I love feeling "special" and being pampered. And Dolan Toyota successfully made me feel this way (in a "service your car kind of way". I have a 17 year old toyota and was treated like I had just bought the top of the line car. Dolan Toyota is one of those mega car dealerships that looks like it's own city. It has turned a dreadful chore of getting your car serviced into like going away to a spa resort. I might be exaggerating, but you get the point.The place is huge, with a seating area, vending machines, TV. I arranged my appointment on the internet and that was no hassle. I even changed it once for an earlier appointment. Easy access, on the corner or Plumb and Kietzke, in front of Costco. Drove right in, they have staff that take notes on what the issues are, they look at your car and check for dents, paint chips, etc and ask if you want a complimentary car was (of course). Then you see your service coordinator. My service coordinator was Scott and he takes an assessment of the car, asks you what you think is wrong, tells you what may be your car's ailments, gives you an estimate and gives you options. It's almost like going to a car doctor. I could have had an $1100 bill and luckily after assessment, the car just needed a $20 cable. I appreciate Scott's honesty. With my lack of car knowledge, he easily could have taken me to the cleaners. After the car's overnight stay and a call from Scott, I picked up the car early next day. So organized and smooth. Talked with one of the workers there and found out that Dolan Toyota runs 3 shuttles so I could have taken a shuttle if I didn't have a ride. You can also rent cars there too. These guys are top notch, A+. Very happy with the service. And they did a bang up job at washing my car too! read more

Took a certified used car I bought less than one month ago to get it's first oil change, because I wanted the best oil I could get. (Amsoil). Was told that whoever did the oil change last over filled it by a quart (Dolan Toyota). That really upset me as the entire process of buying this 2021 Toyota Camry from them was not a good experience from the beginning. I would recommend going elsewhere to buy a car. I'd give them zero stars if I could, these folks are the worst, and I mean that to dissuade you from ever taking your vehicle to them. I'm not experienced with working on trucks, I thought I could rely on the people that were supposedly "experts" on Toyota's to take care of my issue. As I explained to the person over the phone, and to Erica in person when I dropped my truck off, I had a rubbing sound coming from the front driver side wheel that intensified in speed and severity as the wheels of the car spin faster. I suspected a faulty wheel bearing from research I had done, and even had a mechanic friend give the same opinion. I explained this multiple times, was sold on a full inspection of the truck. At no point in time did anyone ever check the wheel bearing. Which if left unattended to is a potentially life endangering safety hazard. Instead, the technician Christian tried to blame the issue on an aftermarket upper control arm ball joint. If you don't know anything about UCAs or ball joints, not a single part of that makes sense. Nothing on the upper control arm spins with the wheel. So it's impossible for this to be related. Instead of checking the place I advised them and requested them to check multiple times, they decided it was easier to blame another manufacturer, attempt to get me to pay additionally to replace it, and lie to my face about the issue. Save yourself a bunch of frustration and money and NEVER BRING YOUR CAR HERE TO BE SERVICED. They are either liars, or completely incompetent, or even worse, both. read more

The sales guy was nice, wanted to see an Escalade they had at Lexus I agreed waited there for 40mins and they came back with no car stating it was getting re-keyed. Try to push a Tundra on me but couldn't test that drive either as the battery had died and they couldn't jump started. Still was interest in Escalade so I decided To apply they told me I didn't qualify for that much of a price and they were giving me a 16% interest rate, they told me I would need to buy a tundra 10k less then the Escalade. So I was there for 3hours for nothing told them I had to go so sales manager came also nice and asked what we could do make this happen I was like I don't like your rate and I haven't even test drove nothing, so nothing was gonna happen lol. I got my own financing with Great Basin got a 6% rate and I bought that Escalade that they said I couldn't afford at CARMAX! For 5k less and 10k miles less then the one they had there and I got the premium luxury instead of just he luxury edition they had there, imagine that! On July 12, 2023 I took my 2007 4-runner with only 105,000 miles for service having moved late last year from Bend, OR. Service was done and report recommended replacing left front tire as a gash was on the inner sidewall. I denied this service and instead went to Les Schwab Tires. They could not find any gash in the inner sidewall or outer sidewall. I have had this problem before with dealership service departments. In Bend they said I needed brakes and had reinspected by Les Schwab and not true. Also with my wife's Lexus they recommended replacing a part that was not deficient. However, I did buy a new tire at Schwab as the tire was 6 years old and slow leaker. I would be wary of any recommendations from this business and in future will go to local mechanic or to Carson City. read more

