In for a haircut, came out great. A few weeks later I noticed broken, fuzzy pieces of hair all over my head. I specifically asked Christina not to texturize or thin my hair in any way. Didn't listen. Now stuck with fuzz til it grows out. Very upset. read more

So.... One must try everything, right? That's what I did and wasn't too happy in the end. I am a local in this area and like supporting local businesses. This place has some good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The place is very pretty and everyone in general is nice. I don't mind working with a stylist who is new but I will Not be happy if someone ruins my hair either. I spent almost 2 hrs for a cut-wash-dry and I am just sad with what my hair looks like. I don't want to name anyone I am not a big fan of giving negative reviews but I am definitely not going to recommend this place to someone new. I had considered not writing a negative review, but after three months of still trying to fix a nightmare haircut that Dolce Vita was responsible for, I'm unhappy and feeling like I wanted to share my experience. I will offer some positivity and say that the owner of the salon contacted me and tried to get me in a few days later to see a different stylist when I called to express my concerns initially. I appreciated her fast response and attempt. Our schedules were not syncing up (it was a holiday weekend) and to be honest, I had some serious reservations about going back, even to a different stylist. It would have also been at a time that the original woman who cut my hair was there, and that is just awkward, no matter how much she assured me it wouldn't be. Since she tried hard to work toward a resolution, and did refund my $30.00, I am giving them an "additional" star. One more than I preferred. Back in July, I was leaving for vacation and wanted to get a haircut. Of course, life got crazy and I waited too long to be able to get in with my regular stylist. I decided to give Dolce Vita a try since they were nearby, I wanted to support a local business, and they had a last-minute cancellation. Beautiful environment, great shampoo/scalp massage. The stylist was super nice, and she seemed to understand what I wanted, but I think got a little scissor-happy while chatting. She was supposedly taking 1.5" off. I walked out of there with 4" gone off the back! I'm not including her name because that would just feel jerky. The blow-out at the end made it hard to tell how awful and choppy the layers were. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Some were taken day of, some a day afterward, and one today. I have gone to two high-end salons and spent over $150 trying to get this to even look half way decent so I can stop wearing headbands and barrettes to hide behind. Unfortunately, it's now about six and a half inches shorter, necessary to even it out some, and it still makes me self-conscious. It still looks terrible, and I'm told letting it grow for quite awhile is the only thing I can do, so essentially I am stuck with it. It honestly looks like a toddler hacked at it. First world problem, I know, but I absolutely HATE my hair, worst decision I have ever made going to Dolce Vita. Live and learn. Next time I'll deal with the split ends a few weeks longer until I can see my stylist. read more

Went in for a facial with Meaghan. She did such a great job and I felt like the whole experience 2was such a great value. She was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of the many questions I asked her. She also gave me great recommendations on what I can do on my own to keep my skin healthy. She also recommended some great products, one of which I bought at the salon, to use. Also, the salon was so clean and peaceful, perfect spot for a relaxing spa day! The staff is always friendly as soon and you walk in. You never have to wait very long for your stylist and if you do have to wait it's usually only because they're perfecting the person before you, which makes me believe I will also get the same undivided attention. Maria was attentive and flexible with my needs. She listened and asked a lot of questions to assure I got what I wanted. She was helpful with recommendations and care instructions. She took her time to perfect my brows and I couldn't be happier with the results. This morning I was able walk out the door to work without having to fill in my brows with my brow pencil. I have been going to Maria Smithell (formerly Tecce) to get my hair done for a little over a year now. I alternate between a partial foil and a full foil, and maybe a trim here and there. Maria is the only stylist I know that can get my hair as blonde as blonde will go without it falling out. Recently, I decided to go with a more natural look and she put in some low lights that are an amazing color. I literally show her a color, explain how I want it done and she does it. I have dealt with too many stylists that tell me "no you don't want to do that" or "we can't possibly go that platinum". Maria goes above and beyond to beautify her customers! I am more than excited for her new salon and achieving her goal of owning her own place. I was just there a week or two ago and the salon is modern/sexy and makes you feel good. I went to the salon for the first time last night. I had my balayage re-done, a root touch up cut and wax. The whole experience was more than fantastic. I went in with a picture of what I wanted and showed my stylist (Rebecca). She brought over the owner (Maria) and they discussed a couple options and they kept it real with me about what they thought would look best and what would be achievable. Let me tell you, they hit it out of the park! I was blown away by how friendly, professional and kind everyone was. Walking into dolce vita you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. The employees genuinely look happy to be there which you don't always see at too many places. The salon is absolutely gorgeous, Maria did such a great job with the set up and decorations there. You can see how well all the girls get a long and one of my favorite things is that the girls will have their own client but ask for each other's advice. They are that trust worthy in each other's technique and skill and want to do exactly what the client wants. Cassandra did a high/low light on my hair (which was by far way too grown out) and she made my hair look so well blended together and the color was gorgeous. She also curled my hair for me for I had a wedding to go to that night.
