There is Uyghur art of different types throughout the restaurant, which has two levels. I ordered two different samsas (beef and pumpkin) and korma with lamb. The pumpkin one tastes as good as it smells. What a yummy and comfort treat. The beef begins with a subtle flavor and then builds with every bite. I asked for medium heat on my korma (the noodle dish). It was delicious and spicy. I hope to try the Dolan pot of tea, if I am blessed to be in this area again. Dinner was truly lovely. read more

Booked a table a few weeks in advance for ten people and we had a lovely table upstairs! The restaurant is larger than I thought and they can easily accommodate large parties with online reservations. We shared a bunch of different appetizers and entrees - the favorites were the goshnan, korma chop, and royal laghman. This is a great restaurant to share a bunch of dishes as they're definitely designed to share. They have varying levels of spice and we opted for medium for everything. Noodles are clearly made in house and super chewy and delicious. We got the dolan cake for dessert and that was our favorite dish of the night so definitely save room for dessert! Definitely a 4/4.5 star place. I really wish the menus were on paper - you have to scan a QR code to look at everything which isn't my favorite. Uyghur food is quite interesting -- it reminded me of the books I've read on how cuisine has traveled along the Silk Road. The laghman Is similar to Chinese La Mian (hand pulled noodles that are slightly al dente) and the kebabs are straight from Turkish cuisine. Which obviously makes sense given that Uyghurs are Turkish speaking people in China. The space is clean, but service is a bit slow--they seem to be understaffed. read more

They serve coffee during the day where I assume they have their pastries. Highlight was the korma chop - you definitely should specify your spice level. Medium was perfect and not too overpowering. The sauce that this comes with is so yummy. Wasn't a fan of the fried eggplant - it was on the sweeter side and the peppers weren't sautéed long enough. Recently tried this place after hearing several positive recommendations. We sat on the first floor at a table for two. The restaurant has a more causal interior and is very clean. The menu had so many options we asked the waiter for recommendations. We got the naan which came with honey to dip in. The naan was ok and decent to dip in the sauce of the noodles but I would recommend getting a different side dish. We split two noodles dishes, the Korma Chop and the Royal Laghman. We picked beef for both. Both tasted like a grandmother's handmade dinner. These dishes felt like a warm hug. Really great flavor and each element was cooked perfectly. For dessert wine of the servers recommended we look at the different options in the dessert case at the front. We decided to get the walnut flavor of the Dolan Cake. I don't get many opportunities to try Uyghur food, so I was really excited to have lunch here. Laghman noodles were delicious, toothsome noodles in a savory, tangy sauce. The tofu is amazing once soaked in the sauce and the vegetables are cooked perfectly. My friend had their lentil soup, and it was very smooth, with a unique and delicious flavor. My daughter has recently moved to the D.C. area and is determined to try as many different types of cuisines from the many cultures that call this area home. I was more than pleased to try Uyghur cuisine recently. Parking was found around the corner on the street. There is an upstairs and downstairs with cozy areas to sit and dine. Large glass windows in front offer a nice view of the activities of this eclectic neighborhood. Our first foray into Uyghur cuisine was a delight and introduced a delightfull mix of different flavors of well prepared foods. We started with a large French press style carafe filled with one of the most delicious teas I have had in a while. They have their own blend of Dolan Gul Chai which is a floral tea. It was so enjoyed by both of us that we both purchased the 100g canister of this tea to bring home. For appetizers we tried both the Samsa which had minced beef, lamb and onion and the Kawa .Samsa that was filled with butternut squash onions and peppers. They were delicious but sadly served as just piece. We also tried the Arlash Korma, Goshnan and saved room for a dessert of Uyghur. I would definitely like to come back and try more of their traditional styles of food. My only disappointment was that the service was quite slow. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and a pre-holiday weekend. When we did see our server she was helpful and multitasked the dining areas. read more