Took my 2017 Tacoma in for a recall on the cab brake light for possible water leaking in on all 17' models, Ok no problem not a huge issue glad I caught it before any water leaked in......we'll here we are a year or so later and my headliner is completely soaked in water from the cab light after a small rain storm. Ill preface with I don't normally leave bad reviews. A had a small clip break on my 4Runner and for the life of me could not find the proper part diagram online to figure out the part number. The Dolan Toyota website only let you place an order with the part number so I gave the parts department a call. The man on the phone was rude, demeaning, and unhelpful. He told me legitimately, "well what am I supposed to do about that?" I was recommended to bring my vehicle in for a service... just needed a small plastic retaining clip! However, I still needed to figure out this part so I bit the bullet and called Roseville Toyota instead. Their parts department was extremely helpful and told me how and where to find the parts diagram I needed. I ended up ordering the part through them. Pulled up on to the lot just looking for information about the '19 Tundra, when I was greeted by Brandon. I explained to him that we were just there to get information and he brought us inside and gave us the information we were looking for. I explained that I have been a fan of the F-150s for awhile and that I wanted to see what Tundra had to offer as well. We went over the details, he showed us a couple of vehicles and then introduced us to Drew, whom showed us the numbers for the vehicle I wanted. I told them that I would get back to them the next day, as I wanted to see what Ford had to offer us. We received a phone call from Vince the next morning, who explained that he would get the work scheduled for the things I wanted, if we did decide to go with them. After some not so good experiences in the Carson City area dealing with Toyota, we decided to go back to Dolan and see what they could do for us. Without going into details, they bent over backwards to find the truck I wanted and to get it at a price we were happy with. Rick, in finance, noticed that the GAP insurance was included, and explained that it wasn't necessary and removed it from the cost of the vehicle, saving us even more money. I decided to leave the vehicle on the lot until the extra work was completed, which they said would be the following Saturday. I received notice that the truck would not be ready Saturday, due to scheduling issues and that I could pick it up on Monday. I wasn't happy about this, but what could I do. On Monday, I called to make sure that the truck was going to be ready. I was told that it would be ready for us. I later received a call from Brandon, who was not working that day, whom told me that the truck would not be ready until Tuesday. I appreciated the extra effort, but again I was not happy about further delays. I was called by Brandon the next day, informing me that the truck was ready. We tried soooo hard to get a vehicle from this dealership and it was so awful we ended up getting nothing. First, Lissa, never helped me finalize my build I created online and waited months of back and forth emailing for her to never submit it. So we went in person to submit a build for this exact car and they took our deposit and said they'd give monthly updates and should arrive in about 6-8months. Months go by and no updates were given. So we call every couple of months and they kept giving us a place in line (that was never in existence) but it ended up being all bs and there were no RAV4 hybrids being allotted to Dolan they had us wait 8 months for nothing. So now that we can't even get the car we tried so hard for and had been lied to multiple times and had multiple incompetent employees...we asked for our refundable deposit back. Which I called for and they didn't know what they were doing and said they will send me a receipt confirmation and I should expect the money in my account in a couple days. Never got a receipt or the money and it had been almost two weeks. So I call back and the lady said she couldn't find my deposit but would have a manager call me back. I gave my phone number and email again just in case and they never called me back. Instead, they email my husband saying they will mail a check instead. Even though they were going to address the check to the wrong person and send it to the wrong address... so we called again and had them confirm the correct information and said we would pick up the check instead. The lady said ok and then told us she'd call the next day when it was complete...another week goes by and still no check. This review deals particularly with the sales & finance department, I've yet to deal with their device department. With sales, I had Nate Pecson helping me out. I was in the market for a Lunar Rock 4Runner, and obviously I did some research on my own and checked other dealerships, so I was relieved to find out that Dolan was selling it at MSRP for the Pro. They put me on the wait list, and Nate was super accessible whether it be calling or texting me to keep me updated. He was super patient even though I kept bugging me about when my vehicle would arrive. They also gave me a good trade-in value for my Honda, which was actually even higher than what the Honda dealership was willing to give me since I had even looked at trading it in at Bill Pierce Honda. When doing the financing part, I had Michael Parker who was super easy to work with, and made everything smooth. He was patient in explaining