Wonderful and so much fun. This was my 3rd dolphin sighting booking but my 1st with this company. I was surprised by the much smaller boat but I had SO MUCH FUN!!! Our captain was Robie (pronounced Robbie) and he is a local and he even lives in a boat in the area. He was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us engaged on the boat. We had a total of 5 people on the boat besides the captain. So nice to have full viewing ability and open space. I was nervous being on such a small boat but Robie made sure we felt safe and he kept very good control of the boat when high waves came. We were able to see several dolphins and a beautiful sunset. Hope to come again and book with my family

After negotiating some weather, Heath and his team put together a fantastic sunset cruise experience for our family. Capts Patrick and Ian got us up close to the dolphins and the perfect sunset view at dusk. Highly recommend this outfit.

We had a wonderful private boat tour around Broad Creek with Robbie! We saw dolphins, learned about the area, history and wildlife. This was fun for the whole family. We would definitely book with Dolphin Discoveries again!!

We had such a blast on our private cruise with Captain Chris. We were somewhat nervous about taking our four month old out for a sunset cruise but went for it as his schedule was wonky from a day of travel anyway. The required life vest wasn't his favorite but he got used to it. Chris was accommodating to anything we wanted or needed and taught us a lot about the island and it's wildlife. We had great conversation and of course saw many dolphin and a beautiful sunset. I'm so glad we did this in general, but especially on night one. He gave recommendations for the rest of our trip that were also great. Thanks Chris!! Tip: Upon arrival to the street, take your first right at the signs for the marina instead of going all the way down like google maps says.

My friends and I booked the sunset cruise. My first time on such a small boat. I was VERY nervous. I never imagined I'd enjoy it as much as I did. Our Captain Robie was awesome. He shared so much information on the area and dolphins. He also ensure we were comfortable the whole time. Warned us before he sped up. I hope to return and book again!

Highly recommend! We did the 11:15 tour, high tide, and it did not disappoint! I didn't get much photos because I took more videos. We saw dolphins 10 minutes into staying our tour all the way to the end of the tour. We had Doug as our tour guide and he was fantastic! They are more pricey compared to other companies, but we got up close to the dolphins. The bigger boats were sitting back watching. I'm so happy I went with my decision and went with them!

    Fishing for bait fish

We took our family of four, my husband and myself along with our two kids ages 10 and 9 and had an absolute blast!! We had a shark fishing and dolphin watching tour scheduled for Saturday morning and had a little bit of a delay because of a storm but Captain Jay more than made it up to us. We caught sting rays, blacktip, bonnethead, sharpnose, hammerhead and bull sharks. We even caught some baitfish which was super cool because the dolphins were just a few feet from the boat catching some for themselves. We highly recommend this company and our Captain. He made us feel safe the entire time and his energy made it even that more enjoyable. Looking forward to another trip in the future with Dolphin Discoveries!

The small boat experience was really cool, especially when we stopped to watch the dolphins.

For nostalgic reasons, I decided to treat the family to one on our visit to Hilton Head this year. We were fortunate to find a parking space in the parking lot near the Lighthouse at Sea Pines. We walked around a bit until one of the benches in the harbor opened up. The family stayed there while I went to figure out where to get onto the boat. This gave me the opportunity to take some pictures in the harbor. When we boarded the boat, we were guided to a table on the lower deck which was air conditioned. The sun was blazing through the window and we unfortunately did not have a shade that we could pull down like there were at some of the other tables. We made the best of it. Our server was very friendly. He explained that he was working to meet people and to see what he could learn. By the end of the trip, he exchanged information with my son. The meal was surprisingly good. I was skeptical and thought that it might be bland because it was mass produced. Every dish was prepared well and had good flavor. Everyone in my party truly enjoyed their meals. The sights are tremendous. We saw a few dolphins while the boat was underway. The sunset was breathtaking. I definitely recommend this experience.

BUT, the 9 am cruise to Savannah is my friends and my favorite cruise. I wish it was every day of the week but I believe it is just 2 days a week. It is a great way to see the inter-coastal water ways, you have 4 hours to visit Savannah, get a great lunch and a pleasant ride back to HHI in time for dinner on the island. They also offer tickets on board for the Old Town trolley in Savannah if you prefer that to walking-we have all already done that at other times when we've road tripped to Savannah. But that is nice for visitors new to Savannah to see the sights and hear the history plus you can get on and get off at different places which is nice. I have also taken friends on the afternoon Dolphin cruise which they loved. The best time is on Saturday in the summer, I believe, since less busy with visitors leaving and arriving and they are not thinking about cruises. The captains really search for different pods of dolphins while engaging with their guests.

The narration was informative, and seeing the massive cargo ships and waterfront activity was a unique experience. The boat was spacious, with both indoor seating and outdoor viewing areas. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were surprisingly good--definitely above average for food on a sightseeing cruise. We also opted for the 42 oz souvenir drink, which was well worth it if you plan on enjoying a few drinks during the cruise. It lasts the full three-hour experience, and the bartender was fantastic--friendly, personable, and made a great drink. Unfortunately, it rained during part of our cruise, which likely impacted the experience since we couldn't spend as much time outside taking in the views. Of course, the weather isn't something the company can control, and there was plenty of indoor seating to stay comfortable. Overall, this was a fun and worthwhile experience that I'd recommend to first-time visitors, couples, and families. Between the scenic views, interesting narration, better-than-expected food, and excellent bar service, it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours on the Savannah River. I'd definitely return--hopefully on a sunny day next time.

There was some history mixed in along the way, which was interesting, and the whole experience was relaxing. The food was probably the weakest part for me. It was served buffet style with fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, plus fruit. It wasn't bad, but it was all pretty lukewarm and just didn't leave much of an impression. That said, I don't think people are booking this for the food anyway. You're booking it for the views, the boat, and the experience. We had fun, enjoyed the ride, and I'm glad we did it.
