I rarely write reviews, if at all, but felt compelled to leave this humble lady and artist a candid and sincere review, as she deserves it. I am FLOORED by her artistry and skill set, her God given talent. The Salon-Dolce is a beautiful, modern, professional and gorgeous salon with world class service! After I went to Dolce, I observed other hair stylists and colourists at work and was, still am taken and very impressed by the high level of advanced techniques they utilize. Nothing "cannot be done" at Dolce. Nothing is "impossible" at Dolce. Go to Dolce, you won't be disappointed! What can I say about the AMAZING Aura? I am one of the most, if not THE most selective person when it comes to hair and beauty. I have been going to Vidal Sassoon and Bumble and Bumble exclusively throughout my life and, since my teenage years. Irrespective of what country I travelled to, I would not break my loyalty towards internationally known salons, UNTIL I met the amazing Aura at Dolce! What a salon and, what an artist! After years of getting my hair done in the city, i.e. NYC, I recently moved to the area of Millburn in NJ and have been desperately looking for not just a solid and reliable salon, but, beyond that, I have been searching for a true ARTIST, one that is up to date and fully educated with new, globally introduced, colouring techniques and, an artist that contemporaneously is capable of mastering the art of cutting! I researched Aura's beauty repertoire and work extensively before I booked my appointment with her and, I purposely selected her, didn't want to see anybody else. I walked in with very long hair, all the way to my back with a most beautiful Blonde Balayage Ombré I have been wearing for years and desperately sought a change. I showed Aura several photos of what I had in mind, but also, trusted her artistic assessment and hand. Let the transformation begin. I came into the salon, with a thirst for change, but concerned about ending up with a chopped, long bob that might have been "too short" for me or, that the colour ended up too brassy or just not what I wanted, as often hair stylists don't listen. I also leaned towards a darker, fuller, richer and mysterious look, but didn't quite want to look like a celebrity. I wanted the cut to be me - easy maintenance, but looking like a million dollar bucks with my work demanding schedule that simply does not allow me to spend much time in front of the mirror. Wash and go - that's my motto in life, always has been, yet, with a fine, polished and playful look. I am well aware that my request is demanding. But, a true artist can make it happen, as have my former chosen hair stylists. Aura DOES LISTEN and, beyond that, she is not just a "hair stylist". She is a TRUE ARTIST, gifted and yet, so humble, quirky, kind, patient and caring about her clients. Most artists of her caliber are arrogant, self-indulgent, don't listen to their clients, are unreasonably, ridiculously and unnecessarily expensive, pompous and not personable, boasting with cockiness, detached from reality and the needs of their clients who live every day, "normal" lives with different needs than a runway model living on the catwalk in a utopia of glam light. Aura's skill set exceeds her industry peers' and, unlike many artists and hair stylists I have met, she GENUINELY cares about making her clients happy. After having avidly listened to my needs and what I sought, Aura gave me EXACTLY what I sought and MORE: An edgy, modern, sleek, elegant, sophisticated, polished, but playful and easy to maintain look. Cut - ON POINT Colour - ON POINT Seldom does one have the privilege, the honour and the delight to experience the hands of a hair wizard, one that is well rounded and fully skilled in EVERY aspect of hair, from colour to cut to extensions and, as if all of the latter weren't enough - I discovered that Miss Aura is a world class make-up artist as well! She is what one may call a "triple threat" to any of her contenders in the hair & beauty industry. I have never left a salon with tears in my eyes, tears of joy - I did with Aura and could barely contain myself. THANK YOU, dear Aura for having shared your world class and God given talent with me and, with the rest of the tri-state area. Thanks to you, since I moved to this area, I no longer have to commute to the city to obtain elite hair and beauty service. In one afternoon and session, you managed to have completely won me over as a new client and, beyond that, I have already recommended you to all of my colleagues and friends, as everyone asked me about the woman who is a "magician" and transformed me into a whole different woman. This was my first time at Dolce Salon and if I could describe it in one word- incredible. You just FEEL glamorous the second you walk into the open floor plan with giant mirrors and bright lights scattered around. I was there for a balyage and blowout by Aura Flores, who is truly a master at her craft. The time waiting for color to set was aided by a cold glass of prosecco and friendly conversation with different staff members. Being a red head who has never ventured too far from my natural color, I was blown away. The color went so well, and blended so naturally with my red hair. I wish I could give this place 10 stars! The inside was lovely, and Sofia, the stylist who did my hair, was amazing! She was so nice and welcoming! I really didn't feel like I was talking to a stranger, I was talking to someone who cared a lot for what I had to say! She did a great job doing my hair, all she did was a simple blowout and it looks like I got this done at a million dollar salon! This salon is a wonderful place, DEFINITELY recommend getting your hair done here. I also want to talk about the stylist who washed my hair. Her name was Kaelyn, and she was super nice. On advice from a friend, I recently came here for cut and color. First I'd like to state that this is a huge salon and is run like a small factory. Every hair stylist has their own chair and must provide their own styling products, brushes and hair dryers. The place is abuzz the entire time with lots of chatter and the sound of hair dryers. The stylist mixed my color but not my glaze. Instead this was done by the shampoo girl, which I found odd since the cost of the color is quite steep ($80)! She then proceeded to cut my hair, but did not do a good job despite my telling her I didn't want to cut a lot, which she did. In the end, my hair was much darker than I would have wanted it to be and the cut much shorter. When I complained about the color being too dark, she told me I could get highlights for $80 (partial) but I'd need to also schedule a blow out since I can't dry it myself. So in addition to the 1-color process $80 and haircut $85, they want me to pay an additional $120 for 10 foils, which I think is preposterous! Not returning. read more

