WARNING!!!! Do not book at this hair salon or with Jenny Jennifer Mohn!! The most unprofessional salon I have ever dealt with. I scheduled an appt for today, the Monday of Thanksgiving week at 2:30 and took time off work to make the appt!! An hour before my appt I get a text from a random number asking if I can come at 5:30! If thats wasn't unprofessional enough, the hair stylist goes on to lie to me about her current clients appt running over. Running over by 3 hours?! She was clearly trying to fit someone else in at my appt time and totally disrespected me, as a first time customer. I was forced to cancel the appt since she clearly wasnt going to be able to do my hair at the time I was scheduled for!! I had plans immediately after my appt and couldnt afford to cancel those plans because of this late and unprofessional hairstylist. My husband bought me a gift card for Mother's Day,for a cut and color at Dolce Salon with Julia. I called to make an appointment and surprisingly she was able to take me on the next Saturday. The place was so cute, clean and full of life. Friendly girls, nice music and awesome shampoo bowls. For once my head didn't hurt to lay back for a wash. So upset with this salon! I had medium brown hair with highlights and i wanted to add some more to make the overall color lighter. Melissa went ahead and just painted a ton of bleach in my hair, and left my hair ORANGE, FRIED, AND UGLY. I was in tears so I texted her to fix it, I came in and she put MORE bleach on top of the bleach that was in there already. Worst of all my hair was still ORANGE so she put like 3 different toners over it and nothing worked. My hair is so damaged and fried that i cant even brush it whatsoever when its wet without it breaking off. I had my usual stylist fix it. I had asked melissa to refund me since i had to pay someone else. She ended up giving me $30...After it was her fault that she had to use so much bleach and toner to fix her mistake yet i was charged for those products! Also the atmosphere is not friendly whatsoever. This place is a joke. read more

I have a wonderful hairdresser in Solana Beach but have been having troublemanaging my schedule to accommodate her hours so I was on the hunt for something closer to home. I happened across a Groupon for someone who worked in this cute little salon in Carlsbad and hit the jackpot! Dolce Salon is an adorable little shop and Melissa is super cute and a great hairdresser! In fact, I ALMOST didn't write this review because I was worried she would get so busy she wouldn't be able to fit me in next time but I love my hair so much, that I just couldn't resist. I brought in some Pinterest photos and said I wanted to go lower maintenance as far as upkeep went. Let me just say, my hair now looks like the photos I showed her. To top it off, I had just completed a really long stressful day and had driven in crazy traffic to ge there ...40 minutes late... but she worked me into her schedule anyway which included a couple of really fun, down to earth ladies. Julia is so good at what she does!!! She hooked my hair up!!! I had messed up blonde with ugly yellow tones, and just an uneven blonde. Julia is very passionate about what she does. Today was my first hair appointment with Julia. I am always nervous about having my hair done by a different stylist. BUT Julia was great! She made me feel at ease immediately. She patiently listened to my recap of previous hair experiences (some not so good), listened to how I would like my hair cut and then reconfirmed how I wanted my hair to look after the cut. I avoided looking in the mirror until she was done with the cut and dry. BUT OMG I was so excited when I finally got up the courage to peak at the final results in the mirror! I have had my hair cut and colored by Melissa for years and have had nothing short of great service from the start. In the past, I felt like other salons didn't listen to what I actually wanted and they did what they thought would be best, both cut and color wise.
