I had an eyelash touch-up appointment on Saturday, and by Tuesday, despite not getting them wet, almost all of the lashes had fallen out. I am very disappointed because I had previously visited this salon and worked with Ariah, whose eyelash extensions lasted a long time. Unfortunately, she is no longer there. I'm not sure if the new artist used a different type of glue or eyelashes, but my lashes did not last at all this time. I chose to return to the same salon because of my positive past experience with Ariah. However, this time my lashes didn't last even four days, and I am really unhappy. Regretting so much that I don't live closer to this salon!! I came in last week as I was visiting my mom for a few days and didn't want to drive to my normal salon in Scottsdale but needed a quick fill for an event. I booked the 30 minute slot with Devon and basically said "do what you can" because I was in bad shape. First, I appreciate so much that she was like "no problem, let's see what we can do!" As opposed to being annoyed that we didn't have the full hour. She was so kind and knowledgeable during the appointment - she told me she drives from Tolleson so you folks in Gilbert are L-U-C-K-Y!! After 30 minutes, they didn't look "good", they looked better than most hour fills I get!! It's been about 1.5 weeks and I've had barely any loss, which tells me she definitely has that 8-9 years of experience she told me about! The salon was adorable, trendy, clean and an overall great vibe. Devon talked a few times about the owner, saying she was passionate about the salon and quality - it definitely shows! Unfortunately, I will have to leave a bad review here as well. There is a new lash artist (Alison) that has a different method and uses a lot of tape to protect the bottom lashes. The way she applies the tape irritates my eyes and tear ducts. She adjusted them after I complained, but after... 4-6 bottom lashes were glued to my top lashes and caused severe irritation which has now caused a red eye. I received an email that asked for a review for the business on Vagaro (my first time using that site to leave feedback for any business). The owner didn't apologize and just stuck up for her new lash artist despite her mistake. First of all, I've been going to Doll Face for 2 years at this point - and my normal lash master has never made that error. Ever. The owner felt some type of way because I "didn't call instead", but YOU sent me the Vagaro email to leave feedback. I did what the email asked me to do. What's the problem? Second, they're very money hungry and have always treated me some type of way - despite me coming in regularly and leaving tips (which I stopped doing since they've increased all prices by $5). I would give my favorite lash artist a shoutout, but I know her loyalty sits with Doll Face and my kind words wouldn't even matter to her. I remember in one appointment she mentioned wanting to, "punch all of the super positive people in the face", so I doubt me ranting & raving about how amazing she is wouldn't matter. She know's who she is - she's a great lash artist despite my feelings towards the business owner and her odd December 2021 comments. Her name starts with a D - she books out, but she's dependable. I never thought I would be so obsessed with something such as this but I absolutely am. My goal was to eliminate the use of eyeliner & mascara yet still have the look of it. Needless to say that goal was blown out of the water in achievement . Not only from actually wearing the extensions but how they are applied, the art form of it and Annabelle has mastered that! Each session she takes her time, ensuring I have the exact look I am wanting and I'm leaving totally satisfied. What to expect: If you are new to this or new to this salon you're in awesome hands. Each person is in their own little area (think tanning salon with the door wall missing) that is very clean & comfortable feeling. My first time, Annabelle was phenomenal at discussing what to expect, what I would like, the look I was going for, giving me input and aftercare. During the application you can expect to lay there with your eyes closed and honestly it's so relaxing it's hard not to fall asleep! However, Annabelle is awesome at conversation (if you're a talker like me). They will have to put a strip on your bottom lashes so if you get a little freaked out with stuff near your eyes like that just make sure you tell them. Once completed take those few minutes to look over your eyelashes fully, blink your eyes a few times to test how they feel. If you feel any stinging, poking or you're not satisfied it's important to tell them in that moment. Not only do they ask you but will automatically hand you a mirror after you're done to look them over. If you need more light to see they have one right there so ask away! My lifestyle is extremely active/busy so I take that into consideration when it comes to my lashes. Just make sure you're cleaning the lashes and getting in for those fills! It's important to know (I learned very quickly lol) that these will fall off for sooooo many reasons and the look you start with is not how they stay forever. I love this place so so so much. I moved back to Mesa and was looking for a place to have my lashes done and I definitely picked the right one. I talked to Annie who helped me with setting up and appointment with Ashley who did my lashes. Annie was super nice and offered to give me a 3 week volume fill instead of having to do a full new set as long as a have at least 10 lashes left on each eye. When I got to the salon everyone was super nice and welcoming. The place was super clean and cute and had a very nice atmosphere/ambience. Everyone there wore masks and they provided hand sanitizers as well. I asked Ashley to make my lashes wispy and fluttery and she did just that. I was very amazed by how pretty it turned out! Two days later I noticed my lashes falling out a little bit than normal. I think this was because my eyelids are oily and I didn't have time to clean my eyes before going to the appointment. I contacted Annie and asked if I could go in for a fix up, she listened to my concerns and happily helped me with that process. This salon provides a 3 day period where you can go back and get your lashes fix for free if they were to have a lot of fallouts which is SUPER awesome. During my free fix up, Ashley took her time and did it meticulously making sure every lash was filled even though I only asked for the sparse parts to be filled. They're so full, non-irritating, and gorgeous! My old artists' work was more natural looking, even though they claimed to be full volume. This was my second visit and I am very satisfied and will continue to have my lashes done at Doll Face Lash Studio. My first appointment was less than great. I was unhappy with the length, fullness, feel, and overall look of my lashes. Although my lash tech was very nice, I do not think she was very experienced. I've been getting lash extensions for several years, know what to expect, and have rarely been disappointed. This was one of those times.