So.. for atleast 20 years I've been dragging myself to the city for highlights and here in my very own NJ is a hair color highlighting genius, Amanda Taylor. I have really dark brown hair (with more and more greys :( but she somehow works her magic and makes it into a masterpiece .. perfect supermodel looking caramel highlights and greys all gone (for now anyway) No more driving into the city ..she's way better. read more

OMG. I FINALLY MET MY HAIR-MATE. I honestly feel like going on a rant about how amazing Aleck is. She is a hair magician. I mean you can tell by my before and after picture. She was super sweet from the door and I felt super comfortable with her and her assistant/stylist (forgot her name). I was actually contemplating on whether or not to write this review because then ppl are going to see her talent and she's going to be super booked and I can't have her all to myself !! But seriously though, I have never ever felt so happy about my end results until today. I was so happy I gave her a hug before we said goodbye. I mean cmon you know how important hair is ladies!!!! Literally the worst salon and spa I've ever been to. I made an appointment after reading the positive reviews and could not be more disappointed. Go anywhere but here. I had hair extending to my lower back and when I met with Gerry for my haircut we decided that we would cut it to reach below my chest or midback length. A good 5 inches. He proceeded to cut more than five inches while my hair was still dry before being washed. After it was washed he continued to cut and then cut layers into it and I ended up with hair that just reaches just below my shoulders. This cut was a good double the length talked about. When I explained it was much shorter than I wanted he said he just got caught up with cutting. My hair is very healthy and very thick and so it was not cut that short for any reason like split ends or unhealthy hair or anything along those lines. Also the price was more than was told to me on the phone. Also had a spa appointment right after to get gel mani. Won't get into much detail with this but at no point did she have me wash my hands as most salons do before the nail polish was placed. Didn't shape nails well and nail polish did not even extend to my cuticle. Also a friend or maybe another client sat talking to her the whole time. I actually called later that day to speak with a manager. I did not want to be that person to immediately write a bad review and preferred to have a direct conversation with management and leave it be. The receptionist told me Kelly had left for the day and would get back to me the following day. Never received a call back. Horrible all around. read more

Recently had bridal Makeup done by Aura and she absolutely slayed! Besides being extremely personable and fun to talk to, all of her products are high, clean and well maintained. She did all 5 bridesmaids and kept everyone's look cohesive but accommodated all of our skin tones and brow shapes. I felt beautiful but didn't feel like I had a pound of make up on my face. I did a single process which came out uneven compared with my previous color.(understandable but still think it's overpriced) She told me to come back to do the highlights and glaze and of course I have to pay extra $$$ What really DISAPPOINTED me was the RECEPTIONIST (lady who sits in the middle). You are supposed to be the first impression of the house. I was standing right in front of her waiting to pay... I hear silence for 20 seconds. Went in asking for layers and a trim...went out looking like it had layers from a blow dry. I specifically asked for face framing layers and now that I've washed and straightened my hair, it looks like it was cut straight across. No layers or shape whatsoever.
