We are back at Proud Mary's and I just wanted to update my review since I ordered something different this time around. I ordered the Ruben with corned beef and sauerkraut on a toasted marble bread. I also substituted the fries for a side salad. Sandwich was very good and the service is always amazing !

Came here today for breakfast . It's been awhile since we've been here with all the construction and changes taking place here at the harbor. It's terribly sad to see so many places gone due to the huge parking structure and making room for who knows what. Once you get past all that. You can walk alongside the waterfront and see the boats while making your way to Proud Mary's. Happy that they remained here in the harbor. There were 4 of us today and we all ordered different items. All of which were amazing hot and fresh. I failed at getting pictures. I got a few. Our server was great. He tended to us and got everything just perfect. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, side of pancakes, pancake combo with bacon and the biscuits and gravy with eggs sausage and potatoes. Hot fresh coffee and a Bloody Mary. We will definitely be back.

Solid brunch spot at the Dana Point Harbor. We came here on a Saturday morning 10am), and had a party of 6. There was a wait, but we were able to get seated in less than 10 minutes. The staff was extremely kind, food was solid, portions were good size, and overall pretty good bang for your buck. Would come back again!

We took family here who were visiting from the East Coast. They loved it. We all enjoyed our meals and although it had been a while since we visited, I'm keeping this place in mind for another weekend brunch or lunch. Simple, delicious food with a great atmosphere and harbor view! I had the fish tacos and they were pretty good.

Classic diner food, quick service, and views of the harbor. Most dine in their enclosed, covered patio where big windows frame the bobbing boats and glinting water. Every so often, you might see the Catalina Express boat or stand-up paddle boarders passing by. The vibe is easygoing and familiar. THE FOOD. - Chili Cheese Omelette. Homemade chili with chunks of tender vegetables and melted pepper jack cheese. Really good! THE DRUNK DRINKS. - Bloody Mary. Earthy tomato, spicy flavors, and seasonings to jump start your day. Garnish includes a pickle spear, green olive, and lime wedge. THE PARKING. If you get there early, free parking spots are usually open near the restaurant. There's also a new parking structure if you can't find something closer. THE RETURN. Been here several times already and not only do they have a solid breakfast menu, the views of Dana Point harbor elevates the dining experience.

5/26/2025 Went for a lovely stroll along the harbor and ended up at Proud Mary's for breakfast. We were greeted by the owner who was doing his dog barking impersonating and he was quite good. Sounded like a small retriever. We were seated at a nice table for two. Valerie was our amazing server and was attentive and kind. The other helpers were all efficient and friendly as well. My wife had the vegetable omelet and I had the chili omelet. Both dishes were great. The coffee and OJ was good as well. This place is popular with an upbeat ambiance and terrific location. Highly recommended.

Had the lunch menu as the breakfast menu ends at noon. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Steak Burrito. Both were excellent and I ended up taking half the burrito home. Service was quick and the wait wasn't bad as we had a party of 5. The restaurant is located in Dana Point Harbor therefore there were a lot of boats moving all around. The decor is based on the Sea and boats. Lovely place, check it out.

Proud Mary's Restaurant in Dana Point is a beloved local staple known for its stunning waterfront views of the harbor and its high-energy, casual diner atmosphere. It specializes in hearty American comfort food with Mexican influences and is a prime destination for a relaxed breakfast or lunch right on the water.

Got curious on how to get to Catalina Island on my day off and chose to check out Dana Point to catch the Catalina express. I wanted to find out how to catch a ride without online reservation and where to park. I happened to ask the bartender where I could physically get tickets. He was very helpful and clearly gave me directions and found it. Got hungry later and tried their tacos and it didn't disappoint. There was a list of spiked coffee. It would've if my friend was with me. I'll definitely be back.

Really nice restaurant fast service lots of seating. I love their close patio with great views of the harbor and glass that closes out completely with space heaters which keep you nice and toasty on the cold mornings. The food potions were quite large and more than enough .

If you are looking for a classic breakfast, this is where you will find it! The Fishermans combo truly hit the spot for me. The service was efficient and friendly. The modest interior is perfect as it leaves plenty of room for the outside views. There are many windows which allow for an outdoorsy feel while staying sheltered from the bay breeze.

    Chili omelette was delicious!

Ask the Community - Proud Mary's Restaurant

    What's the parking situation?

There is plenty of parking. They recently opened up a parking structure for lots of cars

Do they serve pancakes or gf waffles? Is the patio dog friendly?

Their menu is fantastic--serving just breakfast & lunch. Their best seller is the reuben sandwich & I can attest to how wonderful it is. But my friends ordered other items (salad, etc.) & everything was delicious! We hadn't seen each other for…

    Do they do privet rooms?

Private banquets? Yes, they have two sections in the restaurant, plus outside. Very accommodating.

    Are they pet friendly?

We have 4 two guest tables on front patio.

The parking is definitely limited, as I saw from other reviews on Yelp. On a Sunday evening it was very easy, however. The menu is fairly limited, and I wish they had a few more fish options, though the salmon I saw looked absolutely incredible. I had the chicken caesar salad. The chicken was a large portion, and so tasty. The dressing was SO good. They did forget dressing on both of our salads which was kind of annoying for a simple caesar (so we had to get a side of it). That being said, once we did get dressing, I seriously could've drank the stuff it was so yummy. They also scorch their tomatoes in the salad to perfection. I also tried the crispy tuna appetizer, which was surprisingly different from similar versions I have had at sushi restaurants (not in a bad way). The fish was very fresh and I would order this appetizer again. I think it came with five fairly small pieces (just so you know how many to order for a crowd). If you are feeling dessert, they have an incredible (and massive) butter cake!

The sound system is fantastic, every TV is tuned to the same game with the live match audio, and no matter where you sit, you have a great view of multiple screens. It feels like you're inside the stadium, surrounded by fans who share the same passion for the beautiful game. There is ONE window for ordering and one where the food comes out. After waiting 40 minutes in line, my friend and I didn't even want food anymore so we walked over to the mobile bar/tent. This serves mainly alcohol but you are allowed to order NA drinks here too. But what doesn't make sense is that you can order soda and milkshakes at the tent, but they still come from the one window that is already slammed with orders. My friend ordered a soda and was told it would come out quickly. We waited for about 10 minutes and I decided to ask about her drink and the employee handed me a Coke that was sitting there under her name. We were standing by the pick up window the whole time so I'm not sure why he didn't call her name when he was calling everybody elses'? Best part is that after we started to walk away, one of the employees came out and made an announcement that you can order drinks from the cart. Half the queue got out of line and moved over there... This should be on a sign somewhere so that you can get in the correct line and not wait forever to order.

Great service and friendly staff. Everyone is very knowledgeable and shares little tidbits about the wine while you enjoy. A few Suggestions / observations: 1. The self service wine area has a massive wine display that limits access to patrons who are there. A thin long belly bar would make it much more social and accessible. Constantly feel like I am bumping into people or wine bottles just to grab a taster then standing in a corner to get out of the way. 2. The massive LED tv's would be so nice if there was nature or a beach scene or something to set the ambiance. Having a massive advertisement of an appetizer stock photo and happy hour fliers illuminating half the store is not enjoyable, they could be utilized in a much nicer format. 3.
