    Eggs Benedict- no bread

First with the good stuff: the service was extremely fast and friendly and served with a smile. The coffee is good and strong, though it's hard to justify paying $5 for drip coffee when, as a hotel guest, I could go to the lobby and pour a cup of coffee for free. I ordered my eggs Benedict without bread, and they had no issues with this special request. The eggs were cooked perfectly (runny yolk, solid white). The only negative, which to me is a big one, was the hollandaise sauce. It wasn't hollandaise sauce at all. It tasted like a pepper gravy but looked like thousand island dressing. I am a die hard eggs Benedict lover and the hollandaise sauce is what makes the dish. I would have passed on ordering this had I known it wasn't true hollandaise. Overall I'd give this restaurant a second chance based on the service, speed, ambiance, and delicious coffee, but I wanted to share my experience so other "eggs Benedict connoisseurs" can know what they are ordering (since reviews are slim for this restaurant).

What a beautiful friendly place to stop and have a drink or an açaí bowl. Very reasonably priced too!! The server is a doll and you can't beat the view!! I'm sure the food is good but the vibes are super chill and mellow. Great blues playing too!

The tequila marinated chicken salad is delicious!

We are here a total of four times on our stay and, overall, everything was really great! Two dinners and two breakfasts, with one happy hour in the mix. We ordered the tequila chicken salad and fish tacos the first night and then the NY strip and Mexican bowl the second night. The first breakfast was an omelet and the biscuit sandwich and the second breakfast was 2 buffets. The food was great, and MOST of the service was awesome!

super friendly staff - really like this hotel and team. even when short staffed in restaurant for breakfast whole team helped out - front office team started bussing tables, shout out to Cheryl in the bar and in the restaurant - super friendly service. opened the roof top bar after COVID 18 month closing - Randi was great on new years eve and new years day. really enjoyed roof top ahi poke. Best wasabi calamari ever! We drive all the way from the inland empire for it! Will miss it dearly when we move to Idaho.

If you like a more classic soup with a home-made-farm to table vibe you will love it too. If you are looking Claim Jumper style loaded with cheese and bread not so much. We sat for probably 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, it was 3:30pm so it wasn't very busy, maybe 3-4 other tables. Every time someone came after that we had to wave someone down for water refills, never asked anyone if we wanted more drinks from the bar, nothing. Had my father in law asked for more ice tea and they never even started a new pitcher in 15 minutes. It was not busy. The place had a to of gluten free options which is a reason I wanted to try it. My server had no idea what gluten was. For a place that had half the menu marked as gluten free I was really surprised she really had no knowledge of the menu, but she was nice enough to go ask some questions when i pressed a bit that I wasn't vegan, and it was like an allergy. The food was good, portions were large enough and everything was pretty good as far as the food. Not sure why the service was so incredibly patchy and absent when we ate at 3:30 and the place was 2/3 empty. It was pretty good, I may try again but for the price point I think the service can be a little better. Nice...but slow. Definitely need more training on the menu! Mid. Not bad. Not great.

The location alone is worth the visit--the views of Dana Point Harbor are absolutely beautiful and created the perfect setting for the evening. The restaurant was set up beautifully, with soft music playing in the background that made for a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The meal was a fixed menu, and every course was delicious, especially after a long drive. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. A special thank you to Mr. Zdrakas, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was especially kind to my son and even jokingly offered him a job after he pitched in to help. While we were there under difficult circumstances, Proud Mary's made the experience as warm and enjoyable as possible. If you're looking for a beautiful waterfront venue for a private event, I highly recommend Proud Mary's. We look forward to visiting again under happier circumstances.

Tasted like bad flour gravy with little to no potatoes or clams. Don't order this. My Cesar salad came with chicken, anchovies, croutons, and like 4 cherry tomatoes. The anchovies were whole and there were 3. I like that they asked if I wanted them (I did) but I wish they were chopped up instead of whole. The cheese on the salad was hard like it had been sitting out and the chicken seemed like it was some cheap breast defrosted. They could have grilled the chicken, had fresh black pepper to make it a lot better. The French fries on my son's plate were honestly sad looking. Cold and soggy. My husband ordered fish tacos and chili and admitted he's had better meals in his life. We drove pretty far to try this place and honestly wish we went next door for better food. Service was ok, our soups came out before we got our drinks, which I didn't like. The food is super overpriced for the quality. The best part was the view.... Hence the second star. I won't go back.

There is ONE window for ordering and one where the food comes out. After waiting 40 minutes in line, my friend and I didn't even want food anymore so we walked over to the mobile bar/tent. This serves mainly alcohol but you are allowed to order NA drinks here too. But what doesn't make sense is that you can order soda and milkshakes at the tent, but they still come from the one window that is already slammed with orders. My friend ordered a soda and was told it would come out quickly. We waited for about 10 minutes and I decided to ask about her drink and the employee handed me a Coke that was sitting there under her name. We were standing by the pick up window the whole time so I'm not sure why he didn't call her name when he was calling everybody elses'? Best part is that after we started to walk away, one of the employees came out and made an announcement that you can order drinks from the cart. Half the queue got out of line and moved over there... This should be on a sign somewhere so that you can get in the correct line and not wait forever to order.

It had all the right ingredients, but somehow none of the flavor. Everything tasted very bland and lacked the bold, authentic seasoning you'd expect from good Mexican food. To make matters worse, I became sick with diarrhea after eating there. I can't say with absolute certainty what caused it, but the timing was concerning enough that I felt it was worth mentioning. The best way I can describe the food is that it was missing its most important ingredient--love. It looked the part, but it just didn't have the heart or flavor to make me want to come back.
