We ordered the Doma's Roll and Sushi & Sashimi Lunch. The latter came with a miso soup and salad. I was pleasantly surprised by how the Doma's Roll came with 10 large pieces. And everything tasted fresh. The California roll was definitely better than average. We were very full and content by the end of the meal. Service was also excellent - friendly and prompt. The restaurant isn't big but the seating is comfortable. Definitely one of the better sushi spots in Burlington! read more

I recently visited Doma Japanese Restaurant and while the food was amazing, my experience with the service wasn't as pleasant. I was asked to pay up front before being served, which made me wonder if there was something about my credibility. My meal was initially handed to me in a plastic bag, even though I intended to dine in. After clarifying, they plated the food but served the sushi and the hot appetisers, like the lobster tempura, at the same time, which wasn't what I expected. Drinks like water were only offered at the end of the meal. The food was truly great, even though the lobster tempura was a bit dry, the service could definitely use some improvement. I give the food 4 stars and the service 1 star, which averages to 2.5 stars overall. read more

Doma Sushi is hands down one of my favourite sushi spots! I kept passing by Doma Sushi when going to Burlington for errands and had to remind myself every time that I should try this place out. When I finally got around to checking off that to-do box in my head, I was not disappointed. Doma serves up fresh, quality fish with an assortment that you're not likely to find at any other sushi joints (and definitely not at an AYCE establishment). They also have a great selection of rolls consisting of the standard fanfare that you would expect at most sushi places, but also their own unique spin on a few items. I've tried their lobster roll (interesting and yum), crispy salmon (super yum, would re-order & highly recommended), and crispy tuna roll (super yum, would re-order & highly recommended). Everything I've tried at Doma has been wonderful so far and I'm eager to return and try some more items off their menu! The only minor ding: although the overall presentation and plating of ordered items were nicely done, I did notice on several occasions that their rolls were quite loose - rice came across quite easily when picked up. Service for both dine-in and take-out is warm, polite, and attentive. Prices are on the pricier side compared to other places in Burlington but it is well worth it for the quality and taste that Doma offers! read more

Doma is tucked into the big plaza on Walkers and Dundas. It's a little shop but still seems spacious inside. The place is homey and very clean (so necessary for a place that deals with raw food). The service is impeccable. The waitress was amazing. I asked take out for the udon but it wasn't on the takeout menu and she said it's just because people usually ate in with that item but she'd get it to go if I wanted. I decided to eat in. I got the spicy scallop maki roll. DELICIOUS. I do feel like they could've put a little more fish in as it was mostly filled with tempura bits. But it's something I'd still reorder. The nabe udon was hot and yummy. However, they put very little ingredients in :( and it tasted a little fishy nooooo. The price is reasonable and their is a clear effort to make everything fresh. The presentation is clearly a win from their dishes to the restaurant itself. I'll be back to try their other dishes for sure :) read more

BEST SUSHI EVER! My husband and I recently just moved from the states. We have tried so many sushi's places that lacked quality. Doma sushi did not disappoint at all with the quality of the sushi. We got the volcano roll, French kiss roll and California roll. All amazing and the freshest quality. We also got shumai as an appetizer and it was delicious. You can even tell down to the soy sauce it is the highest quality. I can't wait to go back again and try the different rolls they offer. The staff as well so friendly and so kind. They were a little short staffed last night but their kindness and the excellent food was worth the wait. Highly recommend trying this place out. read more

My and my boyfriends favourite sushi place! High quality, friendly environment. Servers remember our orders, although we only come by every couple months. Tried the sushi boat with beef teriyaki- still steaming hot, sashimi are thick cuts and the sushi is so fresh! Ended the meal with a scoop of green tea ice cream. Great bang for you buck! read more

Good call on this restaurant!!!! Visiting Mississauga for the day and wanted to have some good Japanese food. We rarely try restaurants unless they are 5 star and are rarely disappointed. The food was delicious with good quality fresh fish, decent portions - not too big, nice presentation. Great service friendly staff and clean restaurant. The only thing was that the music was soft rock/Canadian folk music. Would have been better if there was Asian music instead. Great overall and we would definitely come back. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in good Japanese food. read more

Don't let the 5 star reviews fool you. We ordered this evening and were disappointed with the quality of our meal. The shrimp tempura was inedible as they didn't clean the shrimp properly before breading and cooking. The intestinal line was still intact....very gross. Secondly our two rolls, Fantastic Roll and Tuna Lover were just ok....barely. They are smaller than any roll I have ordered elsewhere and therefore overpriced. The flavour was poor and I was not excited at all for the next bite. I didn't care to finish but if I didn't it would be a complete waste of $45. There are plenty of better options out there!! read more

Amazing little spot, food is super fresh and they have a lot of fish ( yellowtail, salmon roe, yellowtail belly, salmon belly etc) you wouldn't find in most sushi spots around the area. Staff is very nice and the chef is great. Id recommend to anyone that loves real sushi read more

This place is a gem for sit-in and take-out. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff are consistently warm, inviting, and helpful. We've been there more than a dozen times and have done takeout for parties a few times. The place is always spotless and as clean as one would hope for in a restaurant.
