I will tell you I went shopping at Raley's and never notice a Dollar Tree at the shopping center. I check inside and it is fully stock. Plenty of people love shopping at Dollar Tree. I did not see Alka 65 Alkaline Water in stock but plenty of greeting cards to chose from. I didn't buy anything from this location but I was greeted when I enter the store. I did get ask if I needed help which I did not need. Out of the other Dollar Tree in the Vallejo area I surely will say that the Benicia location have given me great customer service. read more

I've been contemplating leaving this review for a long time but every time I come into the store, the shorter lady that works there is always so rude to me if I wanna get by she won't move out of the way she'll take care of the whole line and come help the cashier but when she sees me she stops helping it's just really weird. Very inconsiderate to be doing very loud drilling in the middle of the day. I should have left my stuff, now my ears and head are in a lot of pain! This has to be the messiest store I've ever seen. Go inside yourself and you will see. Also the line always goes down 1 aisle since they only have 1 worker up front. If you are in a hurry do not come here. Be prepared to wait over 20 minutes. Not sure why they have 4 registers they only use 1 of them. read more

This is by far the worse Dollar Tree I have ever been to. Believe me I've been around to many. I keep trying to give this location a chance in hopes that it will be "better this time ". So today was my 4th time going into this location. The location is so convenient for me. It's located where I do my banking, get groceries, get my dogs food and stop for Starbucks. Every time I go to this location. Things are a mess. They don't have a lot of "regular " items most Dollar Tree stores carry. The clerks are EXTREMELY slow. They have not one ounce of briskness at all. The line is always down the isle. The location is very small but it doesn't mean you should miss out on a nice experience. It's horrible, especially the fact that Benicia has such a great reputation. I expected more. read more

Really enjoyed this dollar tree! Everything was clean and customer service although limited was still very friendly and great! The perfect stop for cheap holiday/party knick knacks. I also like coming here to look at tupperware and kitchen supplies. They have cheap Valentine's day treats and nice arts and crafts supplies for DIY projects. read more

I went into Dollar Tree IN benicia to buy 3 items. I was the only one in line and no one behind me, if you can picture how empty the store. I stood in line for 10 minutes AS THE CLERK CHATTED AWAY W A CUSTOMER and when she was done just walked away and ignored me and followed her customer friend to the front door, continuing to ignore me. Today was the grand opening of the new Dollar Tree store at the Southampton Shopping center off I-780 in Benicia. Nothing to write home about, it's a Dollar Tree store, just shinier and newer. Perhaps most importantly, however, is that it is in a safe, middle-class neighborhood and not some run-down ghetto where people have a hard time coming up with even $1 so you can shop in safety. If you are in the area and need some toiletries or snacks by all means come here! Dollar and 99 cent stores in general sell for cheap by offering smaller sized products and/or products which are off-brands. For example you could buy a box of Kellogg's raisin bran on sale at the nearby Raley's for $2.50. You could find a $1 box of cereal here at Dollar Tree but it would be half the weight of the Raley's item and would NOT have the Kellogg's label (I saw small boxes of Malt-o-Meal cereal on display). If you are looking for staple products like bandages or a hair brush you will probably save money by shopping here. But not always. I love going to Dollar Tree to pick up cleaning supplies and craft items. In the beginning of the summer, I picked up hummingbird feeders for my backyard. Those have been the best investment during the safer at home period. I enjoy watching the flock of hummingbirds zip in and around my yard, chasing each other and chirping away! This review is for the lazy manager "Latisha". As far as the store goes, I'm happy to have one in town and probably stop in only once a month. Last month I was in the parking lot next to a lady SCREAMING on the phone. Super ghetto, super crazy. When I walked into the store, there was a line like I've never seen and I overheard someone say they thought the manager just left the store without anyone knowing and was in her car on the phone. Sure enough, in walks the super crazy lady on the phone and she's the manager. Seriously? I figured everyone has bad days and decided not to write a review. Flash forward to today, I just left. The lady in front of me in line was purchasing a lightbulb but thought it was recalled. She said "Latisha" to verify with the manager. Swear on everything Latisha screamed from the office "You're KILLING ME TODAY (cashiers name), figure it out!!" Both the other customer and I looked shocked. Latisha walked out as slow as possible with AirPods and rolled her eyes twice at the cashier. That poor cashier. After the customer told her there's a ton of those lightbulbs on the shelf, the manager just stood there and then walked out to her car. I don't go to dollar tree for stellar customer service. I go for gift bags, school poster boards and the occasional candy run before the movie theatre. They seriously need to get a new manager. Someone with manners, customer service training and less laziness. I'm sending an e-mail to corporate now. I went there today with my son and my husband and totally ran out of the store in a hurry because of the level rudeness. My 8 year old son was so excited to see all the Halloween stuff, needless to say, he was actually the one shopping. He darted down one of the isles and one of the employees, an older woman, likely a senior, said "don't run in the store, WALK!" She said it in a nasty tone, no please or thank you after my son stopped running. No he shouldn't have been running, but he is not a trouble maker nor is he in-comprehensive. If she would have just asked him nicely not to run, he would have realized and checked himself. That made me really upset/angry that anyone would talk to a kid that way. It took my whole strength to walk out of there without causing a scene, or responding to that employee in the same tone she spoke to my son in. read more