We walked in for our reservation and were pointed to our table right by the window. The feeling inside is cozy and approachable and the staff were very kind and helpful. The korma chop noodles are very comforting without feeling heavy. The lamb version was more flavorful than the chicken and I'd certainly get the lamb again. Things didn't go perfect on my first visit but the staff was very apologetic and also provided a free dessert to make up for the trouble. I ordered a noodle dish MILD and it came out quite hot. I should have sent it back but by the time they came to check on us I had already eaten quite a bit and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. My friend's kid had gotten the same dish and they did remake hers and we all tasted and agreed the mild version was delicious. The pumpkin pastry was absolutely delicious and I hope I can try the noodle dish again actually mild. I liked how the tofu was prepared for the dish and the noodles have the best texture. I only had Uyghur food in a couple places and was very excited to try. I believe Uyghur is pronounced we-ger. I tried the Laghman: pronounced like ramen but with an L I believe. The hand stretched noodles are made here fresh and are super thick, long, chewy, meaty and delicious. I absolutely loved them. The noodles do not contain eggs. I got my laghman with tofu and vegetables and it had some wood ear mushrooms. I ordered it at the highest spice level and it was delicious. There was some broth/ sauce and it almost reminded me of a combo of a Chinese sauce and a NM strong red Chilli. It was quite interesting. The decor here was nice too and I really liked their chilli crisp. I had to repeat this spot to try more and tried the Korma chop noodles (I had to get something with those same amazing hand pulled noodles again!). I really loved it. I ordered it at the highest spice level as well. These noodles are best eaten fresh and not as leftovers. I hope to try more in the future in one of their locations (sounds like the ones in CA with same name have different ownership)! My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. Great place to try some cool Uyghur food!! There's a cozy cafe inside and outdoor seating available. I came on a Friday around 12 pm and were seated immediately with no wait. Korma Chop (5/5): I got the classic korma chop based on the reviews (most people seem to order this). It is a super rich noodle stirfry tossed with some veggies and your choice of meat (I chose beef). The noodles were thick and hand-pulled, perfect texture. I also loved the flavors, Spicy but not too overpowering. Not too salty nor oily, perfect amount of sauce and seasoning. Sesame seeds on top. It was also a good portion size. I would get it again! Chuchurra (4/5): I was not that big of a fan of this soup because personally, I'm not a huge fan of lamb or gamey meats. But I can see how others would enjoy this. Flavorful and hearty lamb broth with mini lamb/beef wontons and little bits of cilantro. A bit on the saltier side. I heard they're opening a location in Rockville which will be closer to me! Everything about my experience here was excellent. I stopped for lunch and got the Royal Laghman. With lamb. The portioning was reasonable and the flavor was very unique. The service was also exceptional. The staff answered my questions and gave good recommendations. The restaurant was very clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. If you are ever in the DC area, I'd highly recommend checking this place out. Parking is somewhat difficult as it is in a traditional urban neighborhood so I'd recommend taking the metro which the restaurant is located directly off of. The highpoints were the Uyghur salad and the Uyghur tea. The salad looks very simple and uninteresting, but looks are deceiving: it is composed of veggies and dried goat cheese with a complex range of flavors...I could have eaten more. This was my first visit to a Uyghur restaurant, though not my first time having Uyghur food. We arrived around 5 and got a seat without a reservation. We ordered the cold skin noodles based off reading other reviews and they were fantastic--probably our favorite part of the meal with their tangy sauce and perfect level of spice. My tofu dish was very tasty and spicy--nothing like Mapo tofu which I always find to be lacking in flavor. My brother loved his Dolan noodles, though he would have like even more sauce to scoop them up with. The crowning moment of the night was after I mentioned that I was paying the full bill (rather than a split check) because it was my brother's birthday. This was our first visit to this restaurant that is located near Cleveland Park Metro Station. It is a two story restaurant. We sat on the second floor since we needed a large table. The menu must be retrieved on your cell phone. The waiter took our order within 10 minutes and entrees were served within 10-20 minutes. Water bottles are left at the table for refills. We tried fried calamari as an appetizer, which was tasty and looked like French fries. For entrees, we had Hot Chicken Stew, Beef Katlima, Korma Chop Noodles, and Fried Eggplant. All the entrees were large. They looked spicy, but weren't. Lots of garlic added for flavoring. Service was slow after we finished eating. Our waiter was gone and didn't tell us. There's nice outdoor seating with umbrellas. We ordered mushroom salad, Mom's Laghman, and the Kawa goshan for my sister, myself, and 4 year old nephew. The mushroom salad is served cold, it has a vinegary sauce with pickled sweet peppers and onions. The mushrooms themselves do not absorb the sauce/flavor well, so make sure to get everything in each bite. I probably wouldn't order again. Mom's Laghman was spicy (very spicy to my nephew -- he was pounding the water). Very flavorful, heat was there, but not overpowering. The noodles were soft, slightly chewy. I enjoyed this and it was a nice foil to the Kawa Goshan, which was slightly sweet with the pumpkin, and the cooking yogurt dip. These were both delicious and I recommend ordering them (or variations of) as a pair. Service was attentive. I actually had issues with the yelp app and purchasing their $5 off $20 Yelp coupon, but they still honored it. This was my first time trying Uyghur food, and it was delightful.
