Beware! Woah! So upsetting to see the last review regarding a manager yelling at an elderly employee. I was actually there this day as well!! 2/28 was a very warm day and I thought I'd be cooled off in a retail store + I really needed to look for some vacation clothes.. Unfortunately the AC WAS BROKEN! I chose to power through it because of course I started finding cute clothes! I decided to try on some tops and omg, big mistake, reeked of body odor. I tried on my items and headed straight to the register. Poor staff working there 6-8 hours+ in that condition if I was there for less than a hour and felt like passing out I can only imagine how they feel and some had mask on even worse. This place really needs to be shut down, staff should be compensated and AC needs to be fixed ASAP! I remember I went there last year, around August and it was SO HOT but they had a few huge fans and you would assume it would be fixed by now. read more

2/28/26 @ 1:00 PM (SATURDAY) I am writing in regards to concerns about the GM at this store. I have also submitted a written and phone call report to upper management. I had a really uncomfortable experience at this location. While I was there, I witnessed the general manager loudly yelling at an older employee who appeared frail and may not have been fully fluent in English. It was upsetting to watch and felt completely inappropriate, especially in a public setting. No employee deserves to be treated that way, regardless of the situation. There are professional and respectful ways to communicate concerns, and this was not one of them. It created an unpleasant environment for both staff and customers. I hope management takes this seriously and works on fostering a more respectful and supportive workplace. read more

I had a very disappointing and discriminatory experience at this Ross location. After going to several stores searching for the perfect handbag for a special occasion, I finally found one here. I purchased it, but within minutes decided to return it. When my mother and I entered the store, we were not greeted, and I immediately noticed the loss prevention employee (Eddie) staring at me the entire time with a harsh expression, never once smiling. I was only near the front of the store since I was looking at purses, yet he never took his eyes off me. After about three minutes, I found the bag and got in line. During checkout, I observed multiple customers leaving without being asked to show a receipt. However, when I walked out--while holding the door open for my mother--Eddie stopped me and demanded to see my receipt. When I politely mentioned that others were not being asked, he responded rudely and aggressively, saying, "Don't worry about other people." The customers before me were not of African descent, which made this interaction feel racially motivated. I returned to the store and spoke with the supervisor, Amina, who was apologetic and said she would inform the manager. While I appreciated her professionalism, I ultimately decided to return the purse. I could not justify spending my hard-earned money at a store that tolerates this kind of treatment. Like any other Ross, it's a hit or miss when looking for something. People don't have respect for the store because some the aisles are very messy like the woman shoes. Some of the workers can be rude. The line is always long because they only have two line. One for check out and one for returns. Which makes the line long. read more

I was in the area last weekend and stopped by to check out Ross because I usually like looking at what they have available and have never been to this location. I did not like how all the employees followed me around and did not talk to me at all. I was looking through the clothes aisles and one of the employees stood right behind me while I was shopping! I'd go to another aisle and the same employee followed me and that was frustrating. It makes me uncomfortable when I am just going about my business and browsing. Not everyone is out to steal- being a paying customer. I found a big cat bed to buy and tried on some clothes too. I did purchase items but I really dislike going to a store where employees follow you and stare at you and especially don't even talk to you or acknowledge you or say Hi, or not even try to be friendly. I have been to this Ross twice. They have too much security and feels like there's a lot of theft happening. Sometimes the stuff is all over the place in wrong sections, but who can you blame, I feel that employees can only do so much I have seen customers grab and put things anywhere and everywhere. The staff is super nice, they greet you, smile at you, politely tell you to keep stiff back on the hangers instead of throwing them away. I got two a new shorts and love them! read more

