This review comes from a homeowner that occasionally needs some some hardscape materials for projects at the house. I believe places like this prefer contractors to come in rather than homeowners but they are pretty good with you when it comes to helping. Good selection of materials in hand and I assume a good selection of products which can be ordered if needed. They also have a nice supply of tools and items needed to get the job done as well. Brandi is one of the coolest and nicest people on earth. Every time I call and talk with her she makes my orders a breeze and is always realistic with orders and deliveries. Then you have Pepe.... He is also one of the most down to earth OG's and whether it's getting in an order, loading up my truck, or delivering materials, he always has a smile on his face. I reached out to Jennifer because I had a vision of a modern dutch door and I needed someone to work with me to make it come to life. Jennifer spent a lot of time with me talking through my options, how the door would be made, and work (I never had a dutch door before so there was a lot I was not aware of) and I was able to comfortably place my order. This was a custom door so it took some time to arrive. Even while I was waiting for my door to arrive Jennifer was fully available to answer all of my MANY questions. I feel like I had some thing new that I thought about every week so she really dealt with a lot! Jennifer was also able to recommend an amazing contractor who picked up the door, did the entire install and worked with me to get the door painted and stucco work completed. I am beyond thrilled with the final product. It turned out better than I envisioned and I am totally in love with it! It's a very unexpected look, sleek and modern but dutch! Super practical, beautiful and my dogs love it just as much as I do! I am so thankful for all of the help Jennifer provided to me, she was easy to communicate with, reliable, timely, patient, friendly and I felt like the price was extremely reasonable for what I received. I ordered some doors and windows from this company a month ago( July 2020) being told the order would be delivered this week for an August 24th install. I was originally told the products would be in Doheny's shop within 3 weeks of my order date. That was one of the reasons I chose DBS was due to quick turn-around time. Last night I opened an email from Donna at Doheny Builder's Supply indicating that my windows and doors wont be here until October. TWO MONTHS after the original promised delivery date and 3 MONTHS after I ordered them. Donna waited until the windows and doors were to be DELIVERED to tell me the order would take 3 months? So unprofessional. My construction time was scheduled for this Monday , August 24th. So incredibly unprofessional to wait to tell me during the planned delivery week that the materials would not be here as originally indicated. Not even a phone call to tell me, but an email ? There is no way Doheny Builders Supply only found out yesterday that these windows were not arriving in August but not until October. I suspect Donna put the order somewhere and forgot about it, discovered just yesterday that the order had not been placed then tried to order the windows and doors. It was not a coincidence that my credit card was also run yesterday when it should have been run on the order date in JULY. read more

We had to pick up a replacement French door for our new home. As soon as we walked up we were greeted by the owner Robin, and she showed us around the premises. She was so friendly and welcoming. The door was ready and looked great when we picked up. I recently called to get a recommendation for someone to paint the door, and was transferred to Skip in the door department. He was very helpful and recommended a trusted local painter to do the work. All in all, Doheny Builders Supply provides great service. We will definitely be back for building supplies we may need in the future. read more

Doors and Windows! Brick, block, rock and sand. Base board, trim, crown and service. This place is where the local contractors go because the staff knows what they are talking about and get you in and out. Prices are better then the big boy. I spoke to Tracy & Scott. They were so nice I thought at first they were going to give me their car or something. I had a problem with a inside door at my house. I took it off the hinges and took it in. They matched the door to a new one in the shop and cut the new door to match the old one. Took 10 Minutes. All I had to do was paint and install as it matched right up! read more

We have been shopping for a front entry door for quite some time. Our neighbor is a contractor and suggested this local business. Easy to find and pleasantly greeted when we walked in. It was so nice to walk and be acknowledged. The offices are such a nice change from big warehouses where you are just a face. We were given a fantastic tour of the huge selection and educated on the different doors. We also could work with the craftsman to design a door to be made just for us. Super great service! I was doing a remodel of my home and needed a new Custom door... can you believe it - they got this for me in 1 week (after they promised 2 weeks). I love this kind of surprise! I also ordered all new door handle hardware for all my external doors. Again, was told it would take a week, but they got them in 2 days. I've been doing business with Doheny Builders Supply for a long time and have referred them to many of my friends and clients... but NO MORE! Last fall, I was building a decorative retaining wall with used Railroad ties I bought from Doheny for $24 each. I decided to extend the wall, so today I returned to buy more from them. As I entered their lot I saw a sign saying they were "Under New Management." None of the helpful people I met there in the past were present. When the very unfriendly guy behind the counter processed my credit card, they charged me almost $38 each --- a 37% INCREASE! When I asked why there was such an increase, I got a surly and condescending "non-answer." But I needed the ties so I reluctantly proceeded with the purchase. When I went out to the yard to get them loaded onto my truck, they had multiple bundles of really nice-quality ties, bundled together with metal straps, and one "open" bundle with some scraggly and damaged ties filled with large splits. I needed 3 ties and only one of them was even marginally acceptable. In the past, their forklift drivers were happy to help me sort through the selection, using their forklift to move the 400+ pound ties around for me. But not this guy! He just sat on his forklift, impatiently watching while I had to move them around by my own brute force. So when I asked him to open one of the new bundles, he flat-out refused! So I was forced to take the "dredges" since my helpers were waiting for me to return home to finish the project. They all agreed that these ties were a total rip-off, and barely usable for our purpose. Tonight I discovered that Home Depot --- just seven miles further away --- had the exact same ties, but much better quality, for only $26 each! Don't waste your time --- or money -- at Doheny Builders Supply! read more

Wow!! I do not have to go to Lowes or Home Depot anymore AND will save money doing it. I don't know about anybody else but I find the big stores daunting and overwhelming to say the least. I recently visited Doheny Builders Supply and this is your "throw back" family run business that offers one stop shopping for all your indoor/ outdoor needs!! Just their tagline says it all. " Doing business the old fashioned way." I love that the work is done on site. They carry all the window and door manufacturers with so much more !! Robin gave me a tour of the large facility and introduced me to all the store has to offer. My husband and I went to Doheny Builders Supply to purchase our front door because they had the best selection of doors to choose from. Not only did they have the best selection of doors but their customer service was phenomenal!!! I have never met an owner (Robin) who takes such great pride in her work, employees and the products she sells. Her staff is very well qualified and gives excellent customer service. We met with Jennifer, her door specialist to determine what type of door we should purchase. After selecting a door, Jennifer ordered the door and it came within a week! The door is beautiful! We also purchased the doors hardware from Doheny Builders Supply, unfortunately the hardware was not installed properly by the contractor we hired, so I called Doheny Builders Supply to ask what I could do and not only did they get me replacement parts directly from the manufacture but helped me to resolve my problem. I can't thank Robin and her staff enough for their excellent service, products and the ability to stand behind the products they sell.
