Sushi is fresh, service is attentive, and quick. Clean, family run, and the clientele seem to be all repeating customers which says a lot about value and quality.

Who said sushi is not for vegetarians. This restaurant definitely does not think that . They have some amazing variety for sushi for vegetarians. I ordered a veggie sushi maki tray with 36 pieces. They had different varieties like cucumber and avocado, fried tempura, mushrooms and yam . Loved the fried tempura one the most . The price was also reasonable and not on the higher side . I definitely want to have more kinds of veg options there but definitely they have good options . Everything was packed beautifully and the lady spoke really well with very kind staff.

Very nice atmosphere at Dai Ichi. The service is very good. I found the sushi to fit the craving but was surprised at the price point on the spider roll (17.99 wow).

This is one of those places you drive by all the time and always forget to try. Well it happened people! Sushi lunch to enjoy on a team call, what's better? I ordered yam avocado roll and spicy crispy salmon roll. Simple but SO satisfying! I noticed that the rolls were coming a part when i was eating them more than usual. I thought that was interesting but it didn't affect the flavour in my opinion. As you can see in the photos it was well packed and well dressed with toppings! I would be happy to order again from Dai Ichi and try some other items - seems like they also have Korean dishes on the menu as well!

Overall a good experience. The waitress was very pleasant. We were seated in an individual booth, so it felt clean/safe. We usually order takeout sushi and the food is very consistent. We ordered the bimbimbap, sushi boat and takoyaki. I'd probably skip the takoyaki next time, but everything else was tasty.

Nice place with great friendly service, fish was fresh, a bit pricy, but well worth it!

I had their lunch special, box D (Sashimi + Sushi). The fish was fresh and good quality. You'd be comfortably full after the meal. However, the price is leaning on the higher side considering it's their lunch special. I also think it's really odd to add white rice along with sushi (that's too much rice). Something like Bulgogi would make sense, but Bento rice with Sashimi/Sushi is just not a good match and redundant. Taste was definitely good and probably the best sushi around this region. This is a perfect place to come for business lunch and satisfy your cravings for Japanese food.

Sushi was filling and good (a standard of Japanese restaurants). I recommend the sashimi platter or have some included in your Bento Box for more quality and value. Some food were a minus tho: the chicken teriyaki seemed poor quality, the Pork Bone soup lacks in comparison and the side dishes were just ok... which did worry us but on the safe side, order the sushi/sashimi or the better cooked ones.. The nicest features are the high partitioned closed-off booths. With short door curtains and outstanding service (also a doorbell), it felt like our own secluded space. Their functional arrangement sets a cozy mood for dates, groups and families. Tip: Tasty cocktails can be requested in alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions.

Delicious food and nice staff! Pricey but worth it

Delicious food and service the staff is super nice!! Was not cheap but so worth it for quality thank you for this hidden gem!

I've been to this place twice over the course of 8 years and gotta say, both times it was great! For me, this place has a special spot in my heart as it's the first sushi place I went after starting my first job out of school. I went here with a colleagues who were starting at the same organization. We ended up at this place by accident, originally looking for another place to go to at the time, and back then, Google on a mobile phone wasn't the greatest so we really didn't have any other options at that point. The place was a Korean run sushi joint but the food was very fresh, authentic-feeling with lots of great and fresh flavours. We ordered a large sushi, sashimi, roll combo boat for a table of 10. Fast forward to today, and again, this place was on-point. Had 3 lunch special boxes, I had the sashimi, roll and sushi box with a nice variety of everything. Colleagues had something similar and look, for an a-la-carte joint, this is a great place to end up eating. Prices are fair and you'll be happy in dining here. What really makes it is the service. The service is very friendly, fast, and for regulars they remember your order and have it ready for you once you give them the nod. I also got take-out from here a few weeks later and couldn't be disappointed. put together really well with what looked like lots of pride and ownership. The type of sushi you want to eat, especially if you are eating in an A-la-carte environment. Giving this 4.0 out of 5.0 and stand by this.

