I was in the store and they are just straight up rude. There was one cashier with a whole line of people and another one comes out of the back and starts getting mad that people are lined up, not in an aisle when she could easily be helping the other girl. Then she proceeds to be rude when she's checking me out and throw the bag at me. Horrible customer service it's a holiday as well so they should expect a rush. read more

Came in today at 9:50PM, i cracked open a bag of filled cones, then I went to go pay it. Everything smooth, everything fine. Until excuse the rudeness but I don't have his name, a tall bald guy who worked closing shift on 5/3. After I paid with the cashier (don't know his name but super cool guy, has a beard and wears a black hat almost all the time). I left with my 2 brothers to car, as I was about to take off, the bald guy comes out blurting stuff and accusing me of opening things and eating them without paying, and threatening to call the police ? for what for eating and paying my stuff ? point is it's embarrassing from him to come out and say something instead of actually being on the homeless people who crack drinks open and go ahead and steal baskets filled with their snacks, see you tomorrow manager, I hope you guys correct your store associates behavior, and make sure he has access to the cameras I would love to have went in to the surveillance room and reviewed it myself. read more

I stopped in for a few things as it was next to a Grocery Outlet that I was shopping at. I was relieved that it was not located in a congested area/strip mall as the one on Spring St. is. Was able to find what I was looking for. Aisles were uncluttered, store was clean, and shelves were pretty well stocked. Would definitely drive out to this location again. read more

The poor cashier was working his tail off, helping the intensely long line while the two managers just kept walking by, restocking shelves. They kept remarking how they were being so efficient and all I could think was, wouldn't it be more efficient to help the line of people? read more

This store is horrible and management isn't helpful at all. I always spend 50+ dollars at this location and 80% of the items either don't work or it's breaks easily. My last and final visit I purchased 4 bottles of foam hand soap. When I opened 2 bottles and placed them in my kitchen and restroom, when it was time to use them I noticed the foam turn into liquid within seconds before you could touch the water. I never saw anything like this. It's clearly not soap even though the bottles are printed showing it is. I took the bottles back and spoke to the store manager, Vicky and showed her what the soap does and she laughed saying she never saw this happen. I didn't even want a refund. I just wanted to switch the bottles for actual hand soap. She said she could only take back 2 of the bottles because the other 2 were open. Duh....how do you think I found out that it's not soap??? I had to purchase 2 more bottles. This was not fair and false advertisement. I have contacted corporate and will not let this go. Horrible service. Long line reaching to the back refrigerator section with only one register opened. Several people asked the girl at the register about calling for help and no one came. She yelled out to her manage (unprofessional) and the manager yells back behind her closed door she couldn't come at this time. Probably counting tills or something but she should have called the young lady on the phone to get the situation. Meanwhile, there are other workers unboxing items so I'm sure someone could have come up. I and two other people wanted to buy gift cards and were told we'd have to wait till manager was available. All totally unacceptable. Another lady asked about the lines and the girl didn't even acknowledge our frustration. The lady asked if she heard her question and the girl just smiled. Dollar Tree stores have been my go-to for random needs : looking for America themed anything for a work function, except it's halloween and Christmas is just around the corner, so no luck. So instead, I got snacks : full sized bags of PopCorners chips (sounds a lot healthier than a regular bag of chips, lol) and two candy bars. Also Sesame Street themed baby wipes (I'm using these not for human babies - i don't have any - but for my doggies). Total for this impromptu trip with tax: $6.86 (OC also has a lower tax rate so bonus!) Balloons are still a great buy here. The prices are kept surprisingly low - if you are on a super tight budget, you can get by with many choices here: including frozen or canned foods, toiletries (soap, toothpaste, razors), a few sundry items (socks),sample packs of medications, things like alcohol or acetone to remove nail polish, gift bags naturally (a lady in line asked about wine bottle gift bags but they had run out of them). read more

I will never come here again and will strongly suggest family and friends don't either. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. One elderly cashier who was helping a customer blow up balloons. There was a long line of people at the register for a LONG time with no help at all. I noticed the managers office, you know the one with the mirrored windows, and made a comment they were setting in their doing nothing. Minutes after saying that on female employee comes out and walks over to the register we were all standing and grabs her stuff from under the counter and walks out. I made a comment and she gives me the look and then yells out to a guy that was also in the office with her Hmm, telling him he should come out and help. He comes out and opens a second register. During all of this people were putting their stuff down and walking out of the store! I will drive to the seal beach location next time! I sincerely hope they shut this store down and fire the employees, other than the one elderly lady that was taking care of the balloon order. This place is a waste of good space!! read more

