    Ambience with flavours options

This is a great place to try really good different flavours of ice cream in Vancouver. We were a big group so got a chance to try bunch of flavours. I personally took pistachio and white cookie cream flavour which were nice. Favourite was dark hazelnut chocolate which is their signature as well. Service is fast and they let you taste bunch of flavours and quantity is really good for the price. The ambience is great and there is a huge queue and it's a wait in that sense. It's pretty popular place and stays crowded. Must try and highly recommend. They have other branches to checkout as well.

It is the perfect season for gelato! We dropped by Doce amore to get gelato. What we got: Caramel pecan banana bread, dons of dough, and ganster toffee life. Caramel pecan banana bread was a highlight. Chunk of banana bread mixed into gelato, and really enjoyed crunchy pecan and caramel flavored gelato. Delicious. Dons of dough had chunk of cookie dough. It was quite sweet. Gelato texture was very creamy. I only had a bite of Gangster toffee life which had toffee pieces. It was also very sweet item. Overall, I thought their gelato texture was very creamy and tasted very sweet. Gelato started melting right after it was served, I hope it would be a bit more firmer. It gelato shop with variety of unique ingredient and flavors!

I love Dolce Amore. Still waiting on the Commercial Drive location to be rebuilt but I've been stopping in the North Vancouver location from time to time. Came to their newest location recently and found it to be a bit underwhelming, compared to their other locations. This location is shared with a restaurant that's not open yet so seating is limited to outdoor patio seating in the front or on the side of the building. I found it a bit of an odd layout. It felt more like an ice cream stall that you walk up to (but a more permanent one). Maybe it's the weather lately or maybe it's because the gelato section feels like it's half indoor/half outdoor, but the gelato was not as solid as it is at other locations. A solid start representing dolce amore in this neighborhood but hopeful to see it in its full glory once the restaurant side has opened up.

Haven't had tbe chance to check out this Dolce Amore trifecta (gelato, cafe, restaurant) until now. I know them for their gelato and today I tried the cafe. There is also a restaurant attached that had very unique hat-themed lighting ! I tried a baked good - I think it was called rhe flower blossom. They had a bunch of other pastries that looked fresh and as we left they had put out the variety of sandwiches and flat breads. Looked yummy so would definitely come back to try them. If you had it for here they heated up the pastries for you and so that made it more delicious. My flower blossom pastry has various fillings each day because it says to ask server what the filling is. Same for the tart and some other pastries. I like this for the variety and you may never get the same baked good. They have self serve water and utensils at a station in the sitting area. The place had high end cafe vibes and was clean. I was intrigued by the house made nut butter which were also on display for sale. Would have to come back to try the dinner on the restaurant side and a lot more items!

Dolce amore has opened yet another new outlet, this time it comes with a gelato shop, cafe and restaurant! We tried our the cafe on this visit and their iced latte was pretty tasty! Looking forward to a longer visit next time to try their other pastry items!

There were a few unique flavors of gelato like yuzu and black sesame. It was intense in flavor and super smooth. In addition to gelato, there's also cakes/pastries. Those too were also really good. The pear almond crostini was delicious. PS on the day I visited, the temperature inside was warmer than outside. The air was also pretty stale which downgraded the ambiance however it was something minor.

This time, I visited to try their limited item for the Hot Chocolate Festival. #021 Milano Tehran - A luxurious fusion of flavors, this hot chocolate pairs the rich, floral notes of Iranian saffron with the creamy smoothness of Callebaut's premium Belgian white chocolate. Served with an in-house-made cannoli piped with pistachio gelato. The white chocolate texture was smooth, and I liked the balance of sweetness. The standout item was the pistachio gelato in the cannoli. As usual, the gelato was very delicious. However, the hot chocolate temperature was too high, and it seemed to have lost some of its flavor because of that. It was hard for me to taste the saffron flavor or the floral notes. I think I will revisit to try a different item, though the gelato never disappoints.

Another option for ice cream along the Heights, hooray!…read more Lots of flavours that go beyond the standard list, so it can be tough to choose. Thank goodness they do samples! Personally really like that they have solid regular offerings, as well as new seasonal flavours rotated in to try. The flavours are inventive and unique and always tempt me when I walk by. Easy choice for dessert if you are in the area! Shop is small though, so during busy times, you'll most likely have to take it to go instead of enjoying it inside.

They have some wonderfully unique flavors like Matcha Strawberry Fog and Yuzu Black Tea Sorbet. There's a sign in there that says you can sample up to two different flavors. Kinda kicking myself for not having taken advantage of that offer. I like the options for ordering. For example, there's single scoop but there's also kids sizes so one could could order a kids' sized double scoop where the scoop sizes would be smaller which would enable one to try more flavors without over filling the stomach. They also have flights which is supposed to be 4 kid sized scoops of ice cream in a rectangular sized box. I was very tempted to get a flight and share it with my daughter but we were both feeling quite full already from lunch and decided to be more conservative with the amount of ice cream we were ordering, so we each ordered just one scoop each. My daughter had the Wild Chocolate Chip Mint and I had the Horchata. My daughter was expecting the tingly kind of mint flavor that one gets from putting mint extract into something but this mint was more of a natural mint flavoring that you would get from using actual mint leaves. It wasn't a bad flavor and in fact for some it might even be considered a better version of Chocolate Chip Mint but it wasn't quite what she was expecting. She would have preferred the usual kind of mint that tingles more. I enjoyed my Horchata ice cream but I think I like the actual drink more than I liked this ice cream. Tried a tiny scoop of our friend's Matcha Strawberry Fog and loved that. That was one of the flavors I'd been eyeing myself and I kinda wished I'd gotten that flavor instead of Horchata. Might go for that next time!

I ordered their sweet potato cheesecake instead because I have never tried it before. It sure didn't disappoint! The cheesecake is creamy and not overly sweet. We also ordered a latte and a lavender oat latte. Their latte isn't too strong but their lavender oat latte is good. There is a strong lavender flavor. I think their best dessert is their tiramisu. The service was quick and we snagged the last open table. The interior was eclectic and the outdoor style chairs that were used for inside seating were a bit uncomfortable but it all contributed to this intimate, non chain, independent cafe. The strawberry matcha latte was a standout! The real strawberry pieces mixed within were delightful. The maple latte was just average. Nothing at all exciting to report. For some reason it lacked luster. Unfortunately it was enough to cot them a star.
