Long line and only one register open. And several employees walking around with their hands in their pockets.

Not only are the lines (over the holidays) long with just one person manning the register, I waited 20 min in that long line for a happy birthday balloon, only to find out there was no helium. That's fine, but there was also no sign to let me (and other customers) know there was NO HELIUM AVAILABLE to avoid having customers wait in long lines for nothing. This all amounts to just plain poor management, regardless of the nature of the business.

We just moved to Mountain View and made our 3rd trip to The Dollar Tree this evening. What a complete 180 degrees from the Dollar Tree in San Jose! This store is clean and organized but the biggest difference are the employees! Diane helped us for the second time in a row. She is so sweet and helpful! We bought a ton of stuff including dishes. She wrapped everything for us one by one while chatting about Thanksgiving and her family. We also needed extra bags from our prior trip to Walmart (who ran out) and she accommodated us happily! A far cry from the obnoxious and unpleasant crew over in San Jose.

I went to this location because it was on the way home. It's smaller then any other locations I been too. I aisles are small and the lines for the check out are so cramped.

Drano knock off. And it works!!

Got a lb of baking soda for 69 cents, and a pack of 2-lb white cane sugar for a dollar! No line when I go there after work on a weekday, plenty of parking.

Slow Cashiers, long lines, Manager with Attitude- "Silvia" (wearing no name-tag) has many snide remarks towards customers at the register regarding their item choices and more. Ask for help finding items in the store and you'll receive a response "We may have it somewhere, you'll have to look". Expect the worst and double that before arriving. Hospitality is non-existent at this location.

My girlfriend talks about this store the way my friends talk about their gym grind. Constantly. So…read moreI finally went, mostly to kill time while she shopped. Annoyingly, she was right. It's a discount spot but everything's sorted into actual sections -- clothing, appliances, household stuff, food -- so it's not the dig-through-a-bin situation I expected. Then I turned a corner and found the exact silver watch I'd been eyeing online for weeks and had talked myself out of buying like a responsible adult. Here, the price made being responsible irrelevant. So now I own it. Walked out with that, some work clothes, and a couple of household things we apparently needed. Prices were low enough I stopped doing the math and just grabbed stuff. Staff was helpful even though it was busy. Came to kill time. Left with the watch I told myself I didn't need. Worth a look if you like brand-name things without the brand-name price.

IMHO Interesting…read moreplace. Finally got a chance to check it out after reading about it. I'd read that it is really cramped and unorganized. I found that there was enough room to move about and aisles were clear. Yes, product is stacked high but not dangerous to navigate. There was one gentleman working, and we said hello. He said if we had any questions, to just ask. We had no idea what to expect or what we were looking for. You really have to take the time to slowly walk around and look high and low. I suppose you can find great bargains if you know your prices and are willing to spend some time there. They had tons of bedding, kitchen appliances, light bulbs and fixtures, huge rugs, weighted blankets, shoes, Water Piks, name brand luggage, and a ton of clothing on racks and some piled to be picked through, plus a bunch of other stuff. I even found some packages of pepperoni, but they were just thrown on a shelf. I guess they're shelf stable... All of these items are close-outs or returned to Costco, or just out-of-season (like the Christmas trees and wrapping paper I found.) If you like going on a treasure hunt, this is your place! I'm sure I'll go back, one day...

I haven't seen designer shoes at this location for years now. It's unfortunate because that was one of my favorite aspects of shopping here. Now the only "designer" items, if you can call it that, they carry, are Kate Spade and Dooney and Bourke bags (which are hilariously kept locked in a glass case). I've seen the random higher end like Tiffany's keychain and Valentino sunglasses. But you're hard pressed to find any high-end designer items at this location. They do have a fabulous home section, though. Pillows and towels and decorative knickknacks at this location. And they actually do carry some great decorative furniture pieces too. I get some great deals on clothing for my six-year-old daughter. If she needs new clothes, this is my first stop before Target. I would say for the most part, the store is kept as organized as it can be considering how much product they have to put out in the space they have. The fitting rooms could be cleaner. There's always balls of dust on the floors in the fitting rooms. They could stand to run a vacuum through there every morning. I have always found the staff to be pleasant. The only annoying thing is when you are checking out they consistently ask if you want to get the Marshalls/TJ Maxx credit card. And they think they are enticing you with 10% off your purchase if you join. But if you actually do your homework, you'll see that the interest on their company's credit card is outrageous - making that 10% off irrelevant. Don't fall for it unless you plan on paying off your purchase immediately. Otherwise getting their credit card is kind of a trap.

They have a huge parking lot out front that is shared with other businesses in that strip mall. They also offer several handicap parking spots. Right when you walk in they had a clearance section where I found a Velvet Caviar phone accessories set for $16. That's quite a deal. Normally they are $99. I found a couple of cute St. Patrick's Day decorated plush cats. I got one for myself and one for my BFF. There selection of St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day and Easter decor and gifts is exceptional. They had a lovely selection of wrapping paper. I found a roll that had strawberries all over it. I had to get one of those. The checkout line was not bad. They had plenty of employees at the checkout which made the line move fast. Everything in the store is displayed so nice and is very organized. I definitely recommend shopping here.

It's probably the best bet to get a gift that is cute and unique but you want it to lean more towards being western and not too kawaii and anime. Think of gifting a punny keychain or cute Jellycat versus a Chiikawa plushie or anime acrylic if that makes sense. Meaning that it's probably easier and maybe more acceptable to get a slightly more normie a gift here than it is elsewhere. As you can see, I'm learning what it's like to touch grass and re-integrate into human society. There's a good number of plushies, Jellycat and unique ones like a pink fairy armadillo mole one, tote bags and socks, nice range of jewelry, lots of California themed goods if you're looking for souvenirs that aren't mega generic, and they have a lot of other items as well. As with the quality and high regard some of these items have (Jellycats are NOT cheap), it can be a bit pricier, so make sure that you shop around and check prices elsewhere and that you actually truly care about the person you're getting stuff for and it's not a forced obligation one (family member you're ugh with or coworker Secret Santa that you barely know). Maybe a couple cute things I had my eye on, but it wasn't really for me (speaks volumes about me), but I can see how a store like this works in a pinch if you're gift shopping.

I was actually there this day as well!! 2/28 was a very warm day and I thought I'd be cooled off in a retail store + I really needed to look for some vacation clothes.. Unfortunately the AC WAS BROKEN! I chose to power through it because of course I started finding cute clothes! I decided to try on some tops and omg, big mistake, reeked of body odor. I tried on my items and headed straight to the register. Poor staff working there 6-8 hours+ in that condition if I was there for less than a hour and felt like passing out I can only imagine how they feel and some had mask on even worse. This place really needs to be shut down, staff should be compensated and AC needs to be fixed ASAP! I remember I went there last year, around August and it was SO HOT but they had a few huge fans and you would assume it would be fixed by now.

I had a really uncomfortable experience at this location. While I was there, I witnessed the general manager loudly yelling at an older employee who appeared frail and may not have been fully fluent in English. It was upsetting to watch and felt completely inappropriate, especially in a public setting. No employee deserves to be treated that way, regardless of the situation. There are professional and respectful ways to communicate concerns, and this was not one of them. It created an unpleasant environment for both staff and customers. I hope management takes this seriously and works on fostering a more respectful and supportive workplace.
