We had a great experience with Al. After doing laundry, we noticed the water level in our toilet started rising, so we thought it might be a clog in the sewer line. We opened the sewage cap, saw backflow water, and after trying to snake it ourselves, found out there were tree roots in our sewage pipe. Al arrived in the early morning and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He showed us the camera footage so we could actually see where the problem was, and explained what a spot repair would involve versus replacing the whole sewer line which was unnecessary in our situation. We have had dollar plumbing come to our house for several things during the past years. Unfortunately, this time we really needed their help. Our 60 year old sewage line to the street was so plugged up it needed to be replaced. Al and his crew came out, and were very diligent. First they attempted to snake the line for us, but it was useless. The roots had made a impassable plug. They replaced the line with a trenchless process. The new line they put in cannot be penetrated by roots. They fulfilled all promises with regards to timing and getting everything cleaned up. With all the work they had to do digging 2, 6 foot deep holes, and then filling them in along with everything else. We certainly got our moneys worth. My boyfriend and I noticed a leak coming from the piping when starting the washing machine in the garage. I called Dollar Plumbing Friday afternoon and was advised that a technician would be available to come out the very next day on Saturday between 9-11am. Kitchen sink was backed up and none of the "normal" remedies were working. I followed advice of my fellow Yelpers and called Dollar Plumbing. I left a message and had a return call within 30 minutes (on a Saturday!) and an offer to come out within the hour. I had to run an errand so asked about afternoon and was given a window from 2-3 pm. Al drove up a few minutes early and then came to the door promptly at 2 pm. He assessed the situation, gave me an estimate which I agreed to, and then took care of the clog with his roto machine in an hour's time. My garbage disposal also needs replacement but will wait for another day for that. Dollar has done work for me before and it has been a life-saver, but this time they kind of missed the mark. The rep who came was very nice and courteous. He evaluated the leak I had dug up prior to his arrival. It was cast iron and while we could see one end, we could not see the other. We could not find a shut-off as well. His evaluation was that the pipe could go on for quite a while and that he would pass on the job. The next guy that showed up dug for about a foot and found the other connection, cut and capped the pipe and our water was back on!