I shop many Ross stores but This location is just so rude with the service. My dad is 84 years old and my mom is 70 years old. My parents want to use the restroom, I ask them, could my dad can use? They said no, ok fine I do understand but for kindness please. So I walk them out to using the restroom at Sprouts. And big problem at the cashier with Cecilia, she is the rudest person that I have met in my life. the line was so long like 30-45 mins waiting to pay so my dad can't stand too long, he just sitting outside and my mom still shopping. When our turn I recognized today is Tuesday, it's senior discount so I called my dad to show up. And Cecilia asks for his ID, I said he just visiting don't have the ID. And I ask how about passport? I show her His passport , she not even look anything. And she said if I want to pay card so has to be under his name. So I do understand about policy and respect. But her attitude was so RUDE. I ask her what year is my dad birthday? She keep saying it's policy and i said yes I understand.. but if u check u have to see ? The store manager, Martha, was so rude and disrespectful and does not have the customer service skills required to be a manager. I was trying to return a purse that I decided not to keep after all because it was too big/heavy. I had the receipt, the price tag, and was returning it before the 30 day window. She said she would not accept the return because the price tag was detached and the filler paper that goes inside the purse was missing, and she said it looked to be used. I told her I removed the paper to put the things that I normally keep inside my purse just to get a feel of how heavy it would be. I did not know and was not told at the time of purchase that the filler paper is required with a return. I explained to her that I did not use the purse at all, and she refused to accept that. I am not a liar, and would never try to return an item that I have used. I was so shocked by her attitude. I asked for her name and she said it was Martha, and then I asked for her last name and she told me "that's all you need to know". I asked for her manager's name and she refused and said to call the number on the receipt. I'm hoping Ross will re-evaluate this rude person and either fire her or give her extensive training on how to treat customers. She does not belong in this type of position, as you do not treat paying customers the way she treated me. read more

