It's such a hit or miss place but I have fun browsing the aisles. Sometimes you find great deals. I avoid the veggies as they seem well past expiration. All the onions I got were bad the same day. Please check expiration when buying here. I've gotten too many things thinking they were good but that's my fault for not checking. I think it's fine for home goods and dry goods if you check dates very carefully and inspect everything, but I wouldn't trust consumables. I brought back moldy drinks (a truly ridiculous amount of mold hidden under the plastic 6-pack cap) and they'd only do an exchange, not a return. I didn't feel great about it, but there was no mold on the replacement, so fine. Got home, opened it, NASTY--expired 2 years ago. The manager personally brought me the replacement and kind of challenged me to inspect it for mold, which distracted me from checking the darn date. I can see this place as a useful resource for people who have the time and energy to inspect everything and are healthy enough to recover if they guess wrong, but I'm too grossed out to go back. At 7:43 pm There was this rmployee about 5 8 tall, black hair hispanic guy assualted me scolding me that Elias works hard and hes working there for many years while I was talking to the supervisor. It was just a simple incident report to the supervisor that Elias pushed me away to the other register since he was close that I politely moved but he catered to the couple right after me. The guy who defended him scolding me that Im raising my voice which I did not . calling me out , lectiring me that I should not complain with person with disability. That employee who defended Elias was rude and condescending. That employee was very unprofessional when I was leaving the store he even yelled at me " enjoy your pepsi" that kind of attitude should be tolerated . read more

The manager has a really nasty attitude and was rude and unhelpful. Why hire a person who obviously hates his job and treats it's patrons like having him do his job is asking too much of him? I've rushed into this place only to pee and then quickly rushed out not very impressed with what I could see on my bee-line towards the exit. On my hubbies recommendation I decided to give this place another chance. I was expecting little and got so much more. The prices are reasonable! The stickers show their price and the price everywhere else for comparison. My hubby is good at remembering and agrees that most items are cheaper. We walked down each isle. The store is clean and the displays are bright and organized. There were unique items and also random items that made for a fun and interesting trip. There were popular brands and new brands. There were good organic options and some international selections. It's surprising how much less we paid than if we were at a grocery store. Each receipt comes with a $5 off $40. Everyone was friendly and kind especially the person at the check out. Full circle to the bathrooms, they were cleanish but smelly. read more

I have met the owners there putting up stock & answering questions. Super nice couple. The staff is helpful & pleasant as well. We have probably saved thousands of dollars over the years. The grass fed meat is about 50% cheaper than Sprouts (another great store). If you find something you like...stock up since it may be gone forever! Always a fun experience. Bags of course cost bring your own to save. Often even open on Holidays too. Store on Mason is super great too. We are regulars at both. Just bought organic lemonade from France bottled for 1/3rd the cost of Whole Foods. Have fun and go save some money! read more

This store is amazing and great for our community. They honestly have the freshest poultry, fruits, and veggies. The price is comparable to Vallarta and many times cheaper. I'm struggling in this economy, so when I find a good business I stick with them. Plus, today they are giving away 100 backpacks, books, and supplies and yesterday they sponsored a free 5K race. I've come to this grocery outlet many times and ,overall, I have been very satisfied. But yesterday when I came, every time I looked at the items that were perishable, I noticed that they had already expired! I did not like that at all as I had been planning to buy fresh items. I ended up walking out of there buying very little, only frozen and canned food. I don't like when I have to check every item to make sure it hasn't expired yet. I was very very disappointed as this was a total turnoff. I don't know if I'll be returning to shop at this Grocery Outlet. read more

This location had Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwiches (the Disneyland edition...not the grocery store line). Price was $0.33 each lol compared to Disneyland at $5 (I think?) Expiration was for December so not too bad. Store is clean, large parking lot, and didn't see any expired items on the shelves (although have seen some just a few days short of expiration). The produce department was pretty small compared to the one I would go to when I lived in San Diego. The prices also in produce weren't particularly good.16 ounces of organic mixed greens for $5....same price as at Ralph's or Von's.The frozen section was really limited as well (did manage to get 100 calorie non Keto version of Enlightened Ice Cream Bars for $2 for a box of 4). Got Schmidt's Toothpaste for $3 so another good find. Reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because some stuff didn't have signs with prices next to it, and they also put coffee creamers (the individually wrapped kind) in the fridge by the regular creamer. You aren't supposed to put the little cups of creamer in the fridge. I mean for $0.99 for a box of 25 or whatever I got of them, I'm fine with but I would have preferred them to have left them out by the coffee instead because now I have to always keep them in the fridge (I like to keep them by my desk at work but cant now). I wouldn't make this your primary grocery store, but if you just want to check it out, I'd recommend. read more

OMG this store is great. Clean, the employees are always helpful and caring. The owners know us and many of the customers! The selections are great! the NOSH sections have so many great items we use. We ALWAYS shop there first and if they don't have something we can go elsewhere. We went to the 2 year anniversary and ribbon cutting today and it was so much fun! Absolute horrendous experience visiting this location. Didn't get the employee's name because she wasn't wearing a name tag. Cashier rings me up, proceeds to throw a bag at me, and only bags up part of my groceries. She then continues on to the next customer while I'm still there with my groceries only partly bagged. I ask, "what about the rest of my stuff?" She says, "I gave you a bag. You expect ME to bag that?" Last time i checked, I am not the one literally employed by this company. I reply, "you want me to bag it?" and she looks behind her (side note: has been doing this the entire conversation probably hoping for validation from a coworker) and she says, "i KNOW you ain't thinking like that." In the end, she ended up not even giving me enough bags for my groceries and was overall the most rude person I've ever been "helped" by. Do better, Grocery Outlet. And if it's of any significance, she was wearing a black shirt and had long pink/nude square shaped acrylic nails. read more

On November 28, I was in the area and visited the Grocery Outlet in Canoga Park ,store #0433 and I was really impressed with the layout, front of the store ,organization ,cleanliness ,tagging, even small items. In fact I did not find even one item without price tag!, not to mention the sanitized washroom! I was also extremely impressed with Angelyn ,she constantly walking around, and while she is walking around and straightening the merchandise, she is also engage with customers and ask them if everything is o.k. She has a very positive attitude .has a sense of awareness with her surroundings and welcome customers with smile .Now if you think I am still rolling! ?I was surprised the you don't have a Customers' Satisfaction Survey.. I am sure as you are aware the survey system is one the basic foundation for the companies ,especially for your organization that ,I think, is fairly new. With this tool, not only do you realize how your associates are doing and as an example ,Angelyn with proper training ,could become one of your leaders.