all the dealer add-ons, what it covered, and helped me get a good interest rate almost 1% lower than what my credit union approved me for. He also hooked it up with some options I added, but I also liked how he didn't pressure me into buying things when I wasn't interested. That's how it should be every time people buy cars. One thing that also stood out was when he saw my occupation, thanked me for helping the community, and just acknowledged what I do. That was beyond expectations. One random fun fact, I had also ran into Gordon Ryan at the airport, who flew from NY just to buy his Tacoma TRD Pro here at Dolan Reno, which also speaks volumes for people traveling this far to buy vehicles. Overall, in terms of sales & financing, I would do business here again as my time was not wasted, Dolan's friendly staff, customer service, communication & brand reliability. I wish I could give zero stars my experience here was absolutely horrible. I came to look at a Chevy Blazer and came back the next day to buy it. As I was originally test driving the car Phillip sat in the back seat on his phone and could not answer a single question about the car stating it was a Chevrolet and they're a Toyota dealership. Your Toyota dealership is selling the car?? The next day I came back to buy the car and test drove it again, I noticed the transmission didn't feel right when accelerating. When I came back I asked if this could be looked at before I buy the car, Phillip said they can look at it after I buy the car but they have a very thorough look at all of the cars before they are put on the lot. I went through with buying the car and made them put it in writing that they would look at the transmission. I left the dealership and the car was barely drive-able so I called asked for them to look at it that day. They put me in a rental car and I thought everything would be resolved. A week went by and I heard nothing on the status, I texted Phillip and he could give no updates. I called the place they said they were getting the car repaired and they did not have my car there. A month goes by that I have been in the rental car and they tell me my car will be too expensive to fix so they are backing out of the sale and ending my loan. At this point I go to the dealership in person and speak to the sales manager about the entire situation. He tells me they don't have a crystal ball and can't predict when these things will happen. I told him you don't need a crystal ball when your customer is telling you prior to buying a car that there is an issue with how it is driving. After talking down to me for a bit he told me that they will do their best to get me in a different car and make things right. They had a new Kia Sportage at a different dealership that I called and asked if we could transfer the loan to, the man told me there is no way they're taking $2,000 off of a car for me and maybe I should look into their clearanced car section. The Blazer I bought was a 2021 and by no means "cheap". Another day goes by that I am looking through their inventory trying to find a different car, and the rude man calls again and says they're backing out of the deal as I am taking too long. At this point I am only communicating with the sales manager and refuse to work with Phillip again. I found a Lexus I liked and came in to look at that and worked with Tyler. Tyler was extremely sweet and the only positive out of this entire experience. I bought the Lexus only to haggled by the financial guy trying to sell me on all their packages who told me it was a good thing the Blazer broke as I got an upgrade. I do love my current car but it is 4 years older than the Blazer and also just not the one I went there to buy. Now almost a year has gone by, they sold me the car with the key fob but without the physical key in the fob. I have called and texted multiple times and have now just accepted that I'm never going to get the physical key. This was the most stressful horrible car buying experience I have ever gone through. I have been looking for a car for my daughter for about three months now. Two months ago, a used CRV was listed in their website. I called to see if it was available and if I could schedule an appointment. They made some calls and called me back. Told me it was at their Dolan Lexus location. And made an appointment for me to see it 45 minutes later. I am so glad my husband didn't take off work to look with me because when I arrived to my appointment not only was it not at the Dolan Lexus (it was at the Dolan Toyota location) I was told it was in the process of being sold. Then yesterday I decided to give them another try. I saw a RAV 4 listed on their website. I called and asked if it was available and what location it was at. I even shared my story about being sent to the wrong dealership a few months before. I was told it was at the Lee Brothers location, that it was there and available to see. They asked when I would there and I said 30-45 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later only to be told that that car was not at their lot. The gentleman at Lee Brothers that helped me was amazing. There was another RAV4 there that was out of my price range but I was able to look at all the features to see what I thought of the vehicle. Seriously! If you drive longer than 15 minutes to get to any vehicle they say they have on their lot, I recommend asking for photo evidence. But then again I wouldn't recommend it anyway because the chances of them selling it even if they make an appointment for you seem pretty high. read more

