Stopped here on my way to the Muny for a tasty cool dinner treat (yes I like ice cream for dinner ). Its a lil stand with a nice size parking lot and a couple of outdoor tables to eat at. They do lots of different custard treats. I was impressed with the variety of sundaes and concretes on the menu. But I was grabbing and going so I went with my standard- large strawberry shake. The shake was a good thickness and had fresh blended strawberries in it. What sets Skeeters apart from the competition is the straw! Its an extra wide straw! The strawberries even came through it with no problem!!! I was delightfully surprised and super impressed with this detail. Go check them and the fancy straws out!

Over and over again, I've proclaimed Skeeter's "the best frozen custard in STL" and I still stand by my claim. Stop by for a cone or delight in one of their spectacular sundaes. My favorite is the Bing Cherry Delight -- macadamia nuts, bing cherries, chocolate sauce, whipped cream -- come on! It makes me happy just thinking about it. We recently moved from the area and I can't stop thinking about it.

Forget ever going back to Freddy's or any other chain custard, this place has the creamiest custard ever!!! The customer service is beyond kind, I asked for other local recommendations, and they were more than happy to share

First time here and it was nice treat after dinner. Place was clean and has outside seating if you want to enjoy your dessert outdoors. Highly recommend this place!

Super creamy custard, friendly service. One of our favorite summer stops.

I reiterate: I have yet to visit another frozen custard place in the St. Louis metro area with a roster this large and this awesome of concrete flavors and mix-ins. I just got a confetti cupcake concrete with hot fudge on top, which tasted like cake batter and sprinkles, and if this place isn't five stars, you probably just chose a weird combination of ingredients. Excellent, and perfect under the umbrellas on a summer afternoon (but they're open all year just the same).

Oh.my.gosh, the deliciousness!! After a great dinner at Pappy's Smokehouse, I can't think of a better way to end the evening than Skeeter's. My friend recommended it, and I am SO glad she did. It was a couple miles away from the hotel, in sort of a residential area--think small-town feel. I ordered the Peanut Butter Krispie concrete and the s'mores one. I wish I had more of each! Every bite was chocked full of something delicious, so there was no skimping on ingredients! I really appreciate that in a concrete creation! There is a little picnic table eating area in back that's nice. We had 4 two-year olds with us, and it was slightly close to the street w/ no fence, so be aware of that! But it was a nice night to sit outside and nom on some ice cream! :)

Skeeters will always be my #1 favorite place. I loved coming as a kid and now come with my kids. Summer time is the best with Skeeters.

It definitely lives up to the hype in terms of popularity--the place was packed even at 10:30 PM, but the line moved quickly thanks to their efficient service. The concept is simple: the custard starts with a vanilla base, and you can customize it with a variety of toppings. They also offer a few other flavor options, so there's plenty to choose from. We tried a couple of different custards, and while they were good, I honestly didn't find them as exceptional as I expected given all the buzz. The flavors were enjoyable, but I felt they were a bit overpriced for what you get compared to other frozen dessert shops. One thing that surprised me was how quickly the custard started to melt, even before I had eaten much of it. Overall, it's worth trying if you're visiting St. Louis since it's such an iconic local spot, but for me, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It may be a beloved hometown favorite, but I'm not sure it's a must-visit destination for everyone.

They made a fresh pot of coffee and even went the extra mile to go get ice as we came in later in the evening and they had run out. I did tell them they didn't need to, but he insisted which I thought was outstanding. This quaint little café is so charming inside. It allows people to gather eat a sweet treat and have general conversation conversations where you can actually hear one another. They do have outside seating too. The chocolate cake was soft and as a non-cake lover I found this very delicious. Definitely worthy of sharing. I ordered a quiche to go. I had mentioned they didn't have the spinach feta pastry that I had before. The gentleman stated we have some in the back, I'm happy to get you one. So I ordered that too. And although this was only our second time coming, the fact that they'll make a fresh pot of coffee in my opinion is key to a great café. I will keep this in my rotation of places to go.

As I was walking to the door, I see a man cleaning the tables. He walks toward the door as I'm walking up to it. We're literally standing face to face with the door in between us. I smile, he is stone faced. I go to open the door as he walks away. The door is locked. I try a few more times, thinking maybe it's me. I look around at the hours again, but next to it is a "we're open" sign. I try maybe 3-4 times more before I give up. I walk to the window and he's sitting at a table toward the back, looking at me. We just look at each other, then he looks at his computer. I turn toward my car, then turn back around and he's still looking at me! I sat in my car, confused. He never looked back up from his computer, so I left. Highly disappointed.

I'd attend such a meeting, but more so for the lulz (but also to share my beliefs). I'm pleased to report that there's none of that going on here, that I'm aware of. Granted, this was a Sunday morning. I was there with my running group as part of our ongoing unofficial breakfast burrito tour, the last such stop until this fall, due to upcoming marathon training. Of course it was the most unpleasant day of the year, maybe ever, with a heat index of 117 (no hyperbole). I changed shirts before I came in and then sweated through that shirt as well. One of the ladies I was with left a gross pool of sweat in her chair after she left. It didn't occur to me to pull a Charlamagne tha God until hours later. I'm growing as a human being. Part of that growth is gradually coming to realize that seasonal lattes, unless they have sort of especially distinct flavor, like banana, aren't going to taste like anything other generic artificial sweetener, let alone what they purport to be. I considered ordering an iced caramel latte, but I figured what the heck. I went with something called a Miso Brown Sugar Latte. It was good for what it was, but I don't know that anyone, if you gave it to them to try, could identify it as that. I liked the fact that it had a somewhat more pronounced coffee flavor, compared to some places where it mostly just tastes like a glass of milk. I wasn't as crazy about the fact that it took a while for the ice cubes to cool it down, probably longer than it would have taken if it were served in a glass cup. I went with something called the Annex Burrito, which I didn't realize until after I ordered it is not the only burrito they carry. I guess you can also get a bog-standard breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs and cheese. This one comes with corn, beans and some sort of unidentified crema for the same amount. Maybe they give you less bacon. Mine didn't have a lot of bacon, but the bacon it did have was not crisp and had a precooked vibe. The latter was more of an issue for me than the former. I'm a savage in that way. I did appreciate the fact that it was griddled, possibly using a panini press. The exterior was ever so slightly crisp, while the interior was pizza roll-level molten. The overall vibe was similar to those microwave burritos they used to carry at 7-11, but in a good way. All I needed was a mini truck enthusiast magazine filled with photos of bikini-clad Latinas and a Windex-blue Slurpee, but I was able to make do with a lukewarm mystery latte and the old ladies I run with. I'm resourceful.
