The place is a model of what a casual breakfast/lunch place should be. The menu is huge with a large variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads, soups, baked goods, and coffees. We ordered at the counter and the food came out within 10 minutes. I forgot what my sandwich was called, but it had bacon, a healthy amount of egg, cheese, ketchup and mayonnaise on toasted bread. It sounds simple, but it was absolutely delicious. Make sure you look around the counter and the restaurant, as they have additional menu items not written on the chalk board behind the counter. I was bummed to see that they had a sandwich with pork roll on it (in upstate New York?!) but was still happy with my meal. My girlfriend got the veggie delight sandwich, which she had finished before I had the chance to ask her how she liked it (meaning she did very much). They have a variety of pastries and chocolates for sale too. The chocolates are definitely gourmet and beautiful looking, but also $3 a piece. This place was quick, delicious, and the staff were all friendly. Highly recommended for someone in search of a quick and delicious bite to eat. read more

The veggie delight sandwich that I had was fine, and I liked how they toasted the bagel and made my egg over easy when I requested it. What really bugged me, though, was that the menu they have on the large board behind the register - the only menu they display - shows the wrong pricing. The real prices are actually higher. If I hadn't need to approve the transaction on their tablet, I wouldn't have known that the price they charged was more expensive than what the menu said. When I asked, they said they changed the prices but didn't change the board. Yes, I know prices subject to change anytime and so on, but it just seems shady to up the price without updating the board - the one place where people look at to order. read more

What can I say? Don't go here at 11 AM on a Saturday. I had to park at a furniture store kitty corner to the restaurant. I waited in line for twenty five minutes to place my order of a smoothie and a egg and cheese bagel. After fifteen minutes of waiting in their cramped nonexistent waiting space, I received a smoothie that had dripped all over the outside of the cup. Sadly there were no napkins accessible to me in this waiting area (and getting to other areas would have necessitated pushing others out of the way). Then after another fifteen minute wait (where I was repeatedly pushed around by other patrons), I received my "egg and cheese" bagel sandwich. When I brought it home (as there was nowhere to sit), I saw that it had bacon on it. As a vegetarian, I couldn't eat it and it had to be thrown out. Quite a trek from Cornell University without a car, but worth the trip! Their chocolate croissant and green monster breakfast sandwich (egg guacamole and hot sauce on English muffin) were stellar. They were totally decked out for the holidays so the whole atmosphere with holiday music was so cozy it made it hard to get up and leave. Even the tables and chairs were so beautiful. There's not a ton of seating so you might not get a spot when it gets busy. If I were an IC student, I'd be here all the time. read more

This is a really cozy place for breakfast and early lunches. My friend and I had the Veggie delight on an everything bagel (egg, avocado, spinach, tomato, and cheese), Joey's special on a plain bagel (egg, sausage, turkey bacon, cheese, and salt and pepper) with ketchup, and iced chai lattes (so delicious). There is a decent amount of seating inside, as well as picnic tables outside the establishment. The staff is very friendly (family-owned business) and they bring the food out to you. Ketchup and hot sauce packets are available at the end table, as well as extra creamer, milk, crackers, and napkins. They also serve desserts (truffles, cakes, pies). Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I'd be happy to have a place like Dolce in my neighborhood. There are tons of menu options, and everything sounds amazing. I had a Louie bagel, which was an exceptional everything bagel with egg, tomato, provolone, and a delicious artichoke pesto. It's worth a day full of poppy seeds and garlic breath. So good. The only criticism I have is about general appearance. It's homey and comfortable, but there are a few glaring cleanliness issues that should be addressed. (Stained ceiling tiles, dead bugs in the florescent lights.) But, it's not my home. Everyone is free to keep their home however they want. Amazing food. Great service. This little coffee shop/cafe/bakery is just south of Ithaca on rte 96B about 1/4 mile from La Tourelle where i was staying. Almost across from Ithaca College. My first visit I got an egg sandwich on a bagel with guacamole, swiss and kale (about $5). It was delicious!! I still had time to kill so I had a latte (?) and a large cookie ($2) They recommended the peanut butter chocolate chip. Wonderful! Also got a ginger snap for my daughter. Also yummy. Went back this morning for breakfast. I got a veggie egg bagel and daughter got a cinnamon roll. They bring the food to your table which is nicer than calling out your name, and coffee in nice cup. The cinnamon roll wasn't heated so asked them to warm it. It had plenty of frosting which had cinnamon in it, making it special tasting. The pies looked amazing. Lots of other baked goods. Chipotle cheddar biscuits looked interesting. Also higher end chocolates. Cute decor. Old fashioned cafe tables and odds and ends of retail items. I went here for breakfast in July 2020. They are enforcing social distancing (different entrance and exit, etc). There is some outdoor seating. I highly recommend the dolce special sandwich, it is spicy and sweet. We didn't have to wait too long for our food and they brought it out to our table. I took off one star for the barista being a little bit rude. The parking lot has plenty of space. Next time I am in Ithaca I will definitely be back for the dolce special. read more

Thank goodness for timing; we walked in on a Saturday morning and strolled right up to the counter. Not two minutes later, the line was out the door--which would have turned me on my heel. The Dolce Special was out of control yummy. The biscuit was flavorful and flakey, and the hot pepper jelly gave it just the right kick. Hubby had the Sweet Piggy and loved it as well. Very poor customer service. First, I waited for over 20 mins and when I saw 5-6 people come after me and get their food before me . Went in to enquire and my food was ready ; for whatever reason it was just there and they didn't bring it out to me. No apologies , nothing. Second, I go back in to order again. Ask for the menu as it had a few "build your own sandwiches " and I'm met with a curt "what do you need the menu for, it's got the same info as the board". Was taken aback to react but now I wish I had told the person how rude she was. The food itself was good , and I can see how it's a favorite among locals so while my review won't get these guys to change ; it's my own little way of telling those who care to stay away if you care about being respected when at an establishment. read more

If you are looking for a breakfast sandwich, this place has the best one. I ordered the Dolce Delight and ham, egg, and cheese was in between this chipotle biscuit. The biscuit seemed freshly made and was not dry at all. There was also jam spread on the inside of the biscuit, so it had a sweet and spicy taste. Whenever I walk into Dolce, I feel warm and fuzzy inside. It has a quaint, homemade, feel to it. There are several tables inside, as well as outside, to eat at. There are various food options here: Purity ice cream, coffees (as well as specially made warm drink specials), there is soy milk for an extra $0.50, bagels, freshly made muffins, biscuits, cookies, there are small personal pies, and larger ones. There is a selection of vegan products from Emmy's Organics, and vegan soups from Moosewood. They now also have lunch/breakfast foods such as egg sandwiches, hotdogs, and quiches. There are scattered candies around the store, and the store always fits whatever holiday is coming up. The prices are extremely reasonable. The owner is extremely warm, welcoming, and nice. There is also wireless internet to sit and do work. I would certainly recommend Dolce Delight to anyone wanting some good homemade goodies. read more

Dolce Delight is mother and daughter run and I had met the daughter, Christina, who served and made my breakfast. A breakfast croissant with egg, cheddar, spinach, and mayo. Second time I've had this, first time with feta instead of cheddar, and both deliciously hit the spot. I have also had two of their pastries, a cinnamon roll, and I can't remember the other one, both wonderfully tasty. Served on toasted ciabatta bread. Don't be deceived by its size. It doesn't look really big, but I was so full after eating it, I had no room for the chips that came with it.
