This was sweet restaurant in Garrison Ny which is lovely town. The menu is clever on account it has enough to offer when you have a few people in your party who would like different taste of food. I myself had the oysters with Caesar salad, which is excellent super tasty and fresh. (Real anchovies yes). Other people in my party loved the falafel they said it had real traditional Mideastern flavor. The pork dumplings were a hit as well seasoned well and the size was perfect. All dishes are good to share as well. The service was excellent the server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Every cocktail is a perfect balance of top shelf spirits, requiring only one or two to feel nice and satiated. My favorite dishes include the cold spicy sesame noodles paired with the spicy Szechwan shrimp, the fried mushrooms, the cauliflower nuggets, the broiled gulf shrimp, and the hummus. A satisfying meal can be achieved with 2 starters. I've heard amazing things about the Moroccan stew but I haven't tried it yet. I will try it within the next couple weeks! Very wonderful location for a dinner. I must say the service was wonderful as my wife is not competent and made the waitress return a total Of 5 times before she knew what to get, and it was very embarrassing for me. The fried cauliflower was a little too much garlic to understand but they were fine and the sauce was spicy baby! So here you have a great dinner with a great view, however only one person gets to enjoy the nice view. One of the best meals we've had in ages. We enjoyed every bite, beginning with the fried cauliflower appetizer which we agreed was the best cauliflower we'd ever eaten. I had beautifully grilled fish and my partner had the duck and we shared a side of the spicy noodles. Everything was delicious, including our dessert and coffee. This is a delightful place with excellent cooking and a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone around us, including families with young kids, appeared to be having a great time. Dolly's is an exceptional restaurant. The food is unlike any other place in Westchester, which is to say consistently excellent and the opposite of the pedestrian fare served all over the county. Absolutely loved it! My shrimp and grits were glorious, as my drink (the Necromancer). My husband loved his lamb stew and his cocktail, which was a warm peach bourbon drink. Even my toddler loved it! This is an exceptional restaurant in the most idyllic setting on the Hudson River. The menu is diverse and full of elevated comfort food, something many restaurants claim to serve and fall short of. Our server was patient as our party thought about our order (for maybe a bit too long). My salad was crisp and flavorful, the chilled asparagus soup had a depth of flavor only extremely fresh ingredients could produce, and my soft-shelled crab sandwich was the best I've tasted. I was happy to see my picky daughter actually be nourished at a restaurant as she wolfed down a side of haiga rice with a crispy cauliflower appetizer, only to have some of the most delicious macaroni and cheese (I was lucky to be granted a bite of) for her dinner. The dessert menu was amazing as well; the locally-sourced soft-serve ice cream was delicious and the chocolate pudding was otherworldly. I should also mention the thoughtful drink menu. I wasn't quite sure what to make of this place. It was recommended, particularly the mushrooms, by the Australian in the amazing map store around the corner (definitely check it out). I ordered a couple of apps- the clam toast and mushrooms - I asked if I could just have it w/o toast because I have celiacs. It arrived w toast, and I started to have to explain I couldn't eat it blah blah blah and then was told it was gluten free toast. Huzzah! Delicious. Very garlicky and perfect for not getting sick! Then he asked if I wanted anything else... he forgot to put in the mushrooms. It turns out the mushrooms couldn't be made gluten free. Fair enough. So I asked about the shrimp tacos, he said no- the tortilla! I said some people have corn tortillas. So I ordered dessert instead. He came back and said there were corn tortillas! Great, in business! Scrimp tacos, beautifully cooked, but in need of hot sauce/ salsa/ something. I asked for tobacco or something spicy and got the most delicious green salsa. Wonderful. Went to order tea and I asked if there was a non dairy milk, my server said absolutely not. So With previous experience in hand, I asked if he could check. And there was oat milk. Done! So I'm short, the kitchen will bend over backwards to give you a lovely gluten-free, dairy-free meal if you just ask and maybe ask again. Maybe this waiter was new, or never had to find out the answers to these questions (or maybe just French- he did soften when I spoke to him in his native language) but in the end I had a lovely meal, with a great view, it just took a little to get there. Not sure why Dolly's is featured more for desserts -- don't get me wrong, their baked goods are spectacular, it's just that their meal food is wonderful too! I have gone several times for brunch, and have never been disappointed. The menu is small, but what's on it is super delicious. I mostly go for the veggie burger, which comes with some garlic aioli on the side. Their fries are thin cut and cooked perfectly. And I love their coffee! They also take reservations, which is fabulous especially on the weekends. And you can't beat the view of the Hudson River. Everyone who works there is super nice as well; just know that it is a small place that fills up, and so this is a place to go when you are not in a rush and can just sit and enjoy time with your dining companions while taking in a beautiful view! read more

