The first time I came, I paid 15 or 20 dollars because I parked in the wrong garage Maybe I'll change my mind if I can't find a better, more convenient shop!

It's been a while since I've had a proper manicure unprompted. Thanh at Light Street Nail Salon is thorough. She MANICURES my nails like they're going for inspection. At each visit, whenever I think she's finished, she'd hold my hand up and do more checking, nipping, massaging etc etc etc My only concern is my cuticles don't like to be snipped especially during the cold months. They retaliate like SHXT and I'm left with hangnails which is so tempting to cut but then when will the vicious cycle end? I digress The salon is small and tidy the techs and customers mature. It's truly a space where you can unwind, scroll your apps uninterrupted or engage in some small chit chat. I like the space. They're also affordable and don't use gimmicks to hike up their prices. I usually get dip powder for my manicure, but I decided to try the builder gel manicure for the first time. With acrylic nail extensions, the manicure was $70. It was $5 extra to get either the coffin or almond shape. The cat eye nail polish is an extra $15 as well. I also got a classic gel pedicure for $50. My salonist, Bee, finished my pedicure and did a great job in 30 minutes. The builder gel manicure did take about 2 hours and I was there past their closing time. Other than that, Bee did a great job on my mani-pedi. She was really patient and kind. She kept checking in to make sure I was content with the quality of her services. The overall vibe of the salon was clean and welcoming. There is street parking available out front as well. Despite the time it took to get my manicure done, I was content with the results and the service.

I did ask about acrylic overlay for my big toes as they often chip but Vivian I informed me they don't offer that and opted to use a bit of glue on one break I just got. I appreciated how she took her time and the end results were great. The business is clean and very intimate (I was the only person for the 1st 30 minutes of the appointment). I had my first appointment here on September 4th for a full acrylic set with gel polish. I have no…read morecomplaints about this set, and all nails remained in tact with no lifting until my fill. I made an appointment for a fill on Saturday, October 11th because the original set was holding up so well. During this appointment, I had the nail tech make the shape a bit more to my liking and did a simple French tip design. During the appointment, I noticed that (unlike other fills I've gotten), she did not go around the base of the nail to clip any potential lifting-- she just went straight into applying a new layer of acrylic. I'm not the professional, so I didn't think anything of it. The design came out beautiful, and I was again happy with the service. Unfortunately, two days later on Monday, October 13th, half of a nail popped off when I was wiping my hands. The acrylic popped off, but did not cause any damage to my nail underneath. They are closed Tuesdays, so I called on Wednesday to ask when I could come in to have the nail fixed. Ordinarily, when a customer is inconvenienced because of an application error, I would expect the service provider to correct it immediately. Instead, they told me to come in Thursday. I was slightly disappointed, but agreed. On Thursday, October 16th I went in and got the nail fixed. During this appointment, the nail tech noted she filed down too low on my nails and checked the integrity of the rest of the nails. She fixed the broken nail, and I was on my way. Two days later on Saturday, October 18th, I knocked a different nail on the stove. I've been getting acrylic nails for a decade and have jammed my nails much much worse and not caused any damage. This was merely a graze on the top of the stove. On Sunday, October 19th, I realized that this caused a crack in the middle of the nail. With some finesse, I was able to get the tip off without disrupting my natural nail, but this had already caused a complete tear to the middle of my nail bed, so I had to clip my natural nail down. Within a week of getting the fill, I've had two nail breaks and this was not due to any aggressive treatment to my hands. Worse, this second break has gone down to the middle of the nail bed, so I can't get this fixed. This is a luxury service and this shop has add on costs for everything (including for certain shapes). I can't, in good conscience, recommend this shop or its technicians because there are clearly quality assurance issues. The only reason I would return is to get the rest of this set soaked off because it is clearly a hazard. For the price, absolutely unacceptable.

The people are so nice and take the time needed. I have an issue with ingrown nails and they take care of them. The salon is super clean and prices are the standard price. Great place!!!

I came in for a simple manicure not only was I placed with a newer girl that took 2 1/2 hours to do my manicure because she put a hot towel on my hand and it messed up the entire manicure after the hour and a half mark, but I also was charged full price and I am super upset about that. I got home and these 2 1/2 hour nails are still wet an chipoed after drying them and being told that I was good to go when I knew it was still wet so I stayed a little longer, but I was told that we're all set. Unfortunately, the owner was there and I will have to say she did nothing to help. I expected her to at least deduct or give me a fair price.
