Very disappointed they tell me they have the tile I stock so I buy it I ask do I go around the back to get it in my truck the guy tell me know I have to come tomorrow because they don't have it and they need to send it from there other location. So then it's not instock... I come to get it the next day and the warehouse guy tells me he dosen't have it and ask I come back another day. WTF how hard is it. I tell them I am not going to wait around that I want to cancel the order they tell me I can't cancel because of delays read the rear of the contract. They ask you to sign and you do but then when you have a problem your F don't do business with them the commercial brought me in the business pushed me away. Mike Dubin in the Coral Springs store was extremely pleasant professional and knowledgeable He was exceptionally helpful and stuck to his original quote, even saved us some money at the end. Carlos was our installer he's a contractor they use regularly. He too was very professional swift, efficient and clean not to mention respectable and pleasant. He did an awesome job in record timing. I have to say, I'm delighted with the service I received and my new floors! I was abit apprehensive due to the other reviews but after I shopped at the big name stores, I stopped by the location near the Falls. Immediately a gentleman asked if he could assist me, and proceeded to show me the different wood flooring they offered. Not knowing how much sq ft I needed he offered to come to the house and measure. Once He arrived at my house, he measured the two rooms, and proceeded to give me a quote. To my surprise, the quote was significantly less than the name brand store! Now I like getting a deal but I also wanted to make certain I am dealing with a reputable company. I know that they've been in business for over 30+ years so they must be doing right. I had them install my flooring and I must say , from beginning to end, Dolphin Carpet & Tile made a stressful situation (remodeling!) a pleasant experience for me. I'll be sure to recommend them to everyone I know and would not hesitate to use them again. read more

The carpet is just okay - yet I did not want to pay a lot for carpet. The manager of the store tries to make you think you are getting a deal which you're not. I would never use them again because service is horrible. Jeff Stevens is the Assistant General Manager and does not know how to manage a company. I live in a 3 bedroom condo and many of the units in my building have had their carpets replaced in 1 day. Dolphin Carpet scheduled only 1 day to replace the carpet. When the workers came to my unit they brought carpet for only 1 bedroom and 1 closet and had no intention of replacing the carpet in the other 2 bedrooms that day. Jeff Stevens was rude and did nothing to solve the problem. In fact, he was going to have another crew bring the rest of the carpet and leave the carpet until they were able to come back (not install it just leave it middle of my living room). If I was told it would take more than 1 day (which they would know prior to scheduling the appointment by the square footage of the unit) I would have scheduled 2 days. Instead they came on a Friday did not start working until after 10:00 (since I was so mad when the workers told me they were only going to work on 1 room I asked Jeff Stevens if someone would bring the rest of the carpet and I was arguing with them they did not start working right away) and the workers left by 2:30 in the afternoon. They would have been done even earlier but they did have an hour lunch break. My building allows the workers to work until 5:00 and sometimes 5:30. The following Monday and Tuesday I had to be out of town (which I knew in advance) . Dolphin Carpet did try and come back on Monday but since I was not here they came back on Thursday. Again, they completed the job before 3:00. I did not receive an apology and have not been able to reach Jeff Katz. I have left numerous messages but Jeff Stevens told me that Jeff Katz does not handle any of the operations. This is an extremely poorly run company and the employees lack people skills. I would rather pay more than be inconvenienced like this. read more

