My goodness this dollar tree has the most unorganized shelves and displays. The young employees are so rude and lack any customer service. I came in and asked where the birthday candles were and the young man told me a long winded answer with rolling eyes like this "well(big exasperated sigh ‍) idk, but walk down the back aisle and look on the wall to the right if but look on the left and if not there then go try the other aisle and maybe you can find some because idk" ‍ I was shocked but willing and openly walked to the far back aisle and looked in all the areas he had mentioned and still couldn't find them. I ended up grabbing some other quick party supply items and got in line to be checked out. It was the same young man who was ringing everyone up. There was a line and I patiently waited my turn, when I began unloading my items onto the counter top, I gently smiled at him and said "how's your day going" he didn't even look up at me and said "not great, because people keep asking me questions" I was appalled and I just said "oh" and looked at the lady behind me who was up next and she was just as shocked because prior to me getting in line , I overheard her ask him if anyone was available to ring her up and I think the older man in the back was stocking shelves so this young man was the only one up front to ring anybody up. As soon as he went behind the register , he seldomly grunted and whined while ringing folks up. I thought I was just tripping but when I saw the look on her face when he made that comment, it became very clear her and I were thinking the sam thing and both equally alarmed at his lack of customer service or consideration. Now granted I understand, when your young in your early 20s you probably don't wanna be working at a convenience store but at the end of the day it is a job and a consistent one at that. A simple "welcome to dollar tree" upon entry and a considerate wave is not much to ask for in terms of greeting and customer service. But to then be told "not great, because people keep asking me questions" knowing all to well your the only person on the floor that is visible to the eye that is an employee lol well of course any and everyone in need of assistance will ask you some questions lol Work ethic on this new generation lacks eye contact and hospitality. I ONLY come here cuz the 99cent store is gone.. I only come to grab a few things every now and then. Today was that day.. lol This store is dirty, unorganized and workers UNFRIENDLY. The employees are in the corner by the office hanging out, talking , having a good old time. The MANAGER literally keeps saying,"can I go home now ?" Over and over again. There's a line growing and none of them bothered to think hey let's get on the register to help.. Until I see the manager (I should say I think she's the manager) she had no name tag , walkover to one of the guys and say something . The light bulb must of finally turned on and he walked over and open his register... lmao I'm telling you this is what you pay for . I'd prefer to go ANYWHERE ELSE just to avoid this store... This location has a large variety of stuff for parties and holidays. Tons of craft supplies too. The staff is really friendly and helpful too, they store stocked and clean. The one big negative is the location which is directly across the street from A run down hotel that is used by homeless and drug addicts, I've never had an issue with anyone but yesterday a few people stole items and staff kept their cool. I got in line to pay and leave in a hurry! If you're going to shop here just go during the day, take a friend or spouse and park close. Did not feel comfortable with all those people stealing and of course nothing can be done. But great stuff in stock! read more

Hi, Today's review is on the new (well fairly new) Dollar Tree Store in the CVS Drugstore center in La Verne, Ca. Located on the corner of Foothill Blvd and Wheeler Ave. To be frank, although I do frequent these type of "discount or close out" type stores on occasion, I am usually not a huge fan. With this in mind, this particular Dollar Tree store though is a bit of an exception to what I usually expect when I walk into this type of store. To begin with, it is brand new. The store is clean and well lit. The isles are fairly wide and the shelves are well stocked. The employees are friendly and surprisingly available when you need something or just do not want to search all of the isles to see if they are carrying the thing or things you came into the store to buy. All in all, not a bad shopping experience to be had here. In short, this is basically the nicest Dollar Tree I have ever been in! So, I do go in here more than say the 99 cents only store across the street. The selection seems to follow the norm of most stores in the Dollar Tree franchise. They have the usual cheep sundries, inexpensive gift wrappings, dollar makeup and nail polishes and dollar versions of many named brand cleaners and household items. The store is a bit lacking in fresh food and grocery items though. I am not sure if this is because this store is not that big or if that is the direction of Dollar Tree's in general. I would actually like to see a few more of these types of items to choose from though. The kids like to come in for the inexpensive toys and every once in a while you can get a really good deal on pet treats and supplies. So be sure to look for these if you have a Fido at home like we do! By and by I give the Dollar Tree in La Verne 3 stars. Which, I think is actually high praise for stores of this type. It is a very nice store and hopefully the employees will work hard to keep it looking nice and new! If you are in the area, definitely stop in and have a look. Parking has gotten a bit harder since the Crunch Fitness location opened, but it is still worth your time to search for a parking spot to come and a browse around. Have a great day! Jim read more

The Dollar Tree is located between CVS and Crunch Gym. It's similar to any other Dollar Tree. I've been here several times now and the employees are always friendly and helpful. This location has a few grocery items but not as much as the 99 cent store across the street. But, if you need pretty much anything else this store should have it. I bought nail polish remover (only $1, woot!) compared to $2 at CVS next door. Instant savings. read more

I have always been a fan o to buyoingf Dollar Tree and now there is one in my neighborhood!!! This location is in the old Vons building on Wheeler. It is clean and spacious and very well organized. They have many items for summer in stock. Many of the items I saw, were the items I was going to purchase through Oriental trading, so at least that saved me some shipping fees. read more
