I called the company after seeing the van on biscayne and made an appointment with the office staff. The woman was very kind and got me set up to meet with Andres. I rearranged mine and my husband's schedules to be present for his arrival between 11:30am-12pm on 2/7/25. My phone was on silent but my car was in the yard and we were anticipating his arrival. He texted me at 11:31 saying he was here. He attempted to call at 11:38. He did not get out of his car, come in the yard and knock on the door. The office called me 8 minutes after his call (he said he had "been here a while", but it was only 7 minutes). I told her I was here and let her know I was on my front porch looking at his car. I waved at him and hung up with her thinking she would text or call him to look at the porch about 25 feet away. Instead he pulled off. I yelled for him and even went into the street. I then hung up and called him and told him I had been here the whole time and asked him if he would circle the block and return. I also informed him that he should have knocked on the door prior to leaving. He then gave out a VERY AUDIBLE sigh (as if I was bothering him and not a prospective client). I was shocked to say the least. What company employee does this to a prospective client? I then told him if it was a bother then that's ok. He said "ok thanks" and apparently kept going! Wow. This is one of the rudest and laziest interactions I have had with a front facing company employee in some time. I thought management should be aware that this occurred and emailed them so they could consider how their client facing employees communicate with prospective customers. As a business owner myself, I would be appalled. Both of the women who called me were very kind and professional. However, I cannot say the same for Andres. If this is how Mr. Wood treats their customers, I would be afraid to use their service at all. I would also share this experience with my neighbors and friends. Andres also sent me a patronizing text stating "it would he would have appreciated the heads up if I wasn't going to be available. I think I would have appreciated the heads up if he wasn't going to even take the time to get out of the car. Would not recommend. read more

I called Andres to refinish a maple floor at a client's apartment. He went to see the place promptly and gave me a quote. I hired him and without even asking for a deposit his staff promptly provided the required documentation and followed up with application for the job with the condominium. They sanded the floor and he provided a few samples for the new color the floor would be stained with. He was very patient and after the first coat advised he would do another to make the place look better. I noted some imperfections on the baseboard installation done when he was not present; I sent him pictures and he sent his crew the next day to fix them all. I was very happy with the work and the service and would highly recommend based on my experience. read more

Poor work, didn't stick to the agreed upon schedule. Workers just didn't show up on only the second day of the job without explanation. The gentleman in charge is unprofessional, not answering phone calls but only will respond with a text if he feels like it. Once the job was finally done, there were mistakes made so they were supposed to come back to fix what they messed up. After begging the owner to have their mistakes fixed, they finally came back and made things worse on the floors and never to hear from them again. They never came back to fix what the messed up after agreeing several times to do so. Horrible company and horrible management. read more

I called Andres about a squeaky floor board that was also compressing down. He was very nice and professional when we spoke on the phone. He accommodated my schedule and came out to my home. Andres checked out my floor and told me there was nothing to worry about, nor that I had to spend money on to fix. He explained the subfloor design, gave me a pen, and told me to call him if I needed him. What a different experience. I have to say this is now the fourth time since we moved to Biscayne Park that I have found people to work on my home that have either done work for free, provided free good advice, or both. Andres did an amazing job with my 1950's white oak wood floors. Initially, I planned to refinish the living room but after he gave me a great estimate for the whole house we went ahead with it. I could not be happier with the results and the floors look like new! He and his workers are very honest and detail oriented. I read the reviews on Mr. Wood Floors and Andres and called him to come out to bid on my job which is refinishing our wood floors and the staircase. I think the reviews must all be by his friends because I can't believe they are talking about the same person but they are! This is when the nightmare begins. Everything he said made it seem as if he would do a great job and that he has experience and a good eye for design. Everything he said was contradicted the next time we spoke. I almost didn't hire him but didn't know of anyone else and with the Yelp reviews I thought I would use him. He showed up for the job and everything was a huge ordeal. He had his men move my furniture and I was watching but that made them feel like they couldn't nick the furniture. When they told me that my response was that the furniture should not be nicked! Then they wanted to move my dryer out to use the 220 volt and were going to slide it on my floor and wouldn't be responsible for scratching the stone floor. Then Andres told me there would be a lot of dust and he wouldn't be responsible for any damage done from the dust or their work. When he initially came to discuss the job he said there would be dust but that his machines would take care of most of it and not to worry (which seems to be his favorite expression) that they would cover everything in plastic. Now all of a sudden he is worried about the dust. My head was spinning from him. He then walked out on the job saying he had a feeling something bad was going to happen. I've done a lot of work on our home and I've had some bad experiences but I've never seen anyone as unprofessional, disorganized, and inappropriate and inconsistent in what he told us what to expect and what would be done. My house in miami shores was a total remodel. Out of all the people I hired for various jobs on my house Mr.wood was by far the best customer service. He was prompt every time he was scheduled to come to my house, his staff was polite and most of all cleaned up after themselves (which was a big issue when I hired other people). His prices are fair but most of all the work they do is flawless. I had wood floors added in the kitchen and den as well as refinishing and staining all the old wood in the house (from the 1940s) and it matches beautifully. Andre told me everything upfront regarding the dust that would be created so I was prepared for it. We have very good communication. Pricing was fair and reasonable for the amount of hard work that was involved with this restoration. His team showed up early everyday to get a good start on the day to get job done. I was amazed to see how quickly the restoration took place in only four days for a 2500 sq. ft. split level house.
