I'm going to up my review. So last time I reserved a full size and they gave me a minivan. So learning from prior experience I called them to confirm my reservation of a minivan for a family vacation. They confirmed on the phone. When I got there they had to pick up from another enterprise. We were going on vacation and so no rush. My daughter really wanted the minivan. Well it came, but the staff was uncomfortable letting us use it (apparently the prior renter dinged it up). So they were extremely apologetic and gave us an upgrade to the suburban instead without additional costs. Like I said. Customer service has been on it lately. read more

I had such an amazing experience with this Enterprise! I got into a minor accident and this was where my insurance company sent me for a car while mine was being repaired. James was the person I worked with the entire time and he was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure to call me with updates when ever I was coming up on a deadline so I wouldn't be over charged. 1. i didn't like doing paperwork standing in the hot sun with an iPad when there was a perfectly acceptable air-conditioned office and the salesman, Matt said This is how we do it now 2. I don't like doing paperwork on an iPad where I can't be reading everything I'm signing and it's hot and too sunny. Personally I do not think this is a convenience I think this is an attempt by Enterprise and other car rental agencies to just rush you through the process. When I asked about paperwork he said we're emailing it to you. And he just looked surprised that I wasn't happy with this. I mean this is an improvement over numerous pages but I'm getting it later? 3 the salesman Matt didn't tell me what he was writing down as far as gas is concerned and I had to ask him straightforwardly. He told me three quarters of a tank. I told him get in the car and look at the gauge straight it's just about a half a tank. That's unacceptable. 4 I told him there was a alert symbol right as you look at the dashboard. It's a disturbing warning sign and it said the vehicle needed maintenance. He casually told me that that means that it didn't get reset when they did the oil change. He did not offer to fix this for me and the service department was busy I had to stare at this every single minute that I was in the car for a full week. Very irritating and stupid because what if there really was something wrong with the car I wouldn't know it because the symbol was on 24/7. What did did successfully do is remind me every minute that I was in the car that I am having a negative experience with Enterprise. What lousy customer service..point and shows that this person was poorly trained. Nobody who ever work for me would ever let a customer leave with a pebble in their shoe 5. After I pick up the car I drove to a gas station because I had to wash the windows there was so many spots on them I couldn't see the mirrors on the left and on the right to drive safely. And unlike years ago, they don't show you how to use any features of the car, I recommend highly that when you rent a car that you check everything make sure it's all working before you drive away 6. I had to return the car to Laguardia Airport and I was having trouble finding it because there's a lot of construction and the location is not clearly marked. I tried to call Enterprise on the phone numerous times all I get is a recording super super irritating I will not be using Enterprise probably in the near future and it is not an improvement over how things used to be believe me read more

My husband and I spent the week in my old home town after being gone for some 20+ years. It was his 2nd visit. We stayed at the Hyatt Hotel and decided to rent a car to tour about town. Hertz didn't have any cars so we called Enterprise in Old Greenwich at 15 Edgewood Avenue. I have not observed this sort of incompetence in many many years. I felt as though I was dealing with my middle school kids playing house. To say they were immature and lacking in savvy is an understatement. Rather than using the 800 number, I called the store directly to make our reservation because I've found that the stores and corporate reservation staff do not effectively communicate about the availability of their inventory. (1) My husband is a disabled US Army VET, and they kept use waiting for over an hour in front of the hotel. When we finally called, we got the following response from someone who sounded like a preschool kid. "Oh, were we suppose to pick you up?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I said, "Hence, the slogan Enterprise, we pick you up. How do you expect use to get to you if you have the car? I also stated, when I order the car, that we needed to be picked up at the Hyatt Hotel." (2) It took an additional 45 minutes to process our rental because the car we ordered had been let go just prior to our arrival. To add insult to injury, Jennifer asked, "Is the address on your drivers lic. also the address on your credit card?" I said, "Yes, of course!" However, I had to stand at the counter while she called in an address verification. (3) We ordered the luxury model with GPS and plenty of leg room for $89/per day. We received a Kia full size with no leg room. But, they insisted they were actually giving us a new car...hurray! I guess we should be grateful to have a Kia with no GPS, only 1/4 tank of gas, soaking wet from the wash, unvacuumed, no leg room, and a 2 hr. wait time. To her credit Jennifer gave us a windshield mounted GPS system. (4) Upon returning, I found that Jennifer had charged us for the GPS and charged to my debit card $610.00 for a $296.93 rental. However, the branch manager removed that charge and credited my account for the $313. (5) I had to wait an additional 40 minutes to get a receipt for my rental reimbursement. None of the individuals could supply me with a receipt. I finally asked if they could take a photo of the screen and text me. This worked so I finally received my receipt. Scam artists The reservations 800 number said i can drop off the keys and the car on sunday night. When i went to pick up the car they told me they didnt do that and would have to charge me until that tuesday after labor day. When i told them the reservationist told me i can do so, they said this was miss information. There was another lady while i was waiting who was fighting with them because they charged her two extra days. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. It will cost you extra. read more

