I talked to Jen about a month ago about doing hair and makeup for my graduation. I was a little worried it wouldn't work out because my graduation was in the morning and Dolled Up opens at 9am! Luckily Jen said she was down to open early to work on me, and she said to come at 6am! I'm so appreciative of Jen for coming in so early to work on me and for listening to my preferences in doing my hair and makeup. I was looking for a lighter makeup look and simple waves for my hair and she delivered on both parts! She even reassured me about doing makeup on Asian eyes, which turned out great as you can see! My family and friends kept complimenting me on my makeup and hair, and I had to give the credit to Jen for helping me look as good as I did for my Master's graduation! Jen was friendly, helpful, and so sweet! I had a great time getting to know her in our 1.5 hour session together. If I ever needed makeup or hair done in the area, I would definitely reach out to her again! Thanks Jen :)

Hey all! I am new to waxing and found Dolled Up on Groupon and saw tons of absolutely incredible reviews. I got really excited and purchased the Groupon for a Brazilian wax+underarm and then tried to call to book an appointment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called upward of 6 plus times over a course of 2 weeks and I was not able to leave a message because the mailbox was full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No problem! They must be very busy and prefer to email or make an appointment online! [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I emailed to try to get ahold of someone. Part of their booking link to their website is a dead site (gobooker).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I tried to book through another link (Vagaro) on their website but they have the names of the Brazilian/bikini waxing services as "the Megan fox" or "the queen bee" or "the Vanessa Bryant " and I didn't know what the standard Brazilian was called since on the actual website & on Groupon it's just called a Brazilian.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wanted to ask which one to book for the Groupon I have already purchased so I tried calling and sending a follow up email. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I still haven't heard back from either. I called another time and this time the voicemail was no longer full so I left one![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I know people don't use phones as much these days so [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sent a DM this morning and I still haven't heard back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was so excited and kept trying to reach out through different platforms and give the benefit of the doubt since they're a well loved local business but I'm getting discouraged now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I completely understand being busy or not having availability for new clients. I can even understand being less willing to honor a Groupon, but I am having a hard time justifying not just letting the client know you're unavailable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not sure what the situation is but I think I've been very patient and reasonable and this is very unusual for a business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you don't like Groupon, please take down the offer on the site. If you're not taking new clients please put that on your website or just respond in one way to let them know you're declining their appointment request.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am deeply disappointed and want to warn those not to purchase a Groupon from here until you truly have an appointment. Beware new people on Groupon and proceed with caution. The pictures speak for themselves.

Is there a way to give this place zero stars? I have no idea how they have gotten such a good rating... I booked my first appointment through the website for an eyebrow waxing with Jenn. Based on the reviews I thought it wasn't too risky. I've had a few good waxing places that have been my go to but Covid has shut them down. So I show up for my appointment yesterday and the place is closed. I call the phone number and a lady answers and has some excuse and that I was called and they left a message. I had no calls or missed messages. This should have been a warning for me but I decided to try again and booked another appointment for today with Jenn. I show up and Jenn is at the front counter and checks me in then takes me back to do my eyebrows. She didn't even know she was doing my eyebrows and asked me to get undressed thinking I'm there for a Brazilians. We clear this up and then while she's telling me about her upcoming vacation she just starts waxing. It was really fast and I was caught off guard. I hate when this happens because I always regret not saying something! I'm a first time customer and she didn't ask me any questions like how do I want my brows to look. The whole time I was just hoping they wouldn't be too thin. Well I should have also hoped she wouldn't chop one off because that is what happened. Five minutes later and she was done, left the room and had me come out to pay. No mirror to take a look or see if I wanted any adjustments. I rushed out to go pay and get out of there because I wanted to avoid an uncomfortable situation. So please consider that I paid $40 (way more than my usual spots) to warn you about this place. Don't go.... Jenn fully chopped off the top of my left brow and didn't even clean up under my right brow. You can even see the shadow where the top of my eyebrow arch used to be.

I booked an updo here for a wedding I attended as I am hopeless at doing anything creative with my hair. Tiny did my hair and while I think she may have been a little new at doing updos, she couldn't have been sweeter or more attentive. I showed her some pictures of messy/relaxed braid + bun updos and she delivered. Also, whatever spray she used (texture? hairspray?) smelled divine and several people asked if it was my perfume! [I did pin a two little pieces into the bun when I got home but I think that is more an issue with my hair length and personal preference. It lasted all night no problem!]

So glad Dolled Up opened up! Living in S Redondo Beach, I used to have to travel to El Segundo for a blow dry. I was so unhappy with the service I received during my last few visits at the place I was going to, so when I heard about Dolled Up, I decided to try it. GOODBYE driving up PCH & sitting in traffic. Dolled Up is awesome!!!!! My blow dry was better, cheaper, better service, and they also offered me a beverage. I am beyond happy and I wish them all the luck in the world as I can see this place expanding to more locations. IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE!!!!!!

