I used to come here for quick materials for my job (I work with kids) or if I want to stock up on items for my apartment. 1 star because the staffs are rude and condescending. Then again they are understaffed. Store is dirty and they only open 1 register so lines are long. Once in a while they'll open the other one. They'll specifically target customers based on their appearances to leave their personal belongings up front but on the floor, yet let others keep their backpacks etc. on them. Will never come back to this store ever again. I will stick to 99 Cent Store for quick buys from now on. read more

It is the Dollar Tree! and I'm a sucker for $1 stores so you can definitely find me in one or a 99 cents store at some point during the week. This Dollar Tree in particular is a-okay minus a star for unfriendly customer service (which is practically one of the only reasons I give out 2 stars anyways). The Dollar Tree has a whole bunch of random stuff that I enjoy- seasonal items, gift wrap/cards, stationary. I also don't mind going here for some foods like pastas and junk food because it is cheap and as long as I'm not purchasing organic anyways I might as well pay less then going to the regular grocery store for the same product. Plus a lot if their products are brand name, not all generic and/or cheaply made. I just have to be careful that what I walk in there to buy is what I walk out with because I can tend to purchase only two items but before I know it I have successfully bought 15...I mean it is only a dollar each, right?... :) Although I do like the setup of this Dollar Tree and what I can buy here I only want to give it 2 stars because the customer service has been unnecessarily terrible. The lines are always super looooong even when there are numerous employees walking around (maybe not all of them are trained to be cashiers?). If I have a friend with me, I have them wait in line while I pick up the items I want, that way we can get out if the store more quickly. Some cashiers are chill and I know they probably have to put up with a lot of less then pleasant customers, but a lot of times I don't really understand them. I didn't go back for awhile after I had a question for a cashier (I was buying a clipboard, but they only carried a small one and I was asking if they would double check if they had any larger sizes), she rolled her eyes at me but hesitantly asked another employee and they both laughed at me, literally! It made no sense and although it shouldn't have embarrassed me, it kind of did because of the way they were laughing at me, it was like they both wanted me to feel stupid. If I would have realized how ridiculous that was it was I would have walked out right then and there but it kind of took me by surprise and I didn't get what actually happened until after I left. I've returned since, but I just don't talk to anyone that works there anymore when I can't find something I'm looking for. I've never had a bad experience here, even how yucky the location is and homeless all around it. However, today, the manager TITO was very rude!!! It started with me going down an aisle to get water packets. A gentleman was infront of me so I told him he could go ahead and go infront of me because I needed to get water packets. I stood behind TITO as he was removing drinks and putting them in a cart, he knew I was behind him and didn't move. I waited a few seconds and said excuse me and he barely moved and kept working. He was still blocking me. I patiently waited, he saw I was waiting and continued blocking me. I said excuse me, he barely moved. So I told him " I need water packets and keep saying excuse me." He ignored me and kept attending to his stuff. At that point I was offended and he looked like he spoke English clearly so I asked, "do you speak English can you hear me?" I said it nicely and concerns, he says "no." Then he starts speaking English and I ask for the manager and he says he is. A customer asked for help, I warned the customer he probably wasn't going to help him and he was very rude to me, ignoring me and blocking me after I nicely said excuse me to get products, I even patiently waited twice!!! I told the customer he said he didn't speak English so I'm shocked he does. The customer asked if I got help and I said no but I was fine. Smh...what customer service is that! I paid for my items and asked the cashier for him to come up so I could make a complaint. Of course he tries to avoid it and barely help. Acting phony and pretending to be nice and suddenly speak English. I told him he was very rude and blocked me and said he didn't speak English. He tried to say I was the one acting some type of way but I wasn't....I waited patiently and called him out on his actions in a respectful way which anyone would when you get treated unfairly. He said he didn't care and that it was his last day and he wasn't going to be working there anymore tomorrow. Dollar Tree, that dude needs to be disciplined. I would have to have a manager like that. I have been to this location and don't know what they are expecting. It's a Dollar store not Gucci or some high end strore, from what I see the store reflects on its people, if they do their part and take care of it and don't leave a mess then it's obvious that employees here will focus more on the trashy people that leave it the way it is rather than focus on customer service!. Anyways There items are awesome though they have a wide Variety, better than any other Dollar tree I've been to. This is my go to store for great looking products. read more

