I've been living in beautiful Dana Point, California, for more than three decades, and I always enjoy supporting local businesses--especially those with great customer service and owners who truly care about the community. When the FIFA World Cup starts, I love watching international football (soccer). For years, I was looking for the perfect place to watch the matches after my old favorite spot closed. I've been coming to The Point for more than 20 years, but I never realized what an amazing place it was to watch sports until the World Cup. The atmosphere is incredible. The sound system is fantastic, every TV is tuned to the same game with the live match audio, and no matter where you sit, you have a great view of multiple screens. It feels like you're inside the stadium, surrounded by fans who share the same passion for the beautiful game. I saw people from different backgrounds coming together, cheering, laughing, and enjoying the matches as one community. That's what sports are all about--unity and friendship. I want to thank everyone at The Point Restaurant & Bar for creating such a welcoming place for our community. Great service and ambiance, loved the atmosphere during a recent world cup game. But I wasn't too impressed with the boneless wings - they weren't fresh. They tasted like the frozen nuggets from Pavilions. I'd come back to try the other items though. Excellent service though. read more

This is my in laws local bar and my wife and I literally look forward to visiting because of The Point. We're definitely regulars so this review is long overdue. Erin and Vienna are the best here. Such a great spot to watch some Sunday football - this place has high energy so a perfect spot to go watch the game with others. If you're looking for a low-key quiet spot this is not the place to go during football season on a Sunday morning, but it was perfect for what we were looking for :-) Our server was so sweet and attentive. She came up multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed which we truly appreciated. We both got the cider which we enjoyed, it wasn't overly sweet. We had a great time watching NFL Sunday here and enjoying a meal with drinks! The hostess was quick to get us seated by the TV that was streaming the game we wanted to watch. Our kids were even able to play with some building blocks while we waited for our food. We got the Filipino LUMPIA appetizer and traditional Filipino breakfast TAPSILOG. Both were yummy. We also ordered the clam chowder and loco moco. Those were a hit. For drinks we enjoyed a bottle of champagne with pineapple juice and espresso martinis. We had a great time. I took my mom here for some drinks and appetizers. It was easy to get a reservation on the patio using the open table app. We shared a ceviche and it was huge- big enough to share and fill us up. Drinks were excellent and the service was fantastic. We enjoyed the live music and beautiful views of the pier. Will definitely be back to try their clam chowder. read more

Went there to watch the Argentina/Switzerland quarter finals. Empty when we walked in an hour before game time. Very loud music blasting which didn't stop as the players walked in and anthems were sung. Audio was bad anyway and the place didn't have game day vibes since most weren't even watching the game. Went here with a party of 20 spur of the moment right before a World Cup soccer playoff game. Place was slammed and even with that the services was pretty good. Food was nice bar food. Finally back for a brief Dana Point visit, and stopped in again for drinks and takeout. As before, fun and welcoming atmosphere! Went there with my son in law to watch the US game. Was there at 4 pm- friend from Irvine was already there. They would not seat him even tho he showed the text ( from us) that we are on our way. By the time we arrived at 4 pm they had already thrown him out and they would not seat us because we were only 2 now. Restaurant/bar was only about 10% occupied. Very rude "door person". My only recommendation is more typical chair/table seating versus stools and high tables. I visited The Point for the first time last Friday, and it was packed for the soccer games. As soon as the games ended, karaoke started, so the energy never slowed down! I sat at the bar with Becca and Erin, and they never stopped moving. Even though they were incredibly busy, they were friendly, fun, and made me feel like I was one of the regulars. Always on their cell phones or talking amongst themselves. The old staff wasn't there so I'm assuming new management. Not a fun position experience like it was before. I used to come here all the time, and it's still one of those places that feels like home the moment you walk in. The bartenders are absolutely amazing and they somehow always remember what you like. Becca and Erin truly make this place what it is -- they're the kind of people who turn a quick stop into the highlight of your night. That said, you really can't go wrong with anyone behind the bar or on the floor. Every person I've met here has been welcoming, fun, and genuinely invested in making your experience enjoyable. I don't live nearby anymore, but I make a point to stop in every time I'm back in the area because the staff is that great. They were very busy on a Sunday morning full of NFL games. Despite that, our party of 4 adults and 2 littles were seated promptly with the game we wanted to watch front and center. The lot is pretty tight on parking but most folks were able to grab a spot on the street. We ordered the lumpia, loco moco, tapsilog, and New England clam chowder in a bread bowl and everything tasted great. We also had espresso martinis with Bailey's to start and finished with a bottle of bubbly. Kiddos were able to play with a giant jenga set and there was cornhole as well. It was a great spot to watch my boys in Honolulu blue. Service was prompt, courteous, and attentive, which was even more impressive given how busy the place was. The cherry on top? Really fair pricing and especially for this area. They do pass on the credit card surcharge and add 20% for parties of 6 or more BUT, it's reflected in the pricing of the menu items (competitive) AND we gladly gave on top of the 20% for the awesome service we received. read more

Hours never accurate. Everytime I come here they're closed 3-4 hours before their posted hours. Three separate times.

What a fun find! Sitting inside near the window, offered nice views of PCH, the hills of San Clemente, a peek at the beach, and Dana Point's Lantern District sign... and pleasant breezes. Our bartender/server, Dianni, was the best: friendly-&-energetic, attentive, and ... fun! We just went in for a drink and a quick bite. Well drinks were good! We'd shared the Doheny Salad and Lumpia; the salad was a generous portion as well as fresh and tasty; while it was difficult to clearly identify the water chestnuts and green onion in the lumpia, we enjoyed the crisp and lightly-fried thinner-than-traditional egg rolls atop a tasty little salad. Parking spaces in the lot are limited; fortunately, we landed the last space. We look forward to returning! read more

In our experience, she was unprofessional, rude, and acted in a way that felt more like someone who had been partying than someone working in hospitality.
