If I could give zero stars I would have .. Ive heard some negative things about this shop but today while in the auto parts store in town one of the employees gave a high recommendation.. said they knew the owner and they could help with the problem we were having. They had experience with them removing those locks .. We purchased a 2022 Corolla Cross in August. We were going to purchase new tires for the suv and noticed that the key to unlock the lug nuts was not in the vehicle.. after contacting modesto toyota .. a drive down and back to purchase something that should have been in the vehicle for $100 we figured we could handle it ourselves. Upon leaving the parts store we made our way over to Doherty Tire.. pulled up .. made contact with a couple employees and made our way into the office. We stood in that office for 10 mins and not one person said 1 word to us. Not only did you lose out on a brand new set of tires but confirmed the negative things wed heard about this business prior.. we always try to shop locally but its disappointing when local doesn't appreciate it. read more

We went to Pinecrest for camping and the next day. I noticed I had a slow leak in my tire I went to Walmart to have it fixed and despite us being there by 7:30 and had just opened, they would not accommodate us until 1pm even if there were two techs and only one car up on the bay just because "we didn't have a reservation". These guys broke my locking lug nut key and kept the locking lug nuts. Charged full price and said the vehicle is good to drive with 4 out of 5 lug nuts on each wheel. If you have locking lug nuts bring a spare set with a key so you don't drive away with missing lug nuts. They'll literally take your nuts and charge you full price. can't make it up. read more

Recently my young daughter was working and living in the Sonora area and needed two tires replaced. Since we live in the Fresno area I was a bit concerned about sending her to an out of town tire shop without some adult supervision. Not to say I have the knowledge to offer any true guidance. When I called Doherty's shop Mike was very helpful in providing details on tires for her car, which had to be ordered. The next day Mike called to say the tires had arrived. I explained my daughter's work schedule may not coincide with the shop hours. Mike provided details on when the tires could be installed based on her availability. My husband took our car to Doherty Tire recently since one of our tires (on a different vehicle than we had brought in previously) was having issues. The tire had a slow leak and we were constantly needing to stop into gas stations to refill it. Logan was friendly and helpful. He took a look at the tire. He did a number of tests on the tire and was able to then determine where the leak was. He discovered that the leak was actually due to a nail being embedded in the tire. He was able to patch the hole up quickly and efficiently for just $15. Our tire has not had any issues since. The staff here are truly remarkable. These guys are the best tire service around. The service is always quick. Compared to something like American Tire which usually a 4 hour time, these guys will have you out in less than 30 minutes. The other day I brought in a small tractor tire to get repaired. The tire tech checked for leaks and found a bad valve, replaced it and sent us on our way. He would take any money, I offered $20 and he refused to take it and told me take my wife out for lunch. Good group of people. read more

Amazing service! I got a flat tire while on vacation in the Sonora area. The first shop I visited immediately said they couldn't fix it. I brought it here and the employee (whose name I didn't catch unfortunately) looked at it and right away said he could take it apart and patch it from the inside barring any damage he couldn't see. I went in early Monday morning with a flat tire on my large motorhome, expecting to spend hundreds of dollars on multiple new tires...maybe 30 minutes later the broken valve stem was replaced and I was back on the road for $30. I was visiting the area on Sunday and had a big screw in my tire and couldn't drive home. Monday morning at 7:35 we arrived shortly after they opened. A friendly employee came up to our car before we had even stopped driving, saw the spare tire and guided us right in. We couldn't believe how all the young gentleman were working so hard and we're even running literally helping customers as fast as they could in a friendly and professional manner. While traveling one of my "run flat" tires went,well,flat. Pulled out the cellphone and searched for tire stores. Called a few looking to fix and/or sell me a replacement. No luck. Third call went to Doherty Tire. Very helpful guy named "Joe" gave me directions to his location and said they'd try to help. Arrived a few minutes later ,asked for Joe and he and and his co-workers inspected my tire. A repair wasn't possible-the tire was toast. No new tires in stock to fit my car so they found a used one to get me home. The charge was more than fair for all the work they did. Incidentally,I got home with no problems.