Just okay. It's not that big of a store compared to other Dollar Tree location so their inventory isn't as great but it still has your basic necessities. I come here to get thank you cards and packaging material for cheap. I don't think I would buy other items from here though. Come in here all the time as i live right next to the plaza. I frequently load cash onto my prepaid debit here , id say its the primary purpose of why i even come in. Usually have no issues doing so, tonight the lady at the register questioned if they load cash on said card, i let her know i do it frequently. She proceeded to call another employee up & ask her, as to which the 2nd employee tried saying 'no we dont' (Even though i recognized the lady & she has literally loaded cash onto my card before) I challenged her by again, stating i come in here all the time to do just this to which she said 'oh okay we can try' and about halfway through the transaction she felt the need to rudely comment 'since he knows everything.' smh, really? Was it a matter of you being too lazy to want to load my card or what? i dont see the issue or why you felt the need to be rude but, maybe theres a reason yall have 3 stars read more

Yesterday I went in to shop for Easter while my daughter was in Karate next door. I had my 2 month old with me and I was just using the stroller for storage. Once I was done I saw that the line was way to long and had only 15 minutes until my daughters class was over. So I decided to put everything back and come another time. I was right next door watching my daughter in karate and all of a sudden a worker from the dollar tree comes over and says to me that she had to check my stroller cause they thought I shop lifted. I was so embarrassed since all of the other parents were right there as this worker is looking at me up and down. I will never shop at this dollar tree again I was so embarrassed I've never stole anything in my life and the fact that my daughter goes to karate next-door and they pay $200 a month I think I can afford things at the dollar tree. I will never return and I will make sure to tell family and friends never to go to the store. read more

I wish I could give 3.5 stars instead of 3 or 4. Obviously in some aspects of this store, you get exactly what you pay for - but I have found much use out of what I have purchased here. What I do not like about this store is the employees, some of them come off just so rude and annoyed with their lives. I was especially annoyed when I went in to get a refillable butane lighter and I got immediately questioned about my age. I do look very young, but I'm old enough to buy things and I have my own ID, etc. The lady behind the register would not stop questioning me and looked at my ID like it was fake and joked as the security guard walked over about me. I understand the consequences of a store allowing an underage person to purchase something, especially with a fake ID, but do not question me so loudly in front of other customers and in such a rude way. She was asking me questions like when my birthday was, when did I graduate high school, etc. Didn't know coming into Dollar Tree to buy foam sponges and a lighter came with a 5 minute detective interrogation. Also, why the heck don't we get refunds for returns? I hate exchange-only policies for stores like this. read more

This is the worst store I've been too. It is extremely unorganized. The shelves are messy and there are always piles of boxes everywhere. Take a peek in their storage area and you just see mountains of boxes. This store is like a hoarder's house! read more

Ok it's a Dollar Tree so expectations are low to begin with, but this last visit was a bit too much...lots of hardly full shelves with piles of full boxes blocking many aisles (how about having someone actually put stuff on the shelves so customers can buy them?),,one cashier was open with literally 15 people waiting in line, a couple of workers were in the back room yakking and having fun but not helping..one came out briefly, looked around, and went right back to the safety of that room. Clean and good customer service. Almost too good. I hate when they call the next person in line up for two reasons, 1. I don't like strangers standing that close to me when I'm putting in my ATM code and 2. Sometime the checker and or customer isn't ready and had you stood in line until someone actually left the counter the other checker would have been quicker. So now you're watching the three people behind you walk out the door while you're still standing at the counter waiting for the customer to hurry up with "oh just one more item" which results in another transaction. Today my husband and I went to the dollar store to grab a few Christmas things and to look around . I have never seen so many employees that look so unhappy and act so unprofessional. Many times as we were browsing the isles looking at stuff on the shelves employees would walk right in front of us and not say excuse me or anything . It was like we weren't even there . I did not see one employee smile the whole time we shopped . While we were looking at the christmas section a lady over the intercom called an employee named " letisha" many times to the register . My husband and I heard her say to another employee or to her self " she knows I can't hear over that " loud enough that my husband and I heard it two isles down. If she couldn't hear it why would she say that. She was clearly being lazy . The lady at the register must have called her name about four times over the intercom . Finally, the lady over the intercom told another employee to look for her . I thought that was so unprofessional because clearly she heard her name being called . It looked like she signed some kind of paper so I really hope she's not the manager . Well at least we found some cute christmas stuff . I highly recommend hiring people who actually smile at customers and make sure they are finding everything okay. Oh and everything was very cluttered . I had to move the big rolling shelves that carry the stock by myself because it was blocking all the Christmas ornaments I was trying to look at . Not to mention there was an employee that walked right by me and didn't offer any help getting it out of the way . Rude rude . Great to have a dollar store in town near my normal shopping spot (Raley's). I forgot how many useful things can be had there for a bargain. For the kids it is a great place to pick up little nick nack toys for the summer, party favors, etc. I always like to hit up their tool and cleaning product sections for things you need every once in a while. Don't expect to find Snap-On tools but for that off hand thing you need for a specific job it is great. It is in a nice area but I'll refrain from looking down my nose at people who aren't as fortunate financially.