I used to be a fan of this business. They seemed to have good rates, and were very accommodating. However, the true test of customer service is when something goes wrong. First, after making a reservation one day, I called back a day or two later and found out that it wasn't in fact in the system. Second, after my last rental, the agent noticed a small crack in the front bumper. As the bumper had significant wear and tear on it before I rented it, I'm not sure if it was there before they gave me the car. The manager assured me that he would contact me if the company was going to attempt to hold me responsible. He did not. I got a phone call and several letters from Enterprise's "Damage Recovery Unit." One letter included photos. One of those photos showed not just the small crack, but a large hole in the bumper in the same spot. Someone had actually created more damage to bolster the claim! They also claimed that I owed them for loss of service for two days - but used a rate that exceeded what I'd been charged for my weekday rental time (which is more expensive than weekends). So, one failed promise and two lies later, I'm no longer an Enterprise customer. read more

Best service experience ever!!! Marie was the first I spoke to & she was terrific and had Terrell pick me up & he was wonderful. Then I get to office and meet the manager Eric Brown. Thoroughly the most professional and just plain nice guy you ever want to meet when you're going through something like a car accident. I was rear ended while stopped at the red light brought the car to Lexus dealer in Greenwich unfortunately my insurance deals only with Enterprise and because I have rental coverage that was where I had to go it was a terrible experience from the beginning I was told to drop of the car at the dealer and they will bring me to Enterprise which I did when I arrived there the assistant branch manager Jason DeRocco said they don't have any paperwork to process my rental the paperwork was sent to Norwalk office and he does not have anything for me he offered me a huge pick up truck with a smirk or he can have something in several hours, I had my 80 years old mother in law with me and he suggested that we sit there and wait for several hour When I said I am calling the main office his answer was "Go for it" I called and before I even got anyone to resolve my issues he said why are you calling them I told you I am working on it which was a total lie After a while he said he has a car for me which was Mitsubishi Mirage my insurance covers 30/day this was no more than 20/day there was a distinct smell of vomit that they tried to cover with air freshener there was a huge stain on the seat and when I finally got it I noticed the tire pressure light on I brought this to his attention and with out any word he took to the gas station and made as wait another 40 min this whole thing took over 1.5 hours His attitude was contemptuous and very unprofessional I called when I was returning the rental and once again had the unfortunate encounter with Jason I was told to bring the car to them first and they will bring me to Lexus today was a different story and his attitude was once again unprofessional he was rude and sharp with me when I tried to ask what do they want me to do as I was getting two different information His sharp answer was "Either way I am giving you options " I will avoid this outfit at all costs read more

The good: The location is convenient as it's within walking distance of both the ave and the train station. They'll pick you up if you call with enough warning (on the train from the city, somewhere around Rye). The staff is friendly and has generally been willing to work with me on various accommodations. I was able to rent a pickup truck for a day to move things from the city, etc. The mixed: I've had lots of extra charges put on my bill. If you call them right away, you can sometimes get them reversed, but you have to be extremely vigilant. The price my credit card was charged was once 4x the amount I had signed the contract for, even after I returned the car early with no damage. The bad: The parking lot is infinitesimal. I once had to drive a rental car to Stamford to return late at night as the entire Greenwich lot was full and Enterprise corporate refused to extend my reservation for free. I ended up having to take a cab back to Greenwich, and was not refunded for the cab fare. It took close to two extra hours to return the car - and then I was billed a late fee for not returning the car. Had to call the next day to get the fee removed. I'll probably keep renting from them as there's really no other option in town, but beware. read more

