Large Dollar Tree, with its own dedicated parking lot, and a large selection of products, with the vast majority being $1.25 each. It's well laid out inside, plenty of checkout in case it gets busy, and everything was well stocked (with a lot of employees stocking during the day while people shopped). Like all 'dollar' stores, some of the products (especially the impulse buys) can be a bad deal...just have to watch out for that. But it is our go-to place to stock up on essentials like cotton pads, guest toothbrushes, and even dry food items like spices. Noticed a couple of things I hadn't seen at a Dollar Tree before: Amazon locker for self pick up and Gift Card Center (which requires some technological advancement to work). Good for Dollar Tree!

If you don't eat eggs every day. This is perfect size and price for when baking or cooking

I shop at all Dollar Tree stores and this location is by far my favorite one. It has 10 spacious aisles and more selection than the other stores I usually shop for specific items however you always leave with more than expected. They always carry cute, cool stuff, craft materials and pretty faux florals great for door wreaths Great place for party and holiday decorations, Bingo prizes, crafting and school supplies, if you're RV traveling or just traveling this is your place to find travel size products. You will also find basic office essentials at a better price Some items you can find the same items and brands for 97 cents like Kleenex pocket tissue packs, Bar soap among other small items at Walmart but the Dollar Tree store has lots of favorites items at a lesser price than Costco and Sam's and you don't need to buy so much specially if you don't have the space to stock up or you live in a limited budget

    Obsessed with Renuzit home scents!

I am a fan of 99cent stores cause I hate paying more for basic needs! 5++ all the way! My friend lives down the street from here and the location is strange. This used to be some furniture store. The entrance is on Stearns street, small parking lot. There's steps to go down inside the store. I came here to buy those solid air-fresheners that you strategically place in odd areas of your home so you can smell the scent but don't know where it's coming from. I blame my boss who loves these and goes for the 'Hawaiian Aloha' scent. She always has these laying around her office. Damn you made me homesick for home. So now I'm obsessed with these cause the air freshener sprays are hit or miss. I also recently placed an Amazon prime order for toilet paper and paper towels and Auwe! got someone else's order instead. So now I gotta go back the old fashioned way and go into a store to make it right. Anyways, it's pretty good in here, clean, not too many people shopping on a Sunday afternoon. I also bought some razors, gum, snacks and garlic powder. Receipt shown in pic.

    Large, clean store

It originated from the 100Yen…read morestores that are all over Japan, This location in Long Beach is well run, with fully stocked shelves, ranging from very specific products used for one particular purpose to everyday things that one would constantly have to replenish. Slowly browsing the shelves is like walking through a series of infocommercials...very possible that what you buy was a complete waste of money, but having the risk be minimal since it's only a dollar. When we went to Japan many years ago (before Daiso made it to the US in 2005), 100 yen truly meant a dollar. But the Japanese economy has really struggled compared to the US, to the point where 100 yen is only worth 64 cents now in 2024. Another thing I noticed is how they handle labeling of prices. Both 100yen stores and US dollar stores keep the effort of pricing products low, by selling everything at one even price (i.e. a dollar or 100yen). Of course, with inflation, this is not sustainable...prices need to go up. So rather than having to relabel everything as prices go up, instead Daiso uses the prelabeled price in YEN to represent a CODE..translated to a dollar amount per charts that are found throughout the store. And the vast majority of product has no price...which means that it is the default price of the entire store (which in 2024 is $1.75). Unlike 99cent or dollar stores in the US which sell mostly excess products that you can find in department or grocery stores, much of the products in Daiso are made exclusively for them. Thus, you can find real useful things here, at decent quality. On this visit (which we made only because we saw this store near the place where we had lunch), we ended up getting 2 china soup bowls, loose tea leaf filters, a fat/scum skimmer for soups, a spring loaded glass bottle for Q-tips (or in my case, Glide flossers), and a 10 pack of clasp chip bag clips. And none of them had marked prices, so defaulted to $1.75 each. Even here, they ask if you want a bag, needing to charge you the dime if you answer 'Yes' (that's California). So we always say 'No', and because this time we had not brought reusable bags, used the bowls to contain the knick-knacks back to our car. Would have been a very different story if we had walked, but alas, Brand Daiso is one of those stores that is not within walking distance from our place.

Highly recommend coming to Daiso if you shop at other discount and affordable stores. So many great…read moreitems and knick knack items. This store is a bit smaller than others but all employees are really friendly and helpful. I went to find a basket for my house for clothes and other stationary goods and they had some really cool options to choose from. I always leave with Japanese chips too to take on the road.

I remember this location from back in the day was a movie theatre and then in the most recent years, a LA Fitness. I used to go to the gym here often and so it felt a little nostalgic walking in remembering when the gym got renovated. Now at Last Chance, it's been transformed into more of a giant warehouse of random things. Gone is the fresh paint and shiny gym mirrors and instead it's replaced with tables filled with random stuff. It is more like a giant garage sale and the whole place had a noticeable odor. The overall atmosphere also felt a bit uncomfortable for me personally due to the security presence. This spot wasn't the right fit for me, but for others they may have a different experience.

Review #877 2025-050…read more The Last Chance Store is a discount retailer that sells overstocked, returned, & discontinued merchandise from major retailers in bulk at deep discounts. If you enjoy spending time treasure-hunting to find bargains or the potential for designer/brand names, then this is the place to be. They acquire truckloads of goods from major retailers, including overstock, returns, & discontinued items, which may be opened, missing parts, &/or broken. You buy at your own risk because all sales are final, no exchanges or returns. Due to the ever changing inventory, each week is a unique opportunity to find deals with the best selections on Fridays... home goods, school supplies, electronics, clothing, books, etc. It's first-come, first-serve, & no holds bar in snagging that treasure. There's no rhyme or reason in the organization (it's severely lacking), so what you find one day in the bins may be totally different on the next (week) visit. Closed on Thursdays to restock, the items are supposedly all 1 price based on the shopping day with Friday being the most expensive, & Wednesday as the least expensive because it's the last day from the previous Thursday's inventory. Prices have gone up since opening 3 years ago except for Wednesday; starting at $10 (Saturday), $7, $5, $3, $2, $1 (Wednesday). 2025 Prices: Friday: $12 Saturday: $10 Sunday: $8 Monday: $6 Tuesday: $4 Wednesday: $1 I've been here a couple of times towards the end of the sales, & not everything is sold according to the sale day (e.g. Pokémon trading cards were stocked in the "VIP Section" were priced $10 instead of $1 on Wednesday). Items along the store's perimeter are also priced differently & usually higher than Friday's no matter the day of week. I've purchased some school supplies, hand soap, & other home essentials for $1 & $2. My husband has found name brand protein & granola bars, though I would be wary of edible items since it's unknown how they were stored. Luckily, my Wednesday visits weren't crazy crowded like the early days. Is the hype/hysteria over for bargain hunting? IDK ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There's no customer service on the floor during my visits, other than a cashier by the exit. Can't say she was friendly, just rang up my items & handed me the receipt. I don't recall if there are shopping bags for purchase if you forgot to bring your own. It's not my thing. I may stop by every now & then, but I don't always leave with a purchase. Last Chance Store is aptly named for the treasure-hunting lovers... good luck!
