I've been coming to Ice Cream Jubilee for years. This is a must stop when you're in this area. Ice cream is consistently good and fresh! The only downside is that it's so popular, they sometimes run out of flavors - or even cones. On this visit, I was really hoping for a waffle cone. Came here after dinner at Morini around the corner and tried one of the seasonal flavors. It so delicious and I like how you can pick get two scoops with two different types. Decent ice cream flavors, but the staff lacks communication skills. After waiting for a while for the customer in front of us to finish ordering, which seemingly took forever, it was finally our turn. Even though no one was behind us at first, it seemed like the staff was trying to rush us through our order even though it was our first time there. We had no idea we could sample flavors until we had already ordered and ended up with one that we didn't really care for. Don't get the smoked vanilla cherry sakura! When it came time to pay, we were also charged for a sundae despite only ordering a 3 scoop bowl. I think the confusion came when we asked about sundaes at first. The staff should have assumed we didn't want a sundae when we didn't get any toppings on our bowl. But they also should have asked and clarified what it was we wanted. I stopped by after dinner on a Monday. I tried a few flavors and decided on a scoop of matcha in a cup. It was a decent size and really creamy and refreshing to enjoy as I walked around the area. The overall volume of two scoops of ice cream is equal to one scoop at a typical ice cream place, and I just cannot justify paying that much for so little ice cream. I would've come back every night (I was staying at a hotel nearby) if the portions were bigger or the prices were more reasonable. Interesting ice-cream shop! They were playing a classic, Freak Like Me by Adina Howard, when I first walked in so I was already sold. What deterred me from giving this place a 4-5 star was ordering from the tablet set up. I've never been there before and was rather confused what it was all about. They had a handy menu on the side of the tablet which was cute but I was really missing the employee to customer reaction, especially with this being my first time here. Luckily, I spoke up and an employee helped me! I had the Buttered Toast and Marmalade ice cream which I could of done without. It was alright, tasted more like vanilla ice cream with pieces of orange peels in it. I didn't get that sweet little tartness from Marmalade as one would hope. My friend got the Banana Bourbon Camarillo in which they liked theirs. Overall, it was alright. I will most likely only come back if the ice cream place I typically go to is closed. Be warned though, they do not have the traditional ice cream flavors like vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, etc.. so that was disappointing. The banana bourbon caramel is one of the best flavors of ice cream I've EVER had. I can definitely see how it's a top seller. My favorite is Thai Tea, which is a classic flavor, but also part of the Lunar New Year flavors. I really enjoyed the Lunar New Year flight: Red Bean Almond Cookie, Roasted Barley Tea, Matcha Green Tea, Citrus Sichuan Peppercorn, and Coconut Lychee Lime.