I had to return 2 items. I brought 2 items to the cashier. Was unable to receive my 0.08 cent tax charged previously as one of my new items was a food item. When I asked for my 0.08 back the cashier with the manager right there said I would not receive the money because they told me it had to be the "same" type of item. ..which they certainly DID NOT! -The manager was the one whom I asked about the return when I entered the store! I refused to sign the return slip. Just think...all the Dollar Tree stores just in CA alone...how many returns? How many other people have they ripped off? I love this dollar tree. I was surprised when I walked in because it is the largest and cleanest dollar tree I've ever been to. They have great party decorations, gift bags, cards, seasonal decoration items and sooo much more and everything is $ 1.00!!!! This location has a much larger selection then other locations. This is a definite bargin store I will be returning to. read more

I work for social Vocational services in Riverside and I work with mentally disabled consumers there is a total of 6 , of all ethnicity's. We went to dollar tree around 9:30 to purchase arts and craft items and the manager Tito at the time did not let us comfortably stand in line he said that we were crowding the line I have about six clients and he wouldn't even take us next in line instead of opening up the register for us he opened it up and invited another customer to go ahead of us an check out, purchasing at dollar, we felt very disrespected and we felt most importantly DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. Please note that this dollar tree has no customer service skills whatsoever , i asked for his name, he is the manager " Tito". The employee that was at register 4, was embarrassed by his customer service performance, when we asked for corporates number , he said to go on the website, and do the survey. I know he had knowledge of corporates number, he just didn't want to provide it to us. read more

This place is great for all your immediate needs -- if you need a cheap picture frame, drawing book, soda, candy, this is the place to be. But if you are looking for quality, this place is not the place to go. But as a college student, Dollar Tree has been great to me and I'd definitely recommend college students to check out the Dollar Tree on Chicago to get the little things they need. read more

Customer service means alot to me and when I am treated less than a customer I let the store know because I have been checked myself when I did not treat people with dignity. Dollar Tree had a checker today that was rude, unprofessional and totally lacking in social skills. He acts like he has no teeth and that is the reason why he does not smile, he is afraid of eye contact and just basically (I feel) has a bad attitude towards customers. At one point, after coming back into the store while escorting a customer outside to do something with her cart he came back to his register and starting checking my items with the customer in front of me. When I corrected him on his error he looked at me like I had done something wrong. News flash that's when you say something like "oh I'm sorry" he was very insecure and really does not need to be waiting on customers. I complained to the manager on the shift at the time, Erica and she was very professional with me unlike her associate., "I" needs to lose the attitude at the door when he gets to work or you will have more complaints in the future. I dont really care for this dollar tree, not necessarily for unfriendly workers or anything, but it is always dirty lol - I dont think the workers go through the aisles and put things back where theyre supposed to be or pick things up, you know, make things look nice. Im also not sure if they care much when there are lines, though I guess only some of the workers might be allowed on register? I really rate this dollar tree low, though, because their food selection is really the the worst out of the other two in Riverside (theres another just ok one on Limonite in Rubidoux and a REALLY good one on Tyler tucked in the Target shopping center) and the one by the MV mall, and their other stuff, such as cleaning supplies, home decorations, and ect are subpar as well, though they do seem to have enough school supplies and stationary - pretty much what you dont need they have the most of lol :P read more

Love the Prices !!! One star only because there are never enough lines open. There is always a long wait. The staff is stressed out and under pressure so they're not very friendly. They have good customer service in the store but the reason I'm giving it one star is because they never pick up there phone. I need to check if they have some items in a large amount. They never answer I've called them for 3 days now and about 11 times and not one time have they answered. This is horrible customer service. read more