Very very disappointed, this has been my regular Ross store for 20 years and today and I finally will give up coming here. My last 5 visits had been horrible!! Very bad customer service, the store is a mess, dirty floors *not air conditioning *(I couldn't even breath cus the mask )not organize at all, rude MANAGER tall guy rude employees especially (alisa, Eliezer, Elsa do not remember her name but she was very unprofessional as well, she was screaming at the other cashiers in front of all the costumers and also ignoring me when I was asking a simple cuestión. Apparently they had the wrong judgements and even did more "harmful" to the item by pulling off the original tag they thought not "genuine", and then they rejected returning that item. I've shopped at many different Ross stores in the past. This store has the most RACIST & Rude workers I've ever dealt with. I had 3 items with tags and my receipt. They did not honor my exchange. They told me to go back to the original Store where I purchased the items from which was over 60 miles away. The items I purchased were purchased only two days before the day I was trying to return. I was dealing with Cecilia the assistant manager who called Shalonda the store manager to get approval for the return/exchange but that was denied. When I asked for their names and for the DM's name and phone number they refused they said I could call the customer service to complain if I wished to do so. I insisted to get at least a first name the DM was by first name Jacquie. I left a voicemail and have not heard back. They also suggested that I try another different Ross to try to return my items because according to Cecilia the assistant manager each Ross has different policies and they do not communicate with their other sister stores. Which I found to be a complete BS lies! I am beyond upset. To make things worse there was a gentleman that was requesting a refund for a pair of shoes with absolutely no Store tags or any signs that the shoes were brand new. He only presented his receipt. To my Surprise they honored the exchange with no problem the cashier even added a price sticker On the shoes that were being returned. I do not recommend you shop at this store. This was one of my favorite ross stores until last week. A customer wanted clarification on a transaction that was made. After the customer asked another spanish speaking customer for clarification on the return she made, the cashier decided to laugh about her with an another customer and openly say "maybe she should learn english". As a english language learner myself, I was extremly offended and displeased at this cashier's way of handling this situation. I understand that a language barrier prevented the customer from clarification, but the fact that this employee thought it was ok to make fun of her and make racial comments about her not knowing english is very disheartening. My wife and a 6 month old baby were there and wanted to use the bathroom and she was told " there was no bathroom" is that legal to have an establishment with no restroom . Solid 3 stars. Had a goal to go in quickly and get out. Needed a jacket for hubby, toy for the furbies and some chew treats, and lotion. Totally accomplished today. For the short time I had to look around and interact with the staff, it was OK. One of the staff kept bumping in to me while she replenished one of the racks. Geez, lady. This is an overdue review from last week. This is specifically about the tall man or manager/employee who was on the floor last week on Saturday wearing a crisp white shirt, dress slacks. Tall man w dark gelled hair. Seemed to act quite official so perhaps a manager. He came up about 2 feet next to me and said within earshot "I don't understand why people don't hang stuff back up." He was referring to a sweater that was taken off the hanger and was just sitting on top of the hanged tops rather than being hung so clearly it has been removed from a hanger and not re-hung by a patron. I turned him and said "yeah I don't know why either." i said this to see what he would say next and he didn't make eye contact or say anything. I do not know if he was passive aggressively saying this to me or what. I observed him walking thru out the store and frantically trying to pick stuff up and re-hang things that weren't hung properly. He was doing his job but I think he needs a reality check. I don't appreciate his comment. I'm sure it must be very frustrating to pick up and re-hang stuff but get this- YOU WORK IN RETAIL. THIS IS PART OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION!!! Don't make your patrons/customers feel that they are not welcome. This is exceedingly unprofessional, rude and very off putting. I'm not expecting the same customer service as a luxury goods store from Ross. I am expecting some basic decency and no passive aggressive comments. Welcome us. There is a pandemic going on. We are still in your store, trying to support you and have some sense of slight normalcy when we are in your store. Understand that. Put your employees in check. Welcome your patrons and customers. HORRIBLE!!!! This was my first time in this store. I came in with my family, my 2 year old son and six month old daughter. I had a stroller with me as it is easier for me instead of getting a shopping cart. The moment I came in, I felt like I was being watched by the Loss Prevention employees. As I was making my way through the aisles, putting hangers on the stroller I kept looking back only to see a woman with a Loss Prevention uniform walking in the same aisles, following me around all of them. I looked back again and saw her peeking her head out through the clothing rack adjacent to where I was, she was watching me to see everything I was placing to purchase in my stroller. I then felt so disrespected, violated and uncomfortable so I went to purchase what I had. I didn't even continue to shop due to how much I was being watched and followed. I was in the line and that same Loss Prevention employee was behind me and another was watching me by the door, they kept talking on the walkie talkie saying, "she's in the line now." After purchasing my items, I spoke to the Assistant Store manager and let her know my concerns and how violated I felt. I am a customer and I don't appreciate being racially profiled as a shoplifter just because I had a stroller. I asked the assistant store manager, "is it because I'm Hispanic and you think I'm not going to purchase anything, you don't think I have money?" She just started at me but didn't say anything. The ASM didn't really do much except to say that she will talk to her associate.This was the worst experience I have ever had and I've never felt so panicked in a store due to Loss Prevention until today. My mom and I came in to pick up some laundry baskets, we love Ross so we were very disappointed with our service. We are frequent shoppers at Ross. Assoc: 784549 on register 4 helped us. One of our laundry baskets was missing a price tag, and she looked at us and said "there isn't a price tag, you need another one for me to scan" so we kindly asked if we she could call an associate to price check this item for us (which they always are willing to do) but instead she looked at us and said "No." and continued to stare at us. Mind you, there was a group of workers at the front doing nothing. She wasn't wearing a name tag but i would've mentioned her name on this review if i could. She had black shoulder length hair and glasses. VERY disappointed! And will NOT be back Update: they are not enforcing social distancing regulations! the cashiers and customers are super close, when i was getting rang up i was directly behind someone else. they are under new management so the staff is nicer... but social distancing protocols are not being taken seriously.. cmon people read more

