Overcooked steak. The bottom side of the French toast was soggy and slimy before I even had a chance to put syrup on them. Funny tasting coffee. I thought it might have been the creamer but it might have been that one pot of coffee. Burnt to a crisp chicken fried steak. Extremely dry. Over 6 hours later, I'm still hurting from the meal. Amazing breakfast with delicious biscuits and pancakes! There were three of us in our party and we all ordered breakfast, which is served all day. We ordered an omelet, the Country (sausage and biscuits) and the lumberjack (pancakes, eggs, potatoes and meat). Pros and cons.. An older gentleman took our name, very friendly, the young staff , friendly also... the owner (safe to assume her name was Dolli) was extremely condescending. My husband ordered the Migas , he said it was ok :) , my son and I ordered a custom omelet, we asked our server if we can get scrambled instead of omelet . She replied " I'll see if our cooks can do that for you , we are kind of busy." I replied " ok sounds good." The owner personally delivered our food and we saw they did not do the scramble. I was not upset, but did respond to the owner (I was unaware that she was the owner at this time) saying " oh so they weren't able to scramble?" And her reply was very interesting especially for an owner.. she said " well the eggs ARE scrambled then they put them in a pan and they come out flat." She mentioned too that they were busy and the cooks "do what they do." I get it. But her attitude was that I was stupid for thinking a scramble and an omelet were not the same. I was just softly laughing to keep from arguing that they ARE different. Here's the funny thing , the Migas my husband got WAS scrambled! LOL . Dolli made it so my family and I will never go to her restaurant again. I believe an owner or even employee should care about what their patrons want and ask for. Her reply was not caring at all! She could have replied " sorry, the cooks are very busy right now." I would have accepted that and did accept the omelet without complaint. Sad cuz the omelet wasn't bad, (well if I'm super picky, I'd add that it was more egg than ingredients) I just like it better scrambled;) read more

Great food, fast & attentive service in spite of rapidly turning tables & a 20 minute wait to be seated. Parisienne Omelet was excellent as were blueberry flapjacks. Would have been SO wonderful plated on WARM dishes w/ warm syrup. Heads up, crowded & not distanced. Also, the dim hallway to the restrooms may result in your being in a different one than you intended. So, maybe the ladies' RR was less disgusting! I'm not sure what Teresia is referring to in a review prior to this. I was in the diner the Saturday morning before Labor Day, and everything was phenomenal! The food came out quickly and without a single thing wrong with it. The waitress was very friendly, and we never even had to ask for refills on drinks - they were brought to us. One of the owners, Steve even came over to talk with me a little. 10/10 I always recommend people try it, and I visit every time I come in to Nacogdoches to take a break from the big city life of Dallas. I've never once had a bad experience. Sometimes it isn't the restaurant which create bad experiences. read more

Stopped here for breakfast while visiting the town of Nacogdoches, Texas. I had the "Chef's Favorite" which consisted of 3 eggs, 2 bacon (my choice of meat) fried potatoes and two slices of French toast. I couldn't finish my meal but was very delicious. The bacon was crispy, my scrambled eggs cooked perfectly, and the wait staff was on point!! Hayden, our waiter, was extremely helpful with Hubby's dietary restrictions! First, the malts were delicious, though I'd heard they served them in the stainless steel malts glasses but ours came in styrofoam cups even though we were eating in. The loaded fries were a true disappointment. They were barely cooked and not seasoned at all, not even a little salt. If you order these, be specific. Go early on a Sunday! Opens at 9 and by 9:10 every table was filled. We sat at the counter which was a treat because the staff was super friendly and outgoing. So much so that I was convinced to step out of my breakfast comfort zone and try the blueberry sausage. WOW! That alone was worth the stop. The food is just okay. The service is good. They do not cary tobasco sauce, they do not use real butter for biscuits. I ordered the huevos rancheros and got two cold tostadas with some dry scrambled eggs on top. No sauce, no cheese, nothing. It was terrible. Their Cowboy breakfast is good. Dolli's dinner has some of the best comfort food I've ever had. The French toast is to die for! The burgers are delicious. The Duke is my personal favorite: bacon and grilled onions topped with an over easy egg- served on the best sweet bun you'll ever taste. The Nutty O'Brien is another favorite (not diet friendly). It has Nutella, banana, and bacon all grilled to perfection in between two pieces of Texas toast. What's not to like?? The blueberry pancakes are loaded with fresh blueberries. They don't skimp on anything and you get more than you pay for. Omelettes are thick and made with 3 real eggs. I haven't had a single thing that I didn't absolutely love from Dolli's! DON'T FORGET TO ORDER THOSE HOMESTYLE FRIES!!! If you're not already completely stuffed, get a chocolate malt to-go. One of the best places to eat in town and it's right in the middle of historic downtown Nacogdoches. If you're visiting, stop by the Texas shop right next door. Super cute souvenirs. read more
