one of the best gelato places in town. They do have a few changing seasonal flavours too. Their flavour selection isnt all that adventurous but everything they make is solid. Nice texture to the gelato, bold punchy flavours, creamy but still light. Service is fine, but they get busy and there is a wait. You get in line, pay for what quantities you want first, then take receipt to the counter to taste and pick your products. They also have a coffee/affogato bar with boozy options, some cookies, cakes, gelato sandwiches, and some on a stick. There is street metered parking nearby. The shop itself is clean, bright, modern. A few places to sit but most people take out. Reliable and consistent which is why I keep coming back. Pricing isnt cheap but its in-line with other gelato places. theyre a solid 4.5/5. Not quite 5/5, but definitely better than a 4/5. read more

This shop was recommended to me by our Yelp elite squad and it's definitely a solid choice for gelato year round. I am impressed by their service, even when placing an order online as they would follow up with text messages. Their ambiance in the North Vancouver spot is chic but on the small side for dining in. Try out their featured flavors or their vegan options to discover your favorite flavors. I love their flavors with pistachios and vanilla. It's a nice choice to buy desserts to enjoy with friends -- Brighten someone's day by bringing dolce amore to them in pints! Hot summer day. Needed ice cream. Came here. Got ice cream. Mission accomplished! Love that they offer to let you sample flavors here before buying anything. I tried the Akbar Mashti and Gangster Toffee Life. They were both pretty good and in the end I decided to get a single scoop cup of Gangster Toffee Life. A family friend who was with us chose the Akbar Mashti for her single scoop. I'm not usually a fan of ice cream that has chunks of stuff in it, but the Gangster Toffee Life was an exception. Decisions decisions. They had so many lovely flavors to choose from. It was difficult to decide. This is my go to ice cream spot. Great people, great flavours. True gelato, lots of seasonal flavours of the month. But we always come back to gianduia. It has the perfect sticky gelato texture, has bits of hazelnuts and chocolate in it. We almost always pick up a pint and a cone when we are here. Their loyalty program is great too! Lovely ambiance, we miss their commercial location but this one has coffee and affogato as well. They have vegan flavours that don't taste much different from the non vegan ones. You may request for samples. The lines move fast but I only had to queue on hot summer weekends. read more

I love the original location on the drive, but as they unfortunately suffered a fire and aren't open till next year I've been visiting their new beautiful LoLo Lounge location. It's so beautifully decorated and more spacious than the commercial drive location. They have all the same flavours, a coffee bar, and a bigger variety of baked food than just cookies. You know the gelato is good when they're constantly scooping pints for pickup! One of my new favourite things is their Gelattes; it's gelato & coffee but not just poured over it's blended together unlike an affogato. Unfortunately strongly disappointed by this place. Wanted to like it! We walked in and they immediately loudly told us we have to pay before looking at the flavours. How do we know how many scoops we want if we don't see what is available? The first server said we could have as many samples as we wanted then, after we paid, they changed it to "up to 3 samples". Also, can we talk about their exorbitant prices? 2 flavours in a cup cost more than $9. Would recommend going to Earnest which is just 1 block away and the staff are much more friendly. read more

Me and my best friend found this place online we are originally from Los Angeles, California. We are here nearby North Vancouver on vacation and we love gelato and coffee. I asked the guy in the front what he recommended he was nice! I got a ge-latte which is coffee with an added gelato scoop and it was so so yummy while my friend got two scoops one chocolate and one birthday cake pretty yummy as well!! Dolce Amore was the first gelato or ice cream maker in BC to use organic grass-fed milk, and we are so darn proud of this. All of our flavours are made with a minimum of 80% organic ingredients. So there is no fake colourings, no mono- or di-glycerides, no emulsifiers. It’s our way of showing you that we focus on quality, and that we care about what’s going into our gelato. Since the receipt doesn't indicate the percentage of tips given so I returned to inquire, the owners were defensive. They said I was the one who pressed the wrong button. I insisted to run through the transaction again and proved I was not making it up (15% became 30% and 30% was more than 30%!). Then they said it's not their fault, it's the pos machine's problem. They were not apologetic and with an attitude, had the gull to ask exactly how much tips I wanted to give. I said 15% so they gave be a refund of the difference. I sat nearby to eat the gelato and noticed they kept at their transactions but made no attempts to advise the customers of their claimed of machine problem! I urge everyone to check your receipts and don't go unless you don't mind being scammed! Expecting tips for scooping high cost, small quantity ice-cream is already bad enough! As I watched the preparations, I was disappointed to see the final product topped with Smuckers brand chocolate. Higher quality ingredients would do a crepe good. Sadly, I allowed this place to charge an extra $5 in the currency exchange. I attributed it to tax and a tip, but in the end, two crepes with fruit (and one with three little scoops of ice cream) should not have cost $25 CAD. Be conscious of conversion rates ahead of time and allow at least a half hour - 45 minutes to eat if you're going to come here.

Our server was very nice and able to answer any questions we had about the menu. Wifey ordered the mighty Monte cristo benny. I ordered the Charlie bowl. The bowl was very hearty hott mess in a good way. Very filling, tasty with all the good bits of bacon, ham, sausage gravy all throughout. I had to take half home as it was a bit much for me. Wifeys Benny was decent, the hollandaise was more mayoee than regular hollandaise and there was a sweet drizzle on the eggs I personally was not a fan but I can see it's appeal to others. Serving size are very decent. Overall this location is good and we will visit again. Lovely servers, good food and atmosphere!

The burgers (both beef and salmon option) are so good! As well as the really crispy fries. They have a good outdoor space and are doggy friendly.

Old fashioned to me, are donuts that taste like there is more milk and eggs in the batter. The base is very filling and more dense- almost cake batter like. Very different from the super fluffy ones that has been trending the past few years.