Terrible tile job! Dolphin carpet and tile subcontracts the work out to a company that does substandard work. First, they don't speak English so communicating was impossible. They claimed that one guy spoke English but everything we told him was never understood. We constantly told him that the grout was to be 1/8 inch, our grout ranges from 1/8 to 1/4 inch. We told him that some tiles were sitting significantly higher than others, mostly because they went right from removing old tile to laying new tile without preparation. They left a lot of grout and thin set to dry on the tile which took a lot of work to removeDuring the inspection,, for which the manager Vince came out to the house, we found numerous chipped and otherwise defective tiles. The company came out and chipped up all the tiles(we have since found more chipped tiles) to replace them. Now here is the fun part, they never made a note of the color grout they used to set our tile so the guy kept going back and forth to Home Depot to try to figure out which color they used, which he never quite found. We now have two, possibly three different colors of grout, while they are close in color, they appear darker in areas due to the different levels of tile and sizes of grout lines. Here is my favorite part of the whole ordeal. I called Vince to try to get some spare tile since so much was wasted with ineptness. I gave him my name, he didn't know who I was so I told him we were the ones with the bad tile job, he still didn't know who I was. So I said " you know, you came out to our house saw the substandard work and made the guys replace the tile" he still did not know who I was! How many bad tile jobs has this place had? Our tile will never be quite right but we gave up, we didn't want any more grout colors, 3 is enough. Don't use this company, you will be disappointed. We had damage from Hurricane Irma and the remediators for our condo contracted with Dolphin Carpet to replace two wood floors. We had to pay for this project 100% upfront, which I have never had to do beforeThe guys did not start on the day they were supposed to. However when they did come they did most of the work in two days. On the third day they came back to finish but left immediately because I was not there. I was staying elsewhere because of the damage to the apartment and they were supposed to be dealing directly with the remediators, who had about 50 men on site that day. Because they could or would not come back in a timely manner, the painter hired by the remediators had to install the baseboard, and it was agreed by Randy Lamchick that we would be refunded the money we had previously paid him to do this. Also, in three doorways where the wood meets other flooring there is no finishing strip, and Dolphin said it would only take them a few minutes to fix this. Three weeks later I neither have the money they owe me, nor have they finished the floor. I would never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone read more

All I can do is laugh now that I'm reading some of the older reviews...shame on me for not doing so before having work done. I guess I fell blind to everything when I saw the 0% interest special. Long story as short as possible. Had the work done and everything seemed to be OK. Tld followed instructions to clean tile the following day with vinegar and water combination. After doing so I realize that about 1/3 of the tiles are hazy. I call Vince (the manager) and he sends the workers back to clean them. They tried for hours and even came back the next day and tried with some other products...nothing, tile will hazy. Vince comes out and sees it himself and acknowledges the issue. Promises they will fix it and has the GM call me. About a week has gone by and I still haven't moved back into my house bc I figured they had to replace the tile. Another week goes by, now 2 weeks after installation and im still being told they'll fix it but they do nothing. A month goes by with countless calls to Vince and the GM and they did nothing. I spent $5,000 with them and they left me with hazy tile. I ended up having to pay a company that came out with some special product and machine and got the haziness out. Vince and the GM will feed you every lie and leave you with a bad job. If you read the reviews, you'll see that im by the only one. Shame on me for ever stepping foot in there. Frustrating experience and they did nothin to resolve my issue. Worst part is the constant b/s and lies that the manager will tell you...his tactic in hopes that you'll go away. Pretty sick to think that guy is still in business. read more

2nd time using Dolphin Carpet and Tile, This time purchased from the store in Coral Springs, Carpet Installers were nice and polite and did a good job, i was expecting maybe a scratch here and there but wasn't expecting the hole they put in my door, called the store manager said he was sorry but nothing he could do seeing how I signed off on it, just a word of advice, Before you sign off walk every inch of the job, take a very close look, don't be in a rush to get back to work like I did and hold them responsible because once you sign off and pay in full for the job don't expect them to fess up to their errors read more

I had a positive experience. I purchased from the store near the Falls. I asked for ASAP tile installation with sound proofing, and they were able to schedule it quickly. The condo association where I live has strict installation rules. However, all requirements were met. The installers, esp Robin, were knowlegeable and answered every question. The workmanship was very good. They finished a day early. They showed up on time each day and cleaned out the common area after work. read more

