So far I've been here three times and all the items I've bought were $1 ea. I like how it's inexpensive, everything I buy is practical and useful. I don't like how there is only one cashier working behind the counter. Every time I've gone to check out, that one cashier has his or her hands full. The first time I've gone took a long time was because the cashier needed to break $100 bill. Last week the cashier had to blow up five balloons and today the veteran cashier had to stand back and watch a rookie does her job right. That's why I knock a star off, the wait is always about 10 mins long when it could've been shorter if the manager could lend a hand or hire someone to. PS- today, 11/5 I went to the dollar store again, had to wait for more than 10 mins because there's this lady in front of me that needed to do an exchange. The matter was complicated that involved a manager because she wanted to return the food she bought from the store, but the employee working there before said she can when the rule was no returns on food. Why oh why must there be drama in that store? There's always some sort of drama that follows a long wait. And who gets screw? Me. Fml. read more

This DT is small, cramped and was an absolute mess when I visited a few weeks ago. They were transitioning from Christmas to Valentine's Day display and there was product everywhere in the seasonal section at the front. Every other aisle seemed to be just as disorganized and dirty. This location gets a very steady stream of customers, so the only two employees that I saw were busy at the registers. I grabbed the few items that I needed and did not stick around to browse. On the smaller side for a DTree, with a horrific parking lot. My crossover barely fits in the biggest spot here, and I think she's starting to develop some body image issues from it. I found a majority of the items I came in for. But can someone tell me why they only have one cashier? The line while I was trying to look in one aisle was coming down the aisle and I had people asking if I was in line. Then after wandering the store for a good hour it was another long line. After waiting about 10 minutes another cashier finally appeared. I thought I was at the DMV for a minute. Anyway when u first got there, there were no shopping carts at all. I think there might be about 15? 5 of those had merchandise to be stocked. I waited for someone to check out so I could take there cart after having wandered around looking for one. The set up of the store is cramped, it's almost like being in a hoarders house. While I did find what I came for, I doubt if I would come to this store again unless in the area. I'm not driving 25 minutes when I'm sure there is a closer one to me or I will just go to the bigger one in Sunnyvale. read more

They never updated the website on the store hours. It says M-S opens at 8am. I had to get just ONE ballon for a coworker's birthday on my way to work and I work at 9am. But this store actually opens at 9am. I was there at 8:45am this morning. I was asking the workers there about the opening hour and told him my situation and he just said 'oh its too bad, there isn't anything we can do' I am Very upset because I had to drive all the way there to find out they open late and I was late to work!!! Previous positive reviewers are suspect and are probably planted by corporate to post "good" reviews. Also notice that the business is "unclaimed" - things to look for if the business is legit. I lived in this neighborhood for 17 years and taught exercise classes in this building when it was a health club. This store is unfortunately a major disservice/embarassment to our community. Their staff of elderly women are underpaid with few/no benefits, rude and grumpy. Dollar Tree is a great place to get normal household things for cheap prices. Some of the prices are just unbelievable! For example, they have a stack of DVD's and they're only a dollar each! Talk about savings! But some other items, like erasers and pencils and school supplies are just about a couple cents cheaper, they have a variety of mostly everything you can think of. They are short on pet items though... that is what made my it a 4-star experience. They are big on party items, wrapping and all. They have the season's holiday items too, like right now they're stalking up on Christmas items... Overall it was great! read more

I love dollar tree!! They have everything from office supplies, cleaning products and food.

I am very pleased with the selections at this Dollar Tree. I was able to buy a lot of things I was looking for (kitchen towels, dish soap, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and body wash, just to make a few), and they have few well-known brand names for things like toothpaste and OTC medicine. There are a lot of practical household items here. It's also fun to look around and see what other stuff they have, such as stickers and stationery. read more

Always one cashier despite long lines and the store always seems understaffed and thrashed. But I honestly can't have that high of expectations for a dollar store... I still usually find everything I need there and you can't beat the prices. If you have a short temper this place is not for you. Seems smaller compared to other local Dollartrees, if I recall. I think it was a workout gym membership gym (but I may be wrong) I like going to this one as its neater, not picked through, shelves are little more filled and since its small, you can do some quick shopping. I think Sunday's are best as they are restocking, but be prepared for cardboard boxes opened as staff fills shelves. I guess you just gave to pick your battles. The bad: parking lot needs repaving. It very pot-holed and/or has cracks. Can property management please repave? read more

