Both were yummy but my showstopper was the Sorbet, I added some maraschino cherries and it did not disappoint. So good!! Stumbled upon Dohmo and it was so good! Order in a kiosk. Only a few ice cream flavors, but a ton of toppings. I got the vanilla with strawberries and fruity pebbles. It was SO good. Finally tried this after a friend raved about it, and I was surprised it was so empty for a weekend. The space is small maybe 20 seats. Inside is super clean and modern and cute. Tastes good but the service is super slow and the quantity of ice cream varies on who made it. One of the taiyaki waffle cones were overcooked / burnt. The machinery was so fun to watch as staff prepared these delectable treats. We would watch with enthusiasm as the drill-like contraption mixed the ice cream with the custom flavors/items into it. This was a lovely treat after lunch! I have been craving matcha for a while and figured this would be a good spot to order from. It's tucked away in a small shopping center, but it was the only business set up. Walking in, quiet, but the customer service was welcoming! They had the self-service kiosk (is this a common thing now??) on the side. I ordered a Lychee Refresher (has lemonade in it) and a Matcha Cheese Milk Tea. There is plenty of seating inside, and someone came in while I waited to work on their laptop. Our drinks were VERY GOOD. I am pretty picky about cheese teas, but I really loved the cheese topping with the matcha. It was a really good tang! I also tried my husband's Lychee Refresher - THAT was super good too. I'm an ice cream junkie and Dohmo did not disappoint! First of all, the place is clean, modern, bright and cheery. You can place an order at the counter or by using one of the two kiosks. There are two banners near the entry to help you decide the choice of ice cream and add-ins. Ordering was easy! My only issue was- not really a complaint - was the choice of music. I'm not a fan of K-pop, but I was able to tune it out after a few minutes. I had the vanilla ice cream with Oreo crumbles. I added a Nutella stuffed waffle. Delicious! I'm not sure that they have wet toppings or syrups etc but the ice cream was fresh and clean tasting. The people behind the counter were super sweet, they even made the music louder when we were singing along. Tons of space for customers to sit/chill. We got boba tea and it was typical, good, but typical. Same story, different day with boba - you pay $10 for a drink that is mostly ice. It's good, but feels so expensive. And they made our drinks THEN started making our waffle. There was no one else in line when we got there and we waited 20 minutes for everything to be made which seemed a little insane for a couple drinks and one waffle. I've been driving by this place for months and finally decided to stop by after having a craving for ice cream. When I arrived the outside was well lit and they even have a cute little sitting area outside with lights. This was my first time and I soon realized that they use a kiosk machine to order here which is awesome if you like that sort of thing. I settled on the raspberry ice cream option(can't remember the exact name) but I'm so glad I picked this. It was favorable and the wait for my order wasn't long. I ordered some taiyaki and a single scoop of chocolate. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate ice cream; it had little flecks of chocolate in it and was very rich and not too sweet. I also love red bean taiyaki and thought that the taiyaki were very good as well. It is a bit on the pricier side but is definitely a great option for dessert once in a while. They made the wrong dish for my friend, but she didn't mind. Ice cream is delicious and uniquely made by blending and then redistributing like soft serve. It takes a long time, so if it is busy, be prepared to wait! The Taiyaki is baked fresh and smells delicious. If I ate gluten, I'd be all about it! It was very good and there seems to be endless flavor/topping combos to try or create yourself as well. While this location is super cute and conveniently located, my bowl ended up being around $12, which felt pretty steep. Service was friendly enough, but with the order kiosks I really didn't have much interaction with the staff. This is one of the nicest, cleanest and cute boba tea/Icecream/Taiyaki places I've been to in St. Louis. The staff is so nice!! And they pile on the portions for your Icecream. They have waffle cones and Taiyaki. So they look the same, but the waffles are crunchy and hollow whereas the Taiyaki are soft and filled. I will now go here as often as I can because it is the one place I've found where their teas tastes like tea, and actually get my sugar levels correct. Dohmo finally opened!!!! The shop is spacious with minimalist design. You can order through 2 self serve kiosks. They offer ice creams in a cup with variety of toppings, bubble tea, Taiyaki, milkshakes etc. We order Matcha icecream with mochi, and The Goat which is vanilla icecream base with cheesecake bites, lemon cookie bites and graham cracker crumbs. We also got red bean taiyaki on the house. Taiyaki is a Japanese fish shaped cake filled with red bean paste. It's often sold as street food in Japan. Everything was delicious. The owners and staffs were very welcoming and friendly. Next time, I want to try the taiyaki top off with soft serve, and Ube ice cream here. read more

A very unique concept with high potential, but poorly executed. Orders are placed through touch-screen kiosks. General categories are: ice creams, taiyaki (fish-shaped waffles with fillings), and drinks. Base ice cream flavors are: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, matcha, and ube. There are some specialty ice cream concoctions with mix-ins and toppings, and "build your own". In my mind, "build your own" would allow a customer to select one of any of the 5 ice creams, and any combo of toppings. Strangely, build your own doesn't allow you to select matcha or ube ice cream, even at a higher price (if that were the reason for excluding the flavors). The build your own topping options are limited too for some reason. My stepson wanted ube ice cream topped with M&Ms, but the kiosk either doesn't allow that option or the menu is not set up in a way that would allow someone to easily select this combo. He asked the Dohmo employee how he could order this, and was told, "No, you can't order that..." We were like, "Why not? You have the ube ice cream and you have the M&Ms..." The machines used to serve the ice cream are very unique. They appear to be some kind of patented machines that drill a spiraled cone into scoops of ice cream, churning them into soft-serve. A combination of the arduous process and the slow speed of the workers, though, causes the prep time for each order to be slow as molasses. The finished product was delicious, but I'm afraid the high prices, quirky ordering kiosks, slow prep time, and average service might keep Dohmo from being around for long. We'd never come here with our extended family of 10. It would take an hour for everyone to get served, and it would cost more than $100... I wish they'd do something about these issues. read more