I don't appreciate every employee in the place telling me to have a nice day, when they turn around and squeeze every possible extra dollar out of your pocket. I was told I only needed to add a few dollars to the price my collision insurance would paying for the rental. What I wasn't told was that I would be charged for an entire day - no matter what time I picked up or dropped off the car. I wasn't told there was an extra tourism tax per day, nor that I would be paying an extra surcharge + sales tax, out of my pocket. At the end of the day, I paid $52 for a service that was supposed to be supplied by my insurance company. I was conveniently picked up and returned to the automotive garage where my car was being fixed, but otherwise I am not a satisfied customer. I also got a car with a dirty interior. read more

The parking lot is a nightmare. They set me up with a person in training who had no idea what they were talking about and left in the middle to talk with a friend. They gave me a car that was completely empty of windshield washer fluid during peak December winter. After spending the day and evening celebrating the holidays and had to drive to Vermont, we got stuck behind an 18 wheeler with snow and sleet. This is when we realized there was no windshield washer fluid. It was a nightmare and nearly caused an accident. When I explained this to the people in Montpelier they said that they would make sure the representatives in Greenwich called me. They didn't but were happy to charge for 2 days when I only had it for 1. This is not what you would want to see from a company like Enterprise. Very unhappy with Greenwich Enterprise. read more

I was rear ended while stopped at a red light. My insurance carrier deals with Enterprise and set up rental coverage thru them. I ultimately rented a Range Rover thru Enterprise of Greenwich (very professional and hard working young man). Four days later on a Sunday (10:30 AM) the car suddenly stopped in the middle of the Post Road. They seem to sub-contract their Roadside Assistance program. I had to call Greenwich Enterprise to go thru their entire phone chain (as their menus have changed) to be connected to the Roadside Assistance call center and that is when the problems began. They were unable to locate me in their system, they hung up when I could not give them my license plate number (I didn't exit the car until the traffic allowed it). Another call after exiting the car, I had to also give the vehicle registration number ( I did not have my reading glasses so I could not read it), before they would offer any assistance. I guess their systems between Enterprise are not integrated. After a while the (very helpful) Greenwich police officer who was detouring cars around me was able to start the car and followed me home to insure I got there safely. Once that was done, I contacted Roadside again and gave them all the information they required and the address to pick up the car. Several calls from the towing company over the next couple of hours, with them looking in Stamford for my car and then telling me the address Roadside gave them was wrong. They told me to call Enterprise and straighten it out, as they could not take the address from me to get to the car. It had to come from Enterprise. Six hours later (and 7 phone calls thru the phone tree again each time,) they arrived to pick up the car, and swap it out with a 4 door Tundra pickup truck. My wife nor I would feel comfortable driving the vehicle in NYC, so I told him to take it back and asked for a car. He told me to deal with Enterprise. I called Enterprise at Westchester Airport (I was told Enterprise apparently only has open offices at the airports on Sundays) and they told me they were out of cars. Then began the back and forth calls to the airport trying to get a car. To be clear I made 6 calls, had several interactions between Enterprise (Jessica and her manager Emily) when at 11:30 they did have one, but was told the tow company refused to deliver the car, as I turned down the truck before. They told me to call a cab to go to the airport and get it. I had had it and decided to use Uber until I could call my insurance carrier and deal. Wasting 13 hours on one of the few days off I have just soured me on the whole situation. I have figured out that the commercial ("we'll pick you up") only works Mon thru Sat at local offices, not Sundays or at the airports. Today I called my insurance carrier Chubb, who was great as usual, jumped on my issue, taking down my information, apologizing and reimbursing me for all the Ubers I have taken in the last couple of days (best insurance company ever) and immediately arranged for a Hertz rental. Take note Enterprise: How to keep customers by providing incredible service, all done in a 15 minute call. read more