We found ourselves here by accident and boy has it been a while since I've been in one. We left pretty happy with our few purchases and assuredly, we will be back. Walking in, well it is Halloween time so they have a bunch of fun stuff. The costume things were fun and we even saw some cool ninja stuff! It was super fun to browse all the holiday stuff. Going further into the store, everything is nicely organized and there is a ton of stuff. I picked up some cheap pencils and erasers for my students (I'm happy). I will definitely come back when I need a refill. We also got some Kleenex (for our cold) - so good times. Overall, there is a ton of stuff here. Everything is nicely laid, orderly and neat. I love this store which is so conveniently located to my house! They carry all the basics/essential and also have a nice section for party supplies. I also love the greeting cards you get here. You can get the same kinds of cards here that you get for ~$4 at Walmart. I had recently gone in to buy a mylar balloon (which are really cute and amazingly only $1) and as soon as I stepped outside, it somehow slipped away from my hand and flew away. I went inside and told them and they replaced it for free. I thought that was nice of them :) I recommend this place! read more

Left without the item I was there to buy: a bottle opener. None, they don't carry none of those. Neither many of the cosmetic products I usually buy at the 99 cent stores or similar. Therefore, I doubt I will go back as I went there because of the good reviews. Still in this kind of place you can always get tons of other things, but I have seen many other Dollar Tree stores carrying many more things and a little bit better organized. read more

The parking is pretty bad, especially if it's weekend or lunch hour. I come because it's near my house but it wouldn't be my first choice otherwise. usually a long line up and the guy talks a lot, I mean he's nice and all but jeez just do your job and ring us through when there's a line up of 10 people waiting! Everything is a dollar. Do you really need to know more? I don't think so. Stop here first before you do any other shopping, you might not find everything every time you shop, no one is perfect, but every time I come here i walk out with a bag or two full of great deals. Sure, the store is not exciting, checkout is a little slow, the selection can be a little odd and some items are flimsy but there really are great deals if you actually are a good shopper. Dollar Tree - Front entrance - Discount Store Near Me - Mountain View, California

This is a good place to go for passable quality bargain items, but beware, it is not a place to go to get rid of your pocket change. One time, I owed $5.08, so I laid out a $20 bill and eight pennies, thinking that would make it easier for both of us. Instead of getting $15 back, the cashier starts fishing out a $10, four $1's and 99 cents in change, claiming that I gave her $20.07. I do not know whether I miscounted the pennies or she did, but I would think the cashier would be intelligent enough to say something like, "I think you need another penny," before going to the trouble to fish out all that change. Another time I owed $3.37 and gave a $5 bill. Seconds later, just as she was about to fish out the change, I realized I had 37 cents handy and put it on the counter. The cashier did not seem to be able to handle this. So, at this particular Dollar Tree, I expect to leave with more change in my pocket than I came in with. read more

Oh my goodness. I know there shouldn't be, but there IS somewhat of a stigma to dollar stores right? You kind of get an awkward feeling like when you go to Walmart... there must be something wrong to have such low prices right? But anyway, Dollar Tree is a go-to for cheap and affordable school supplies. I recently went to this location to pick up plates for my Baking class to decorate and personalize (if you don't know, draw on them with sharpies and bake in the oven and voila! Personalized plates), and the ordeal turned into so much more than buying 10 plates. From the moment I walked in, I got the vibe that the employees were miserable and couldn't wait to get out of there. One girl looked especially kill-me-now. Anyway, I got my plates without a problem and was actually pleasantly surprised by how much is in this store - I'd actually recommend this place for cheap party supplies as their selection is pretty nice. But, once I got to the checkout, I was greeted by same miserable girl as mentioned earlier, and the register jammed so my receipt didn't print out. I know, I know, everything was only $1 but just in case I needed to return/exchange something, I wanted my receipt. Better safe than sorry. Well, in this case, I ended up being both safe AND sorry. It took 3 people and 25 minutes to print out another copy of the receipt. I don't know what was so difficult about it, but they were unable to do it from the actual register, and had to go into the back office to figure this out -- then they had to come back out, log the girl out of the register, go back and try again. I mean, really? Either they are really slow or the program they're using sucks. Whatever it is, they need to reevaluate their system. Anyway, my experience was a 1 star, but I'm giving 2 just because the store itself is not bad and a good resource for cheap things. But, prepare yourself for an equally cheap service experience. read more

This location is understaffed. Wait in line is far too long. They need a second person working the registers at all times. I walked out last two times I came in with out making my purchase. I've been in dollar tree's before that were far busier with shorter lines than here. read more

Honestly, the staff and store manager in particular is incredibly helpful. I always shop here for supplies for our Boys and Girls Club program and I've lost my receipt a few times (for some reason it's only happened twice and for this place). Both times, the manager was willing to help me and take 15-30 minutes of their time to do so. Additionally the store is very well kept, clean and organized, and its always so fun to see how many goodie things I can get for the program for so little money.