Never been treated so poorly at a store before now. Placed an online order and received an email to pickup. Presented my email to the manager, Savat, and she checked in back for about 30 seconds and came back and said they didn't have my order. I was told it may show up in maybe a month if at alll. 1 dolla! Make you holla! Dollar Tree, the 99 Cent Only Store's redheaded stepchild (in my humble opinion), sells merchandise 99 cents and under. After a hearty lunch at Huff's, we made our way here to check out any cool deals. To give credit where credit is due, this location is organized & so unclusterfrick like the ones closest to me. I had no problem browsing the aisles, picking up things such as Louisiana Brand hot sauce & large print word finds. Another plus for this Dollar Tree is the fact it has a refrigerator/freezer section, which not all stores do. Microwave meals, frozen juice concentrates, the smallest ribeye steaks you'll ever see are tempting customers as they walk by. The lines were a little slow, but another cashier opened up to help carry the load. We had our plastics bags of come-uppance in our money-saving mitts in no time. Service was good. The cashiers were polite & friendly enough. Parking is in a private lot at the El Dorado Center, with TJ Maxx as the anchor store. Hey, I can't pass up a deal when I see one. Dollar Tree, while not my favorite dollar store, still has a few hidden gems here & there This location was clean, organized and the service was greatly appreciated. If I'm in the area, probably having a meal at Huff's, then I wouldn't hesitate to make a quick jaunt over to the Dollar Tree for some money-saving fun. read more

Who knew this was still considered Long Beach? Well, after moving EAST of the 605 freeway, I was in desperate need to find all the comforts of the South Bay that I had grown to love. The Dollar Tree is no exception. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! No, it's not like the .99 Cent store with fresh produce, but this place has all the makings of party central. I've planned 2 parties in recent weeks and was able to score all of my paper products and decorations here. I was also able to pick up some really nice platters (that were plastic but matched my crystal bowls) and even some nice cardboard books for my daughter. The candy section is great too! This store IS a little small compared to the one in Harbor City that I used to frequent, but it'll do cuz it's close to home! read more

This incident happened back in May but it rubbed me the wrong way and I felt like I had to post about it here. Note: I am mentioning grocery outlet for context on why we had stuff in our possession prior to entering dollar tree. So I live incredibly close to this dollar tree and walk over here to dollar tree or grocery outlet often to pick up stuff. This trip we were planning on going to the grocery outlet to grab a quick Mother's Day card and then stop at the dollar tree on the way home to pick up a squirt bottle on the way back home. We went to grocery outlet and I grabbed a huge bag of a snack mix, a pop up beach tent and a card and we got a receipt (they do not sell anything like any of these items except the card at the dollar tree). My sister also had a bag of groceries that were placed into a plastic grocery outlet bag with the logo all over it. Then we walked over to the dollar tree to get the squirt bottle we went in for and I walked in holding up what I purchased at the grocery outlet above my head and I had the big round beach tent from the grocery outlet hanging behind my shoulder and the cashier saw us and he greeted us as we walked in! We walked around the store just looking and we found the squirt bottle and took it up to the front of the store but there was a woman at the front returning something or needing more assistance and the cashier had made a super Mario joke and then needed to run to the back of the store to find more staff for extra assistance and the line was getting longer so I told my wife we don't need to squirt bottle right now and we can come back. So she put it down and we proceeded to exit the store. The woman that needed extra assistance that was holding up the line gave us a dirty look as we left and at that second I couldn't figure out why. I didn't realize it until she had sent dollar tree employees chasing us through the parking lot because she thought we were stealing. One of the employees was the one that saw us walk in with our grocery outlet items. None of the items we had except the card were anything the dollar tree even sells. The workers chased out in the parking lot and yelled that we need to pay for our items. They had assumed we were stealing before they even saw us as there were no employees at the front of the store when we left. We informed the worker that we had purchased the items at the grocery outlet and she said oh alright and ran back into the store. I'm glad the situation didn't escalate but it really made me not want to return to the dollar tree. I completely understand needing to keep people from stealing but we were accused by people that were not even employees and we weren't even carrying anything close to what they sell and we had receipts. It was pretty ridiculous to chase us through the parking lot. I feel uncomfortable going into the dollar tree now. read more

