My wife and I purchased hardwood floors and paid Dolphin Carpet & Tile (DC&T) to install them in a home that my wife and I just purchased (our 1st home). Within one month, the floors started to buckle and bow. DC&T was unwilling to accept any liability and advised us to file an insurance claim.The insurance adjuster's report stated "the failed floor installation is due to poor workmanship"... DC&T still would not accept liability... We then had a certified home inspector evaluate the job... his report stated that "improper installation of planks have resulted in a complete loss"... DC&T still refused to accept responsibility... Just to be absolutely sure, we had a certified hardwood floor inspector evaluate the installed floors, he too advised that the floors failed because the installers did not follow the manufactures recommendations... Once again, DC&T denied any accountability. It has now been over 6 months since DC&T installed the floors, we have since had those floors replace by another company... the new floors are still intact and we could not be happier with the job, in fact, we had the entire house done rather than the one room. To date, DC&T has made no attempt to refund any of the nearly $5000 we paid them. Solely based on their lack of integrity and unwillingness to accept any responsibility in the face of 3 professional opinions to the contrary, we would never recommend them to anyone.DC&T will likely respond to this review claiming that "they have been in business since 1977 and that they built their success on providing quality flooring and reasonable prices" and so on and so on. Here's my advice: Don't base your flooring purchase on what a company used to be, base it on what they are today... Today, in our opinion, Dolphin Carpet & Tile is a highly unprofessional corporation that lacks integrity and provides goods and services that are well below industry standards. read more

My husband and I purchased our first home and wanted to re-do the tile throughout the entire house. It was a BIG job, so we looked around and got several quotes from different companies. After our research, Ivan's offer from Dolphin Carpet & Tile was the best deal as it included the existing tile removal and disposal, new tile installation and materials, and new baseboards. They also said they could complete the work in 1 week. The reason we are giving this company a 3 star rating instead of a 4 or 5 is that once the work was complete, we found many mistakes. We had to call the installers back not once, but 3 times to complete the job properly. Each time for a different reason. First, the trash that was promised to be disposed of had not been. Second, we found an area of tile with an air pocket underneath (evidence of poor installation), and a third time because a week after they had already completed the job they had still not re-installed the toilets. When they did come back, they failed to notify us that one of the toilets was leaking water so we came home to a flooded bathroom. Overall, Dolphin Carpet & Tile did offer us a great deal and completed the job as they promised. A+ on customer service and prices, but the quality of work needs to be improved. read more

I recently had the luck of completely ruinning my carpet floors due to a bad painting job on my walls. I saw an advertisement of Dolphin Carpet and Tile that said they had very good prices. I decided to call them with low hopes but I was so happy to find through salesman Ivan, who helped me so much and his customer service was something I've never seen before, that the prices on TV were true. The installers came in on schedualed time and installed the new carpet that I had been dreaming over for a very long time. Ivan even had the decency to call me and make sure the job had been completed on time and correctly. I was more than happy to tell him that everything was on schedule and everything looked perfect. My new rooms now look great with newly painted walls and of course Dolphin Carpet and Tile's new, beautiful carpet floor. I recommended this place to my friend who ruined her floor also and she had the same feedback. I now recommend this place to everyone becaue they've made me and everyone I talk to happy. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND SELECTION. I had an unusual situation where I had to use two different locations of Dolphin Carpet & Tile. Doral and Aventura. At both stores I received excellent service form the sales professionals that went above and beyond. The tile selection and availability was great, the Doral location had the two tiles I need in stock and available the same day. I purchased my carpet and installation from the Aventura store. the salesperson was very helpful in picking out my color (trying to match some pillows). The installation could not have gone smoother.
