I've followed Katy around for years to her various salons (and now her own) because she consistently gives me a really really great haircut. She has a great eye for style and knowing what will (or won't) work before she even makes the first cut. She's never pushy about up-selling products (I really hate it when they are) and has always been very accommodating with squeezing me in last minute. Katy also does a really good job of keeping the environment of her shop the perfect balance of fun & professional. While I think most of Katy's clients are probably women, she really does an awesome job cutting guys hair too and I always see she has clients of all ages in there so I'm guessing her clientele is probably generally pretty diverse. After my first haircut by Katy, I knew that I would be a returning customer! No one, I mean no one, has been able to efficiently cut my thick, coarse hair. I have gone to countless salons from small to high end Vidal Sasson and haven't been happy with the results. Typically after a haircut, my hair ends up looking like a triangle, with so much weight still at the bottom and the top completely flattens on my scalp! Not anymore! Katy took off a good 5-6 inches and was able to give me this super cute bob that had the weight evenly distributed. I no longer look like I have mushroom head. All she used was scissors versus other stylists that used all sorts of funky tools in attempt to thin out my hair. Since my hair is thick and heavy, typically stylists will push the keratin treatment. She mentioned it as something she did but never pushed that for me. Katy was also very patient in listening to me when I first sat in that chair. I told her all the issues with my hair and what I hoped to achieved with the cut. She made suggestions and then we began the wash and cut process. After the blow dry, I decided I wanted it a little more taken off the length. She cheerfully said "sure" and helped take more length off. She was very easy to talk to and we chatted about all sorts of topic. The hour appointment flew by. Her salon is also very easy to find. It's tucked in this side street near downtown Danville. The salon is small and cozy. And it doesn't have the typical strong chemical smells of the larger salons. Overall I had a very positive and pleasant experience. Her prices are very competitive. I gladly recommend her in a heartbeat! read more

Katy has been coloring and cutting my hair for the past 2 years. She has consistently done a great job. First of all, she is one of the most down to earth, friendly people you will meet. I have lived in San Francisco and New York City and frequented the most renowned salons. My biggest issue with those sort of places (besides the inflated price tag) was the superficial nature of a lot of the stylists. Katy is a refreshing departure from the pretentious, superficiality that is so common in the beauty business. Second, she does really darn good hair. She listens to you and efficiently executes. She is a particular good colorist. Finally, I am a busy mom of two young kids. Katy understands moms and their "unique" challenges. She was able to take care of me as I was nursing my infant, etc. She understands that moms needs to feel pretty too. By the way, she also cuts kids hair! read more

Katy is amazing!! About five minutes into our first appt I was stricken with food poisoning, and she took care of me, didn't charge me, and sent me home with water and a plastic bag in case I got sick on the way home. I was able to see her a week later and she cut and colored my hair beautifully. I'm very happy with the results and her pricing is very, very fair. I have gotten a ton of compliments on my hair!!