Very displeased with the customer care and the installation of our over $12,000 wood floors. Firstt of all they requested FULL PAYMENT PRYOR TO THE INSTALLATION , so I had no LEVERAGE if anything went wrong. Most honest business request 50 % up front, then other 50% after the job is finished. Not them. Could not get the thresholds professionally done, poor transitions of the marble floors to the installed wood floor. Vince would not return my calls, I had to continue to call them to get anything done, hard time trusting them again . I had to fight for good service. Will not use them again read more

My dad had to replace a couple of tiles around his house due to water damage. His house is about 60 years old so I knew finding tiles that would even resemble the original tiles would be difficult. We ended up going to dolphin carpet and tile because they were the only one to carry the tiles that were a close match. We told them we needed only 3 boxes of 13 x 13 inches tiles because we were replacing a portion of the floor. Randy, who was the salesman, told us we had to order the tiles because they were not in stock plus we had to pay shipping. In total it was about $100. 3-4 days later we picked it up but when my dad tried to install the tiles he noticed the measurements were not 13 x 13 in but 14 x 14. I called to tell Randy that we received the wrong tile size. He told me I got the right size and said according to the manufacturer, not all tiles come in exactly 13x13, the size varied. I then asked him why he didn't inform us the size we order is not going to be exactly 13x13, he replied by saying "well you didn't tell me you needed exactly 13x13". I'm like how were we suppose to know that we had to say that to you. I asked for a full refund but Randy said that because they had to order the tiles there were no refunds. I asked to speak with the manager, Randy told me that I would get the same reply. He gave me a phone number to call. I spoke with "Jeff" who I believe is the owner of the chain and indeed I got the same reply "you should of told us that you needed exactly 13x13". So we were at fault? I told Jeff you would think it would be common sense to know that we needed exactly 13x13 when we told them we were replacing a portion of the floor not the entire floor, so yea the size we get is important. I also told him that you guys are the professionals, we are the customers how were we suppose to know we have to say we need exactly 13x13. When we placed an order for 13x13 tiles, we expect to get 13x13. The entire phone call was to no avail. I did not get a refund. My dad ended having to rent a tile cutter from Home Depot, which cost about another $50. They have no customer service what so ever. I should have taken the lack of present customers as a sign. The two trips I made with my dad to the store there was only one customer other then us. Never will I ever buy anything from dolphin carpet and tile again and I told my friends and family and co workers what happened and to steer clear of them. One more thing, my dad actually went by himself the first time and the Randy fellow first told him that the 3 boxes cost like $50 each without the shipping. My dad doesn't speak English that well so thats why i decided to go with him to buy it. When I pointed out to Randy why the price was so high, especially when it was priced at $1 something per squared foot ( I Can't recall the price exactly), he took out his calculator and was like oh you're right it's only like $20 a box, and only then did he mention the shipping. I mean calculating $50 a box when its actually about $20 is a huge difference and if he is used to selling tiles he should have known something was wrong. I'm hoping that the calculation was an honest mistake. If not shame on him. I was very upset about this whole ordeal for a while but then I think of Karma and I'm a-okay. If that was THE Jeff Katz I spoke on the phone with, shame on him too because the slogan for the store is "the dolphin promise - get it right" and obviously they don't live by that ethic. We needed a carpet asap and installed before July 4th since we had family coming into town and we didn't want to walk on bare wood. We picked out a Mohawk carpet. Randy our sales person told us it was in stock and he would be able to get it installed wed/th. Great! No, not so great. Vince, the manager told us the COLOR was in stock, but the carpet had to get ordered!! Huh?? Makes no sense. We wanted to cancel the order and go to another dealer who guaranteed us next day installation but Dolphin would not reimburse us our deposit, so we were stuck. Upon installing the carpet, installers told us they are not allowed to cut the carpet until we paid the remainder of the balance!! That should be another clue. Pay total amount BEFORE installation?? Mmm!! Their business practices are shady, they are not upfront with you and straight out lie. Be extremely aware before going to that store. Read the contract very carefully!! It is filled with contingencies and benefits only them. This will be the last time we do business with them no matter where they are located! read more