We're they open or closed.? The page says they close at 6pm. However when I arrived at 4:45pm I was told that they were closed. I've heard of the businesses in Torrance being racist but never experienced it until today. No explanation of the early closing just that she's working on the last client for the day. I could have possibly scheduled an appointment to come back another day but I didn't even get that offer.

I stumbled upon this place via Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! First off, the salon itself is adorable! Love the setup and the decor. Jen did my blowout- she's the sweetest! In my previous experiences at blow dry bars, I feel like they go out of their way to avoid conversation, so it was refreshing to have someone so personable doing my hair. She also did an amazing job- I got a ton of compliments on my hair tonight, so it's safe to say I'll be coming back again soon :) read more

I am so happy I found this Gem in Torrance. Their service is the best. I have been getting eyelash extension services for quite some time and was never fully satisfied with the service, that is until I headed over to Dolled Up where Crystal ( Eyelash Tech) applies lash extensions. First off she is Certified with Extreme lashes which if you know of their line, they are AMAZING. Secondly Crystal is such an awesome gal, Love her spunk and up spirit attitude. Made my lash experience like no other I have had in the past. I will definitely be a regular at this beautiful shop. Love the convenience of getting make up/hair done all in one if I need the service. Keep rocking ladies. See you soon. read more

I had a bad blow experience out at a salon inside Phenix Suites, as soon as I left I searched yelp and found Dolled Up, I was lucky they had availability to take me in. Once I arrived the girls were all very friendly and immediately dolled me up, I even got a quickie make up service. Karla and Mayra hooked me up!!! Very pleased with both services, great prices. This place is my GO TO! I have my hair done here all the time. They wash and style it for me they never spray it in fact the staff always double washes my hair why just because they know I like the extra head rub! Love this place!! And the staff. I found this little gem on a random drive by and I love it!!! So cute! I came in to get my hair blown out for a dinner I was having that night and they were able to take me right away. I got a wax while I was there too (literally the best, quickest wax- ever!) and I made an appt to come back for spray tanning. I live right down the street so it's super convenient. Everyone was super nice and I thought the prices were good. I felt so taken care of while I was - I really appreciated it! read more

This place is the BEST place for blowouts. I get a blowout here twice a week, they're always so sweet. All the stylists are amazing, great customer service. Ive been to Jen, Myra, and Andres and I've never had a bad experience. If you live in the south bay or are just visiting, this place is a must. Definitely a girls dream spot for beauty!! read more

I love how easy it is to find this beauty bar! The first time I walked in I was greeted by Tiffany who was super nice and sweet. I was offered a mimosa which definitely added to the experience! I came in for blow out and Jenn did an amazing job she made me feel like a celebrity and my hair lasted till the next day. Since my first time I've been back for eyebrow and lip waxing both Jenn and Anabell do a great a job shaping my eyebrows and filling them in. There's no way I can do this at home! I come in to get waxed every two weeks and the service is always consistent. I love this place so much I decided to try spray tanning for the first time and I have no idea how I've gone so long without trying it. Anabell does a very thorough job to make my tan is even, flawless, and looks super natural! I recommend this cute beauty bar to anyone who wants quality service, great environment, and who wants to be truly pampered! read more

I had an awesome experience at filled up! I got an airbrush spray tan for an upcoming beach vacation! I am a very pale skin tone so I was nervous that the tan would come off orange in the spray tan. But after getting the spray tan it looks the perfectly brown bronze color and looks very natural. The owner did my spray tan and she was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect with my tan before I left! I would recommend an airbrush spray tan from Dolled up!! read more

Went to see Jen for an event because I wanted hair and makeup . I asked for a smokey eye and nude lip and a blowout and was very happy with the results. The best thing it was all done in my own house! Jen was very friendly and will for sure be using again. read more

I came into Dolled Up for a wax, and it was the most pain free wax I've ever had! The woman who did my wax was so fun and professional, making my first experience here great. Unfortunately they are only open until 6pm everyday which does not work with my schedule (or many others I would assume). I sadly won't be able to return for future services as they don't even have one day a week they are open past 6pm. Great place, very sad I will have to go elsewhere for services due to their hours of operation. read more

I don't often get my hair done but seeing as it was my wedding weekend, I wanted to get my hair blown out before my rehearsal dinner. I found this place on Yelp and it was amazing! I live only 5 minutes away so a couple of my girlfriends and I made an appointment for a Friday morning. The salon is super cute and we were served mimosas right away. I believe Jen did my hair and Sarah did one of my other friend's hair. Anyway, everyone was so friendly and we all looked amazing afterwards. The prices are also great so I will definitely be returning. read more