TL;DR -- I took my car into be serviced. It came back with an 18" crack in the windshield and they didn't make it right. They gave me the run around for a week never returning my calls. They refused to offer any kind of apologies or offer to make it right. They even have a picture of my car before hand without the damage and a photo taken immediately after showing the damage. My service manager was Andrew Lopez I will never return. Honestly I didn't expect much from the place since it's just a giant mill. The workers churn all the time and no one really cares. It's over priced, but at least I can just show up and get my service done by Toyota (and I own a Toyota). But this experience pushed me over the edge. read more

If you live outside of Nevada, don't buy a car here. I live in Truckee just across the border and recently purchased a 2021 tundra. After purchasing had to take the vehicle and have it smogged, weighed and to pay the registration in California at the DMV. The following day, I drove back to Reno with all the paperwork, so they could process it and get my license plates. Dolan held on to this paperwork for more than six weeks before sending it to the California DMV for processing.Now I'm sitting in the DMV getting an extension on my temporary registration because they dropped the ball. Here's an update to my review. This place is sketchy and fraudulent. So they can't put a dollar gas in even though I was charged a very large amount. Never mind it took a month but here's the kicker. They put in a second request to my insurance saying they needed more money for a radiator mount. They made us pay before we could get the car but they never put the new radiator mount in. So we had to pay for something we didn't receive. They said they'd call us once it came in... two months later they have the money and I have used radiator mounts I paid as if they were brand new and no service was done. I was also never contacted about anything or given a response. I will be contacting my insurance as well. Fraud!!! Stay away. I've taken my Toyotas to Dolan Toyota's (formerly Reno Toyota) service department for 22 years (since 2002). The customer service experience had declined in recent years. Today, (6-12-24), I took in my RAV 4 to get a gas cap replaced (something about an oxygen sensor) and the warning light reset. Jacob, a newbie in the service department, told me it would cost me $189 for a diagnostic check and then I would have to pay $100 or more to have the gas cap replaced and the warning light reset. This would take all day, so I would have to leave my car and come back tomorrow. All this, despite the fact I had made an appointment for today. When I protested, a manager named Jackie came out and defiantly told me Dolan stands firm on its high charges and I could basically accept it or leave. I told her how appalled I was at Dolan's lack of commitment to customer service and the service department's unconscionable practice of charging exorbitant prices. She huffed at me and walked away. I took my RAV 4 to Lithia Jeep. The service coordinator, Tony, told me to buy the gas cap at Dolan Toyota, bring it back to Lithia, and he would take care of it. I paid $50 for the gas cap. Lithia Jeep's team replaced it and reset the warning light in 10 minutes! All for a minimal charge! I will never return to Dolan Toyota. read more

I have mixed reviews about this location- Our first car experience was amazing, but this second time around was a bit more complicated for absolutely no reason. I initially was a Honda for life, kinda girl lol- but after Jordan showed us the 2022 Rave Hybrid we fell in love which was a list of 216 other customers in that line... Disheartening, but Jordan knowing I had a black on black Honda Civic showed me this new Toyota Camry Hybrid Nightshade Edition SE- Wow Effect black on black- so I let Jordan know that we were totally interested they took a $500 hold for the car to arrive which was entirely way lower then Honda's $2,000 down payment plus 7-10 month wait. Jordan was quick to tell us about this 2022 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE Nightshade- at first I was hesitant because it was a Camry lol and we were hesitant because we've not actually seen the car except through the website pictures! But the moment we did in person I fell in love- what we didn't like about the experience was that Jordan exaggerated on what the car did come with- which he said it came with heated seats and steering wheel, all season floor mats, and a front of the car wrap which prevents rock chips and the list goes on and on- long story short, Toyota had to re-tint my car windows five times and even then I chose just to give up because It still had blemishes. That's not even counting the four times I had to have the right back side buffed out from the transport of the vehicle to the Toyota Shop. I mean overall I'm totally in love with my vehicle but to be transparent I would say their quality in detailing, buffing and tinting is definitely a one star! But with that said I got to test drive 6 of their vehicles two different ones in the same day which is a little frustrating because it took time from my work schedule to constantly drop off my new car to them to fix which just came back pretty much in the same condition. read more

