very friendly, most likely you will end up being served by one of the owners. Update as of Sept 2016 - We went to a special event evening at Dogwood a few days ago - the Roast Pig Luau. Great fun, great food, tremendous value. The people who run Dogwood are a great group of people. Hopefully they do more of these events. read more

I honestly thought after having my son last year, I wouldn't be able to enjoy a beer or any alcoholic beverage again. I broke out into hives or got very red after a few sips. But than a friend introduced me to Dogwood Brewing. Not only does the beer taste amazing, it's organic and I had no issues. I thought maybe it was just a 1 off. But I now have tried the Honey, their IPA and their pineapple cherry sour. Every one of them was delicious and unique. This brewery will now be my only beer selection by choice. read more

The flavor profiles are exceptional and the attention to detail to the craft is noteworthy. Dogwood Brewing is a nice hidden secret, far away from most breweries in Vancouver. I have tasted beer around the world, and Dogwood Brewing has some of the best beers I have ever tasted. You can really tell the difference in the quality of taste when you're drinking organic beer. The interior of the tasting room is simple. The counter looks like it was inspired by a diner counter, and the seating is on benches. It is quiet unlike most bars and breweries, so it is a good place to converse. The service and staff are excellent. They're non-pretentious and guest focused -- which is rare in Vancouver. The tasters board is for four of their beers, and they give an extra two free tasters of their seasonal beer. Although the food menu is limited compared to other breweries, it doesn't bother me as I am only here for the beer. read more

After trying the beer at a festival, I bought a six pack. When I got home I opened a can and instead of that familiar "ppppppffffftttt" of a delicious fresh crisp fizzy beer. I hear the dull cracking of aluminum splitting. This instantly dampens my enthusiasm and yes as I suspect when the beer hits my lips and enters my mouth it's nothing but still, lifeless, and flat as a pancake. My guess is the shelf life for organic beer is shorter or I had a bad batch either way I was disappointed. read more