We had an amazing experience here. Both my daughter and I went in for waxing and were welcomed the second we walked in. One of the best waxing experiences I've had. I absolutely love this beauty bar! Wonderful service, beautiful salon, friendly staff! I was a walk in for a blowout and waxing. I had my 2 year old daughter..I didn't have to wait was greeted with a glass of champagne a juice for the my little one. They did an amazing job on my blowout. The waxing was quick and painless I ended up getting a spray tan too! I bough some new products that I know I will love! Not to mention I also got "the baby doll" for my daughter! I love this place! Would definitely recommend it and will be coming back on a weekly basis for my blowouts! read more

Very clean and modern environment. Jen was a doll herself. Attentive, personable, sweet, generous and very able. I got the $35 Blow Out on a Wednesday late morning after scheduling online the night before. For a family photo shoot. Jen washed my hair (shampoo smelled really nice), worked in some quality hair serum, blow dried it, and then finished out with curling/style using a hair curling iron and some hair/setting spray. I have a lot of Hair so I appreciated that she was still thorough. Felt great after the pregnancy to get this mini pamper. Definitely will come back! read more

Dolled up is a super cute salon with a fun chic vibe. It's conveniently tucked away with accessible parking and I had no problem getting a same day appointment by booking online, which is really efficient. I went for a blow out and curls and I wasn't disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and I was impressed by the service. I was offered an alcoholic beverage, water and coffee and the staff was very friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The products were awesome and smelled great. Even better, they prevented me from having a frizzy fro for my on my night out in substantially misty weather. This would be the perfect place to take a few girlfriends to get dolled up before a night out on the town! read more

I booked a blowout the night before after a friend had recommended this place. I was a bit hesitant since it would be my birthday on the day of the appointment and didn't know what to expect. I was sooooo pleasantly surprised. I was running about 5-10 minutes late so I called to let them know and they were very understanding and said it would be no problem. When I walked in, I was kindly greeted by Alejandra. She was very kind, professional and just all around great. She made great conversation, made me feel welcomed and even offered me a beverage of my choice. Alejandra did my hair AMAZINGLY! I told her I wanted messy cute beach waves, a center part and some volume. She KILLED IT! I normally part my hair differently but they way she did it had me wishing I was paying attention more so I could replicate it! I came in for a Brazilian wax and I was impressed when they mentioned they had a first time wax offer. Instead of paying the full price of $47 I only paid $23.50. This was a pleasant surprise. Not only did I get a good deal I got an amazing service by Anabell. She made the process real quick and easy. She is very knowledgeable about how to take care of my skin. I will be back consistently. They also offer other services that I'm looking forward to try. read more

I just went for my first Brazilian wax ever and they really did a good job! It hurts, but they help distract you during it all and I feel like it could've hurt a lot more somewhere else. They were very professional and personable and I am definitely going back! Highly recommend!!! read more

That day, the person at the front was nice and helpful. I didn't know what to expect, since it was my first time. I was a little late. I didn't realize the traffic was going to be as bad as it was, however, I did call to let them know I was going to be late. There is a grace period but I didn't know how strict or not they were about it. I get to my appointment and right away, it's not a friendly and welcoming vibe. The person at the front (who was different than the one I had seen earlier the week before) and the person who worked on my hair seemed like they didn't want to be there at all and it showed. Bottom line - not worth it. I love treating and pampering myself, and this experience was quite frankly - awful. At times, it was actually painful because she just didn't care and was pulling my hair. I actually held my breath at times because I thought she was going to burn me with the hair tool. Definitely would not recommend.

The last 2 or 3 times there were a few things I didn't like (toner left my hair too silver or bleach wouldn't fully grasp the roots of my hair) so I would go back and he would fix them. I had an appt early July and he mentioned he doesn't do blonde hair anymore because his back hurts and always complained about me having soooo much hair. I texted him 2 days after washing my hair, he didn't reply. I waited 1 week after texting him the first time with no reply, then I texted him a third time and no reply. I feel like I had a good relationship with him, I could let him know what I didn't like and he would fix it. I did pay over $400 for my hair color ONLY, no haircut. He could've fixed it, then told me, I'm not doing your hair anymore or I'm not doing any blonde hair anymore. I'm so disappointed. So unprofessional not to message back.

I flew into town and lost all motivation to get ready for a 70s theme birthday party this evening. Fate/good karma/pure luck led me to Dolled Up for a full 'makeover' afternoon. Andres had super human skills with the blow-dryer, managing my thick head of hair as if it were nothing. He perfectly executed my Farrah hair wish in half of the time it takes most stylists. Alejandra was an artist on my face. I showed her several pictures of the look I was after and she created it. When I asked for a bit more of a pop on my eye, she delivered. Her hand was steady with the eye liner and she managed to give life to my dry skin. The atmosphere and service were A+. Worth every reasonably priced penny. read more

Great experience as a first time customer! I went in for a Brazilian wax (excited to know they use hard wax) and Jenn was very detailed and made sure I was satisfied with the work before leaving. She was detailed, precise, and time efficient! Her shop is clean with great customer service with an awesome loyalty program.