DO NO TAKE YOUR TOYOTA TO DOLAN FOR SERVICE!!!! I decided to take my vehicle to the dealership After buying a brand new 4Runner. The first 3-4 times was fine, other than being overcharged. However, my last service did not go well. I was advised to get an alignment. I declined since my tire shop does that work. When I took my car to my tire shop they advised me the screws to the skid plate were stripped out. I immediately call Dolan to have it addressed. I was told it's a process and they would need the vehicle all day. In the end, I was told they couldn't fix it because pictures were taken and it couldn't be verified that they did it. It's one thing to correct a mistake and another not to fix it. I would rather go to Carson city than take it back to Dolan! read more

This is a commendation of the Dolan Toyota Service Department. Every 5,000 miles my Toyota Tacoma is due for a Service. The Service Department calls at each 5,000 mile mark, probably from the vehicle data sharing software, to schedule service. The service department is extremely accommodating and very professional and courteous. Today (05-14-2024) I was met by a service representative named Jalynn. She was very friendly even at 7:15 in the morning. She easily checked me in with 5 to 10 minutes and I was on my way. I don't ever write negative reviews but sadly this warrants it. I shopped with Dolan Toyota because I saw a 2024 Tacoma in stock. When I got there I was told the vehicle was reserved, take it off the site then? I then decided I would still give them a chance and look into an older certified truck. I spent time with the salesmen who honestly I can't say did anything wrong. We drove several trucks and I fell in love with one. the mileage year color and condition was perfect. We spent some time negotiating and we went for a few hours. I had an offer on my car from another dealership for a 2024 and so I wanted to make sure if I went with Toyota I was getting the best deal. It was late and the manager who I can't remember his name let me know they would put the truck on a 24 hour hold and I would bring them the offer from the other dealership. I was asked by THEM to come back the next day and THEY promised the 24 hour hold. I worked the next day and asked my family to assist me in communicating with the dealerships and send them the info so I could pick up the truck right after work. We held up the end of our deal, sadly Dolan Toyota did not. After work I pulled into Dolan well before my "24 hour" hold was up to find the truck I was dead set on was sold right as I had pulled into the lot. Nothing that was offered to me after came close to the value of the truck I chose and I had to walk away empty handed. He was dedicated to making everything right for me as the consumer and always vouched for me. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating to my child and I. I bought a car here and at first they seemed really nice and personal, however as soon as we got to finance they were being extremely pushy about the warranty we went back and forth for 2 hours. They also lied to me about my interest rate. They said I got a 9 percent and if I got the warranties I would get a 8.25 percent interest rate, I refused the warranty and he said the bank came back and gave me a 7.5 interest rate for my loan. So I got approved for 7.5 since the beginning and they raised it, to make the warranty seem like they were giving me a better deal. They also used my Mexican culture to act friendly read more

5 STARS for 1 particular employee - Sara Rooker in sales. If you are looking to buy a car, deal with zero bs, and work with an honest non pressure individual, Sara is the one! HIGHLY recommend asking to work with her. I was looking for a car over a period of a couple months, and am so glad I had the opportunity to work with her. She found me exactly what I needed (was looking for a certified used), was totally transparent about the entire process, and made it such a smooth experience. THANK YOU SARA! As for the rest of my experience there, I'd say it would be a 3-4 star. Buying it was smooth with paperwork, etc. Service down the road has been mostly smooth. But there are times they dont call back, and there are often 'upsells' in regards to suggested services. I've had Toyotas for years, and love them. Just wish the service department didnt try so many 'needed' suggestions. read more