The menu looked good but the execution of it was underwhelming + cauliflower nuggets were delicious - wasn't expecting a beer battered deep fried chicken wings - the taste was a bit off (vinegary) and the sauce provided we weren't a fan of. - fries were fresh but were blanched in water and vinegar which gave them a distinct aftertaste which we collectively weren't fans of - crispy fried cod sandwich was dry and bland + burger with bacon and sautéed onions were pretty delicious. + good beer and wine selection Overall: While it was a lovely restaurant, and staff was friendly and welcoming, the food was very underwhelming for the premium that was being charged. Went hiking with my husband and we stumbled across Dolly's at the end of our day! We were so excited to check it out. We sat outside, and it was a beautiful day so we had a great view of the water and the bright fall colors. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we shared a cheese plate and wine. We LOVE a cheese plate and really appreciated this one--the hazelnuts were a nice touch, and the spread (I think it contains honey) was so good! The cheese selection was perfect, too. We even ran into some former coworkers, who come to Dolly's often. The menu is extensive and we plan to visit again in the future for a larger meal. There are heat lamps on the deck so you don't freeze when it starts to get cooler in the evening. read more

The ambiance was cozy with light soothing music playing in the background. You could see the sunset setting which is a plus. Our waitress, Felicia, was amazing -very attentive and friendly. We started with the cauliflower nuggets and Falafel -delicious. For our main course, we had the spicy, curried red lentils with haiga rice (get this!!! you will not be disappointed) and crispy fish on potato bun. I went up to the Hudson Valley with friends to see the foliage, visit Boscobel and celebrate my birthday. Normally we would have visited Cold Springs but since two of us are vegetarian we could not find a restaurant with a suitable menu plus we wanted something different than the crowds in Cold Spring. A search of the area came up with Dollys and the charming village of Garrison. Dollys was a very wise choice. Everything about it was perfect. The entire staff, starting with Giancarlo, whom I had made the reservations with, the ambience, the views, the menu and the food. The four of us left there raving about our later afternoon meal. I decided to come to Dolly's with a group for dinner after an afternoon of hiking the Arden & Glenclyffe trail. The location is perfect; it's steps away from the Garrison train track and very conveniently placed near the trail. It's perfect for if you're coming from the city, where you don't even need a car to access a good meal. The interior is very classy and had a nice ambience going on. You can show up in hiking or workout clothes and not feel out of place since it seems like hikers frequent the restaurant often. I was very impressed with the entire wait staff. Each one that seated, served us, etc. was very polite and friendly, and we found ourselves in good conversation with the waiters. Most of us ordered the mushroom soup special which was incredible, with came with a delicious house-made focaccia bread. I had the veggie burger as my entree which did not disappoint. Although I did not get an alcoholic beverage, some of my buddies did and they were impressed with the variety of draft beers available. And another icing on the cake was that some people in my group are vegan, and they had no problem finding options on the menu to accommodate their diets. I would love to go back in the spring or summertime for the nice outdoor view of the Hudson, and it seems like the outdoor seating is a nice touch in warmer months. Prices were somewhat on the higher side, which is to be expected for any restaurant with a waterfront view. However, they were reasonable and much more affordable than I was initially expecting. I've been wanting to try Dolly's since they opened and tried once but couldn't figure out where to park (silly me) so this time we were able to park and get lunch. The food was FABULOUS. Best fries I've ever had anywhere, I need to have them again very SOON! Also had the best burger with prairie cheese (from Marbled, another favorite place of mine)! And I loved my cappuccino, which some places don't always seem to make right, but they did!! What a great location, next to the Garrison train station and what a gorgeous view of the river! We took a walk after lunch and thoroughly enjoyed how beautiful it is and will definitely be back! read more

Great service. Food ok. Ate outdoors. Pork dumplings and chicken thighs ( separate small orders for my meal) were ok. Dumplings were a little gamey for me but could just be the flavor of the pork. It was a generous serving. Chicken thighs were nothing special. A crispy skin might have added some texture and flavor. My husband wasn't crazy about the burger. Said kind of greasy ( maybe it was the cheese?) If you want more than a small slice of bread, need to order it and pay extra. read more

Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here. There were a few issues. My sea scallops were delicious and cooked to perfection, but they arrived to the table lukewarm. Two of my friends ordered the duck breast which was supposed to be accompanied by pickled rhubarb; but was instead served with pickled ramps. (It should have been mentioned that they were receiving something different than what was described) The focaccia appetizer was Delicious, but à ridiculously small portion for the price. My friend ordered a chocolate soufflé cake. What arrived was dense and fudgy-it was not light and airy like a soufflé should be. Our server was great, food was delicious, the views are amazing. Came here after doing the Arden Point and Glenclyffe Hiking look. We were a group of 15 and had a reservation ahead of time. The staff knew exactly what they were doing and were very professional. We all started out with drinks; the bloody Mary's and the Good as Gold got great reviews. Other people in our party enjoyed the extensive list of local beers Dolly's was serving. For entrees, most of us had burgers which came with shoe string fries and AMAZING aioli sauce. We got about 4 dishes of Mac n' cheese; would highly recommend as the sage breadcrumbs were a game changer. For dessert they only have ice cream during lunch hours but that was good enough for us. They do soft serve ice cream in vanilla, chocolate, or swirl. They have "Milo" to add on which has a taste similar to nesquik or Swiss miss powder. This was my first time having Milo but will not be my last! The view is great in that you are right on the Hudson. Overall very positive dining experience! read more