I stopped in this Ross at 10:30 at night to buy a robe for our daycare provider during the holiday season. Even with lesser customers at that time, they still failed to notice that they left the security tag on the item. I returned the next day to a different location with the receipt to have the tag removed, but as I said, it was the holiday season, so I waited approximately 20 minutes in line to have the tag remove and ended up shopping for a few other items (conspiracy- this is how they got me back in the door, LOL!). While in checkout, the chocolates were calling my name, and I figured with all the hassle to come back, I owed myself some Ghirardelli for my pain and suffering. No sooner did I get to the car, that I realized the chocolates were marked as expiring in a week, BUT they were already white and crumbly (these were dark chocolates, mind you). I had to return to the initial store that left the tag on to try and switch the old chocolates, but "our system is down", so they did not attend to me to quickly amend a $3.49 issue. Best believe I will take to another store....now I REALLY deserve the sweets for all my pain and suffering. Update: Here exactly 1 day later. System is up and running. Price has been marked down on the same item, so without a receipt, their suggestion is that I pay $1 more to cover now discounted price. Pay MORE for their mistake! I think where Ross falls short is in the pleasant shopping experience department. Things are tossed around, its got the thrift store vibe and security at the front door gives you cold stares like your a criminal. I think it would be much nicer if they had a greeter by the front door like Walmart. Maybe somebody with a pleasant voice and smile. They can check receipts and the security can wander around or be undercover or whatever. One redeeming factor is they do have a nice assortment of chocolates here: Milka, Ghirardelli and Godiva. Nice impulse purchases as all the rest of it was easy to pass on. read more

Ive lived across the bay area to San Diego and this is by far the worst ross I have been to. The staff is rude, they act like they don't hear you when asking a question, it smells in the store & as far as shopping with your kids just go somewhere else. The bathroom has been "out of order" for the longest. You are better off taking your money somewhere else. read more

She asked him "are you chinese?" In which he replies yes and then she proceeded to ask him to go to another line to pay for his items. They have a very limited selection of clothing and the way it is organized makes it difficult to find what you're looking for, if you're looking for something specific. The prices are decent and the store's not terribly dirty. I only went here for clothes, but was not able to find anything suitable. I think the options are greater if you are a larger size, but as a size S/M/6, I felt there was slightly less to choose from. I would give 2.5 stars, but you can't give half stars.. my experience shopping here was mildly disappointing but not actually bad. read more

What a mess! Not only do they not keep the store clean, they have the worst service of any store I've been to. I came in to pick up something for the guest bathroom and so regretted getting in that never ending line. There must have been at least 30 people in the line and only two cashiers open. One would think that during the holiday season (early evening) when people are leaving work and go shopping before going home, they would at least have more registers open. Then to make things even better, one of the cashiers decides to close and clean up her area. The manager is busy showing some guy ladies watches (men should never buy a watch for a lady) and doesn't think there's a problem with the line reaching the back of the store. I couldn't help it so I walked up to her and asked what she thinks of the long line. She looked at me like a kid who forgot to do her homework. After I got cheers from all that were in the line, she opened two more registers and called few of the girls from the back. Why did it even have to get to that? This place is run my people that don't know what customer service is. Glad I discovered Marshall's on Grant and will be shopping there rather than here. read more

If you like to save money and are a woman, then Ross is for you. If you are a man with a large girth (that is, waist size... mind out of the gutter), then Ross is for you. If you are a skinny and tall man, then Ross may not be for you. Unfortunately, I fall into that last category. Shopping at Ross is somewhat of a mixed bag for me. Their men's section is a fraction of the size of the rest of the store, like it was thrown in as an afterthought. And just as Americans as a whole are getting larger, the selection of small men's clothes here is getting smaller. Medium is the new Small? Uh huh. On the occasion that I find a "small" shirt that looks ok on me, it's still a little wide. I end up buying something about once in every five times I come here. And the line to the cashier takes just about as long to get through as it did for me to find that one shirt in the first place. I avoid this place now. It's not worth it for me. read more

The cashier timidly called me over the register, then she proceeded to help her previous customer with additional items; this would have been fine (not ideal) if she had informed me, instead, she said nothing. Two people went ahead of me, still no help; now I've missed my bus due to the incompetence of your staff, now a short trip turns long. Your staff could benefit from some basic customer service training... like smiling. I am extremely disappointed by this experience. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They'll forget to put your products in the bag and won't help you out when you call them to figure out where your products went. This is by far the worst ROSS I've ever gone to! I grew up loving ROSS, it was always one of my favorite stores to go to because I'd always receive good customer service upon walking in. But all the employees at this ROSS were no where near accommodating when I reached out for help.