Tucked in a plaza by the Longos at Laird & Winston Churchill. I visited this little spot coz my little and I were craving some sushi. We came on Saturday at around 12:30pm. There were lots of patrons but it wasn't full. They have some tatami rooms and some booths. It's a quaint spot. Food: the sushi was good and the fish was fresh. They do need to give a bit more wasabi. There is a very little dollop of it with about 2 slices if pickled ginger for a serving. The Tempura Udon was par to most places that I've had this soup at. There is nothing to rave home about. Service: Maybe it's the way the restaurant is laid out? The booths do block you from being seen easily by staff? However, it took quite some time to get someone to take our order. Basically, they came to drop off the menu and never really came back. They had the table doorbell to flag them for service. I personally don't want to have to use this. At first I thought maybe they just had 1 server which wouldn't have made sense since they had 2 sushi chefs at the bar. I had to look up over our booth divider to check well, turns out there were 3 and 2 of them were kinda just hanging out at the counter. So, press the button it is. 1x...2x...oh maybe 3x the charm. Finally! She seemed annoyed I rang the bell. So that takes off a full star. The rest of the service during our lunch was pretty meh. So, this didn't really make up for any issues at the very beginning. With that being said, I wouldn't necessarily completely cross it off my list. However, o also wouldn't go out of my way to go there. If in the area and craving sushi....hmmm...maybe.

From top to bottom: Fire caterpillar roll, Dai Ichi supreme roll, Volcano roll! Amazing, super delicious!!!

Yummy sushi! Super friendly, very attentive staff! We sat in a private booth/"room" that's super cute & very cozy, which has a button you press to call for serve - they come back to your table very quickly! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious: Fire caterpillar roll, Dai Ichi supreme roll, Volcano roll, Dynamite roll, Christmas roll, Bacon dragon roll. Only reason I didn't give them 5 stars: Location is a bit run down (but as soon as you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with such enthusiasm, you quickly forget the outside appear). The decor is a little dated, but still kinda cute! Also, it was a bit warm in the little private booth/"room" (but you quickly let it go & enjoy the super cute surrounding). It also sounded like the kitchen might have been using a microwave - not sure for what!?! Maybe the non-sushi stuff???...because the sushi rolls definitely tasted fresh and not microwaved! My family also enjoyed their green tea cheesecake and green tea ice cream! We will definitely go back!!! LOVED it!!!

Spicy Stir-Fried Squid and Pork Belly…read more I could hear the wok going absolutely crazy in the kitchen, so my expectations were high before the dish even arrived. It came out sizzling on the hot plate, with the oil still crackling. The pork belly was thick-cut but perfectly sized for one bite. The real surprise, though, was the squid. It had that firm, springy chew you get from grilled squid, but the flesh was also surprisingly thick and substantial. It felt like an indestructible little fighter that just wouldn't give up. Every bite turned into a tiny tug-of-war between my teeth and the squid, and I genuinely loved the texture. The shredded onion, zucchini, and carrot each added a different texture, with the zucchini especially helping cut through the richness. Almost every chopstickful had some meat plus two or three strips of vegetables. The ratio was pretty much perfect. It is on the expensive side, though. I checked Jindallae afterward and a similar dish there is around $22, making this one roughly 30% more expensive. A little disappointed that I didn't get the eggplant banchan I'd heard so much about. The side dishes I did get were simple and very home-style in their seasoning.

There are several mispelled words and other issues with spacing and formatting printed in the menu which for me personally gives off a bad initial impression and lowers the overall vibe of the dining establishment. The complimentary kimchi and onion for each diner was also always welcome. As an appetizer, I enjoyed our order of small Boneless Fried Chicken flavored with Cheese *Sprinkle. (The other available flavors include Sweet & Sour, Soy Garlic, Honey, Spicy, Spicy *Honey) There were enough pieces of the chicken for sharing between our group of 5 people. Something else I appreciated was the authentic feel of the rice being served in a hot stone pot inside the wooden crates. My main order was menu item #1 Combination Soon Tofu (Beef, Shrimp, Mussel) + Hot Stone Pot Rice. I find the order OK to good. There was too much going on in the soup to find any unifying or distinctive taste. If I have to order again, I would choose a different soup dish sticking to 1 main topping instead of 3. Another main dish I have gotten to sample was menu item #12 Pork Bone Soup. I wouldn't rank it among the best Korean Pork Bone Soups (Gamjatang) I have tried. The meat could have used more time cooking as it was not as tender as I normally expect for this dish. Lastly, I find the overall theming of the place lacking. Considering the restaurant's name, I expected them to specialize with tofu dishes or at least to have a signature menu item having tofu as the main ingredient. The tofu I did have included in my dish was nothing special.