Was denied service by store clerk Mary Carmen yesterday. After waiting on a line for abou 5 minutes she called next customer. A man wizzed by me and said oh the line is over there. After he left I told her Ive been waiting here and you never told me. I must be the next customer and proceeded to place my items on the checkstand. She then refused to serve me said I didnt follow " the rules " what rules I said? you never told me, and you saw me. I am older and white and have to wonder if I was an Hispanic grandmother would she have told me where the line was before I waited over 5 minutes,would she have served me. I think yes. She refused to ring me up. She told me she was the manager. Not to big on customer service. No signs saying one line, no communication. I wore a mask, that is the sign that is posted and "the rule".. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH STAFF AT DOLLAR STORE.... on 12//12/19 I had a rude associate by the name of Guadalupe. I saw her walking through the store with a mean look, I thought she was just a customer and didn't pay much attention. But then when I see she was FORCED to open a second register and it made sense with her snarling through the store. I put my stuff up and she growls out DO YOU WANT BAGS for 15 cents?... when did they go to 15c btw? i said yes but i have EBT for them. THE ATTITUDE GOT WORSE.. Judgement at its finest! :( As i got my stuff and put it in the basket I headed to the door, not far from the register mind you, and she yells out---MAAM YOU CANT TAKE THAT CART OUTSIDE!!! No shit. But I had to get away from register and give room for the next poor soul that had to deal with her sad, rude self. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT STORE LOCATION AGAIN. Prices have gone up from $1.00 to $1.25. Okay. I come to this location, no baskets and long lines. Also scam quality cleaning supplies. No deals. I wait in this long line carrying heavy stuff. One register is opened. I'm finally upfront and lane 3 has opened up. This has allowed a lady to get a head of me. I get behind her and the lady who cut her way to lane 3 and the person who was behind me were able to check out before me. I will decrease the amount of times I come to this location. Dollar Tree is seriously the best. Buy foil balloons anywhere else, and it costs an arm and a leg (like $3.99 per balloon). I buy up to 10 foil balloons at a time from the Dollar Tree for any and all occasions and it is only $1 each. This is as good as it gets. I also come to Dollar Tree when I need to buy Christmas/birthday gift bags. Such a good bargain and you get the same quality bags you would buy at Target. Go to the Dollar Tree y'all and get more bang for your buck. read more

Well organized. Nice staff. You can find some deals but in general, it's cheaply made stuff. Best time to shop here is for the holidays, making it cheap to stock up on party supplies & decorations ( Easter, Forth of July, Birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, etc.) Staff is helpful. read more

Dollar Tree seems to me to be a slightly upscale version of the 99 Cent Only Store. I guess that one penny makes all the difference! :-D Aside from the fact that everything in this store costs $1.00 or less, it's a pretty good place to pick up seasonal items, such as Christmas decorations, cookies, candies and other goodies. Unlike the 99 Cent Store, Dollar Tree does not carry any produce. The food section at the back of the store carries mostly frozen meals, ice cream, cold beverages and milk. This store also carries various snack items, candy bars, stationery and office supplies, books, cleaning supplies and many other items that you'd find at this type of store. I'm not sure if all Dollar Tree stores have carpeting, but this location certainly does. Definitely someplace to consider for quick and inexpensive gift ideas. read more

Male workers are nice, but cashier practically yelled at me today because she assumed I'm trying to cut others in line when she just said her line was open and everyone in front of me told me to go ahead into her line. I ended up having to go back to her line again because everyone kept telling to go ahead to her line again and she almost yelled at me again until she finally paid attention ans realized Everyone letting me go next. The cashier had mentioned to the customer behind me how she had been dismissive while she was checking me out. I had noticed it already but I planned on ignoring until she actually had the nerve to strike up conversation with the customer behind me about it. I'm trying to decide if I should boycott or not at this point. Ever since Dollar Trees started getting popular in my county I have been a huge fan! They have pretty much everything. I come here for cleaning supplies, before parties, holidays, school supplies, candies and snacks, board games, quick read books and much more. There are other comparable stores, but I honestly prefer this chain. One thing that I have noticed about Dollar Tree stores is that many of their products have a french title as well as an English title. Im not sure why that is exactly, but I think it is pretty cool. read more
